Wreckfest: Online Racing Guide

Posted on February 15, 2020

In this guide, I’ll teach you how to be the worst human being you can possibly be while playing this game. This is not the first guide to do this, but will hopefully be the best. Or the worst.

Section 1: You & Your Vehicle.

Before you make people want to quit the game, you’re gonna need to know the basics. Start by choosing your vehicle. You have two options here, a top tier race car, which we will call “Racers,” or a heavily armoured large vehicle, which we will call “Crashers.”

If you pick the top tier cars, you’re gonna have a few to choose from. The Venom: Which you unlock by finishing the last World Masters event. The Roadslayer GT: Which is unlocked in the middle of the World Masters Career, The Dragslayer: Which is included in the Modified Monsters DLC or The Rammer: Which can be bought from the market. The Killerbee S, Sunrise Super and Raiden RS would be amazing choices here, but their small size and low strength leaves them very vulnerable on most tracks.

If you pick a heavy-hitter, you’re gonna have some absolute units to pick from. The Warwagon: Which can be bought from the market, The Vandal: Which is included in the Rusty Rats DLC, The Muddigger: Which can be bought from the market, The Hammerhead: Which can be bought from the market, The Wingman: Which is included in the Retro Rammers DLC, Bugzilla: Which is included in the Modified Monsters DLC or The Limo: Which is unlocked in the career. But if the server allows you too, ALWAYS pick the school bus or combine harvester in demo derbies. Make sure to use maximum armour.

Section 2: The Racer Guide.

So, you’ve picked a Racer. Now, for customisation. For paint jobs you again, have two options, a hideous paint job made up of lime greens, dark saturated blues and hot pinks. Or a really nice paint job which is, to be honest, pretty subjective. For armour you have the choice of heavy, light or none. I recommend light armour to keep your speed up but it’s up to you.

Now, for your racing style. If you start at the front of the pack, always block the inside line as tightly as possible to make you harder to pass and get a few people stuck behind, hopefully getting them taken out of the race by people like you or AI. Now that you’re ahead, drive as fast as you can and if anyone tries to pass you, block them and try to get them to screw up with break checks, etc. If they try to spin you out, let them ahead and and then crash into them in the corners.

If you start at the back or middle, use the other cars to wall ride into a better position. Now take care of your competitors by pushing them into solid tire walls and trees, spinning them out and creating roadblocks or pushing them at 100kph straight into corners. If you know you can’t catch up go out of your way to take out some lap cars for extra XP.

Section 3: The Crasher Guide.

So, you’ve picked the Crasher. Now that no-one respects you, it’s time to make everyone smash their keyboards and throw their junk food onto the floor by driving like the little cretin you are. For customisation, make your car extremely ugly to make sure your victims know what to expect before getting taken out at the first corner. If you start at the front of the pack, do the same thing you do with a Racer. But if you start at the middle or back, oh boy.

Because you’re at the back, there’s no need to brake. Just hold the accelerator and turn. After all, without the wrecks, the game would just be called Fest. Since you have no turning ability, just slide the car around the corners and keep your finger on the trigger or key. If anyone gets in your way, go out of your way to murder them by any means necessary. One of my favourites, although very tricky, is to smash people with perfect timing to have them stop in an intersection. Do I need to explain what happens next? If you see a car scraping to the finish line with very low health, crash into them. Not like they were gonna win anyway.

Section 4: Toxicity In the Chat.

If someone asks you nicely to stop, how dare they be so entitled! It’s time to channel your inner Scunt and do one of the following:
-Scream at them with swearing and racist slurs about how they should get over it.
-“uwu”
-Don’t say anything.
-Say it was an accident.
-“f”

Now that you are the scum of the Earth, get into a clean racing lobby and smash into some innocent drivers!
