For Resident Evil 4 players who are collecting achievements, this is a complete guide for obtaining all achievements in game to help you out.
Note:
This is a completely handwritten guide. Any item / collectable you need can be found by using CTRL + F and entering what you’re looking for in the text box.
Except for the story achievements, every other achievement in this game is missable. Some are very difficult to miss but they are all still missable.
Don’t worry about achievements on your first playthrough as multiple runs are needed for the 100%.
I would also recommend playing on assisted difficulty first. Then on NG+ you can get the achievements for not healing, not using the merchant, and using only knives and the pistol. You can stack all 3 of these achievements in 1 playthrough. Don’t worry about also stacking the Sprinter achievement as sub 8 hour runs are required for S+ ranks. It will also be easier to defeat a Garrador using only knives for that achievement. Beating the game on any difficulty unlocks professional.
Story Achievements
Defeat Del LagoStory related, cannot be missed.
Defeat Bitores MéndezStory related, cannot be missed.
Defeat the VerdugoStory related, cannot be missed.
Defeat Ramón SalazarStory related, cannot be missed.
Defeat Jack KrauserStory related, cannot be missed.
Defeat Osmund SaddlerStory related, cannot be missed.
Combat / Upgrade Achievements
Parry an enemy with the knifeUse the knife to deflect an enemy attack.
Upgrade a weaponAt the Merchant, use Ptas to upgrade a weapon.
Get the exclusive upgrade for a weaponYou’ll unlock the option to buy an exclusive upgrade for a weapon after fully upgrading it. Alternatively, after making it to the Castle, you’ll be able to purchase an Exclusive Upgrade Ticket for 30 Spinels. This give you access to the exclusive upgrade regardless of upgrades.
Obtain all weaponsMost weapons can be purchased from the Merchant. Some will be unlocked during NG+ runs for completing unique feats. All are listed below in the “All Collectables in Order of Appearance” section of this guide. Also, you do not need to own them all at the same time.
Defeat 3 enemies at once with a Flash GrenadeYou need to shoot enemies in the head and have the parasite emerge from their neck. This can be a bit random but can be forced when fighting the suits of armor as they always have a parasite. You can also get this by flashing a group of crows.
Defeat a Garrador using only KnivesA Garrador is the blind armored enemy you fight in chapter 7. You have to kill it completely using only knives. Just sneak up behind him and stab him in the back. Should take 2-3 knives depending on difficulty.
Kill 2 parasites inside a Regenerator with a single bulletAfter obtaining the Biosensor scope, equip it to a sniper rifle. Then circle around the room and look at one of the regenerators in a pod. Shoot it in the chest and the achievement will unlock.
Throw a grenade into Ramón Salazar’s mouthDuring this boss fight, throw a grenade into Ramón Salazar’s mouth.
Use a cannon to defeat a zealotAfter making it to the castle and raising the cannon, use it to kill one zealot.
Make it through both minecart sections in the underground tunnel without taking damageThis might just take a few attempts. If you take damage, just load a previous checkpoint.
Reach the top of the clock tower without the lift stopping onceYou get this by quickly defeating enemies as they hop on the lift. Too many enemies on the lift will stop it.
Escape on the water scooter without taking any damageAt the end of the game, complete the water scooter section without taking damage.
Rescue Ashley as she’s being carried away by the enemyAn enemy will attempt to pick Ashley up and carry her away if they get too close. When this happens, shoot the enemy in the leg and they will drop her.
Clockwork Castellan Achievements
Destroy a Clockwork CastellanAll are listed below in the “All Collectables in Order of Appearance” section of this guide.
Destroy all Clockwork CastellansAll are listed below in the “All Collectables in Order of Appearance” section of this guide.
Collectables in Order of Appearance P1
This will list every single collectable you can get in game. The goal is to have this be the only thing you need open for running through the game.
Labels are as follows:
W = Weapon
C = Clockwork Castellans
R = Merchant Request (some can be started before obtaining the request to reduce backtracking)
A = Chapter specific achievement
K = Small key (needed for all treasures)
U = Weapon part (only 1 can be found in game and is not needed for any achievement)
Also, I will not include anything unlocked and purchased from the merchant as to not add needless information. This is for missable items you need to worry about.
I have listed all collectables required for achievements. If you want every single item in the game, I have also included a 2 hour long video guide created by PowerPyx. All 293 collectables can be found there.
