FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE How to Fixed Stutter without Compromising DX12, HDR, etc.

Posted on June 25, 2022

For FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE players who have pretty bad stutter in cut scenes, this guide provides methods I used to fix it.

What I Did

If you haven’t resolved it with other guides, try the following steps.
Check your power saving setting in windows. Seems obvious, but it appears that any setting that throttles the cpu wil have a major impact on the game in a very unbalanced way. If your issue is mainly to do with cut scenes, it will pay to investigate anything that might throttle your cpu.Aside from that, the things I did to fix stuttering outside cutscenes were things that people might overlook. Make sure your windows is updated. Make sure you have the latest graphics drivers.

Go into your antivirus program and add exceptions for the game folder and your data folder. The game folder can be found through steam by right clicking game, selecting properties and clicking local files. your own data folder should be in C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\.

Lastly, if you have followed another guide to add the GFX mod and added an engine.ini file, take a look in the section below the video for config files that have worked for some people.

Summary

  • Power settings
  • Graphics Driver
  • Update windows
  • Add exception in antivirus for game folders
  • Ensure your Engine.ini file is correct

Anyway, I made the following video to show part of my process of troubleshooting, even if my guide doesn’t fix it for you, the steps i followed may be useful in helping you resolve it.

Engine ini Files

Use these at your own risk, I have not tested them. These config have been taken from https://www.nexusmods.com/finalfantasy7remake/mods/98?tab=posts, you can find more info about them there as well as discussion on how you can adjust these for yourself.

RTX 2080, Ryzen 2700, 32GB RAM, SSD drive – https://pastebin.com/VCVXWv0U

RTX 3080ti, Ryzen 5900x, 32GB RAM, NVMe SSD drive – https://pastebin.com/CmBtDnUF

Low/Mid Range PC – https://pastebin.com/rx1HTJiG

paste these config into your engine ini file that you would have gotten when installing the mod.
