This is the location of the world data for windows users.
Go to your search bar and type %appdata%
It should open up the “Roaming” folder.
Go to the address bar and select “AppData”.
You should now see three folders (Local, LocalLow, and Roaming).
Select the “LocalLow” folder.
Select “IronGate” folder, double click into “Valheim” folder.
Copy the folders: “characters” and “worlds”.
Paste those files in a “Safe” location on your computer.
If you ever need to restore the back up, just place the backup back to the location.

It should open up the “Roaming” folder.
Go to the address bar and select “AppData”.
You should now see three folders (Local, LocalLow, and Roaming).
Select the “LocalLow” folder.
Select “IronGate” folder, double click into “Valheim” folder.
Then go into the “worlds” folder.
You should see some files with the name of your world.
There should be two files, a .db file and a .fwl file.
if you are lucky, there will be another set of files named: xxxxx.fwl.old, and xxxxxx.db.old
Make sure you backup the files before doing anything.
All you should have to do is change the name of those files by deleting the .old out of the name.
This should restore you last backup of the data, and should fix any world data loss.
