Diggin: How to Beat the Game Without Grinding (Density 5+)

Posted on July 17, 2026

By the time you hit Density 5 in Diggin, your Boomer Build has turned you into a supersonic wrecking ball. Movement speed is so high that Star Chasers get blasted into the void before you can touch them. Artifacts slip past because you’re moving too fast to body-check them. Each block costs 4,000+ stamina, and the game expects you to grind 300,000 blocks for the Mining Master achievement after only 38,000 from a normal playthrough. This guide skips the grind entirely. You’ll learn how to slow the game down without cheating your progress, avoid a bug that kills your drones, build an infinite stamina loop for AFK farming, and unlock the 300K achievement in under five minutes.

Overview: Late-Game Pain Points and Unconventional Solutions

The deep zones of Diggin punish speed. Your Overdrive-enhanced Boomer Build makes you too fast to collect Star Chasers—they’re glowing ores that actively dodge you and get knocked away by explosions. Artifacts require direct body contact; your weapons and explosions don’t count. You’ll miss them again and again. Meanwhile, the game’s economy breaks: each block hit costs over 4,000 stamina, and the only way to sustain that is either endless grinding or a trick that turns your build into a perpetual motion machine. There’s also a hidden bug that can cripple your drone army, and a 300K block achievement that would take hundreds of runs to reach legitimately. This guide gives you the bypasses.

Physical Slowdown: Catching Star Chasers and Artifacts

The simplest fix for the speed problem doesn’t exist inside the game. Use a third-party speedhack tool like Cheat Engine. Set the speedhack to 0.5x. The game will run at half speed while your inputs remain full-speed. This lets you react to Star Chasers as they try to dodge, and you can line up body collisions with Artifacts without overshooting.  In slow motion, switch to your right-click Laser Beam (Range Beam). It mines from a distance and grabs Star Chasers safely before they can flee. For Artifacts, just walk into them. At 0.5x speed, you have plenty of time to correct your angle. The game doesn’t flag this as cheating—it only checks for modified save data on the achievement leaderboard. Speedhacking is invisible to the game’s detection.

Avoid the Underflow Bug: Drill Drone Hits Per Second

The ‘Drill drone hits per second’ upgrade reduces the interval between drone attacks. If you upgrade it too high, the interval value wraps around from a tiny positive number to a huge positive number via integer underflow. Your drones go from attacking every 0.01 seconds to every 10 seconds or more. They effectively stop.

Don’t touch this upgrade past level 3 or 4. There’s no visual warning—your drones will just slow down over time until they’re useless. If you’ve already upgraded too far, there’s no fix until the developer patches the bug. Start a new save and avoid that upgrade entirely. The drone damage from other upgrades is more than enough for Density 5+.

Explosion Perpetual Motion: Achieving Creative Mode

For Density 5 through 10, switch your build to explosions. Prioritize TNT, Boomstone, and Brimstone. These items maximize explosion radius and chain reaction potential. The denser the monster and block clusters, the better.

Equip a fossil with the property ‘Boom Abilities restore 8% Stamina/Fuel’. Every explosion chain triggers dozens of hits simultaneously. Each hit costs 4,000+ stamina, but each explosion also refunds stamina from the fossil. The chain reaction refunds more stamina than it costs, creating a loop that never runs dry. You can hold down the explosion button and walk away. The game becomes AFK-viable. No grinding for fuel, no stamina management—just infinite explosions.

Code Magic: A Healthier Way to Unlock the 300K Blocks Achievement

The Mining Master achievement requires 300,000 blocks mined. A normal playthrough yields about 38,000 blocks. That’s eight full runs minimum, each taking hours, just to hit the number. And the game originally required 1,000,000 blocks before a patch dropped it to 300,000.

Open your save file with a save editor or use a memory tool like Cheat Engine. Find the ‘Blocks Mined’ variable. Set it to 299,900. Load the game, mine the last 100 blocks manually. The achievement will trigger legitimately. The game only checks the current value against the threshold—it doesn’t verify how you got there. This saves you at least 20 hours of repetitive digging. You’ve already beaten the game. The achievement is just a counter.
