Reign of Guilds: Mining and Alloy Guide

In this guide I will go over the basics of Smelting using the Smelter and Alloy Smelter NPC’s located throughout the map.

To my current knowledge, you can pick up 3 types of ore, Copper, Iron, and Dwarrhinite.

The ore comes in various sizes (s/m/l), grades (1-100) and weight(Kg).

The yield depends on these stats, higher the grade and larger the chunk, the better the return.

Mines can be located all over the map, most have several entrances.

Once in the mines you will head down into an area full of Heretics, in this large main chamber of the mines you will find Copper and Iron ores scattered about on the ground.

The mines also host an NPC that has a quest pertaining to ore. Next to this NPC is an entrance to the lower portion of the mines.

In the lower portion of the mines you will come across Unburied (Skeletons), and find Copper, Iron and Dwarrhinite. This ore does look different, has a lighter colour.

This NPC can be found in a few villages and towns, the icon almost looks like a spilling bucket of paint.

This NPC has 3 different tabs, Recycle, Split, and Merge. Located in the top left of the NPCs trade window.

The Recycle tab is for refining ore into its base materials, Ingots and Dusts.

The Split tab is for breaking down refined materials further.
Large ingots split into Medium ingots, Medium ingots into Small ingots, Small Ingots into Dust.

The Merge tab is for combining materials.
Dust into Small Ingots, Small Ingots into Medium and so on.

This works for all dust, not just dust in the form of Copper, Iron and Dwarrhinite. Some Quests require materials made in this way.

This NPC can be found in a few villages and towns, located next to the Smelter NPC.

This NPC offers to smelt your Dusts into various Alloys.

They trade Copper Ingots for broken weapons, Iron Ingots for a trolls hammer, and Dwarrhinite Ingots for trolls armour.

This NPC can also make the level V and VI Cauldrons.
