I’ve put together everything you need to meet every bunny on your island, from the ones that wander in on their own to the special visitors with hidden requirements. You’ll find the full roster with personality types, favorite toys, and the exact conditions for unlocking the hard-to-get residents. If you’re the kind of player who wants to fill out the Bunbook without guessing, this is meant for you.
I wrote most of this before the Steam release because I know how frustrating it is to chase a bunny and have no idea what you’re missing. The Bunbook gives you hints, but it doesn’t spell everything out, and some requirements are easy to overlook. I’ll keep this updated if anything changes, and I really appreciate everyone who’s left a rating or an award along the way.
How the Bunbook Tracks Each Bunny
Before I get into the roster, I want to go over what each Bunbook entry actually tells you, because a couple of these fields are purely flavor text and I don’t want you wasting time trying to optimize things that don’t matter.

Personality has zero effect on gameplay. It’s just background flavor showing who the bunny is, so don’t read anything into it or try to match personalities with certain toys.
Friendship Status is determined by how many hearts you’ve earned with a bunny. You begin as strangers at 0 to 1 hearts, move up to acquaintances at 2 hearts, become friends from 3 to 5 hearts, good friends from 6 to 9 hearts, and finally reach besties at 10 hearts.
Friendship is one of the core systems in the game, represented by hearts. Each heart is worth 20 friendship points. Running a caretaking activity with a bunny (a bun run, brushing, and so on) grants 5 friendship points, while petting a bunny gives you 3 points. Friendship can only go up, never down, so there’s no penalty for interacting badly. The higher your friendship, the better tips bunnies leave, the more likely those tips are golden carrots, and the more likely they are to ask you for a caretaking activity.
Visits shows how many individual times a bunny has arrived on your island.
Resident unlocks once you become besties with a bunny, at which point you can invite them to live on your island. Once a resident, a bunny stays until you evict them, and you can only have 5 residents at a time.
Favorite Toys have no gameplay effect either. When a bunny interacts with one of its favorites for the first time, that toy is revealed in this section. Every bunny has 3 favorite toys.
Keepsake is covered in detail further down. I’ve tried to censor these as much as possible so you don’t get spoiled unless you want to be, but be aware that the keepsake section itself is not spoilered.
Headwear is where you change which hat a bunny is wearing. Most bunnies can wear all hats, but a few can’t wear any at all.
Regular Bunnies
Most bunnies have no requirements to appear. They can randomly show up as long as you have something on your island, and adding more items increases the odds that more bunnies choose to visit you. Here’s the full regular roster with the details from the Bunbook.

Special Bunnies and Their Requirements
Special bunnies have extra conditions you have to meet before they’ll show up. That requirement can be bypassed entirely if you make them a resident, but until then you need to set things up correctly. Beyond the unlock condition, they work just like regular bunnies. This is where most players get stuck, so pay attention to the exact wording on each one.

Here’s the exact breakdown of which items count toward the grouped requirements, since the game doesn’t list them for you and I had to double-check these against the counts myself.
- Mushroom items: Mushroom Houses, Mushroom Seats, both Mushroom Lamps, Kinoko’s Big Mushroom, Mushroom Clusters, Mushroom Trees, and Mushrooms.
- Flowers: Daisies, Chrysanthemums, Tulips, Windflowers, Hibiscus, Daisy’s Flower Basket, Button’s Wheelbarrow, and Lulu’s Bell Blossoms.
- Trees: Sparse Pines, Weeping Willow Trees, Thick Pine Trees, Maple Trees, Cherry Pines, Chinese Pines, and Bamboo.
Keepsakes
Keepsakes are the items a bunny gifts you when the two of you become besties. Each one is a single-use item that can’t be bought again, apart from a few special cases. Mugi’s crown and Maron’s hardhat show up in the headwear section of the shop for 1 gold carrot each, and Boo’s lantern can be found in the toys section for 2 golden carrots. If you sell a keepsake, you can get it back by clicking its registered entry in the Bunbook, which is a helpful safety net I’d keep in mind before you clear out your inventory.

Wrapping Up
That’s the full set of bunnies, requirements, and keepsakes. If I got something wrong or you need me to elaborate on any of it, leave a comment and I’ll be glad to update the guide. I may put together a breakdown of all the items and events as well if nobody beats me to it.
A big thank you to the Usagi Shima wiki on Mirahaze for nearly all of the images and the information on bunny breeds, and for helping me keep track of everything. It’s a genuinely well-made resource, and while I could have made this without it, the wiki made the whole process far easier. The editors there deserve plenty of credit.
