For American Truck Simulator players, this is a guide on the different trailer types for the Low Boy in game. This guide will go over which articulation sets can haul which loads, as well as give information on GVWR for each type.
Introduction
My goal for this is to help people make the proper decisions to buy the right trailer to haul the load they want to haul in one easy place, in addition to giving people a general place to find info on this stuff.
I may be wrong about some things and will be continually editing and changing this guide to be in line with actual numbers as well as other things.
When I do the numbers for GVWR I will always add the tractor using these numbers:
12,000 lbs – Steers
34,000 lbs – Drives
—————————
46,000 lbs – Gross
When it comes to the trailers it will be dependant on the number of axles and the distance between each axle/tandem set.
I will be using the FHWA Bridge Law Guide[ops.fhwa.dot.gov] for numbers.
