I spent a good while scratching my head over this one before it finally clicked, so let me save you the trouble. The Law of the Land achievement in over the hill is a hidden one, and the condition is deceptively simple on paper: you need a blue livery and a red-and-blue beacon set equipped at the same time. The tricky part isn’t the logic — it’s that one of those pieces is locked behind a collectible on Asgard Mountain, and the other requires a specific car most players haven’t unlocked yet. Here’s exactly how I worked through it.
What You Actually Need
![]()
The achievement triggers when your vehicle is wearing a blue livery while also carrying the “Red & Blue Beacons” or the “Red & Blue Beacon Bar.” Both must be active together — one without the other won’t do it. The beacon bar is a world pickup you have to drive out and grab, while the livery is a garage selection. Plan for both before you head out.
Step-by-Step Route to the Beacon Bar
First, you need Asgard Mountain unlocked. Without that region accessible, none of the rest matters.
Before you drive anywhere, equip a repair kit and a jack. I’ll be honest — I ignored this advice the first time and regretted it on the descent. The route down to the chest is steep, and having recovery tools on hand turns a potential disaster into a minor inconvenience. Use them as needed rather than white-knuckling it.

Make your way to Rock Cradle Cabin, or simply spawn there if you’ve already got it. From the cabin, follow the trail upward toward the Scene Point. If you haven’t unlocked that Scene Point yet, do it now — it makes navigation far easier. Once that’s done, open your map and mark the general area of the chest: it sits in the blue circle to the east of the cabin. Then point yourself downhill and drive toward it. Take the slope slowly and lean on your equipment whenever the terrain fights back.
When you reach the chest, drive up to it to collect the Beacon Bar – Red & Blue. That’s the harder half of the puzzle done.
Equipping the Blue Livery
With the beacon bar in your inventory, teleport out or jump into the menu to reach your garage. Now you need a car that can actually run a blue livery. Select The Polyana — assuming you’ve unlocked it — and apply the blue livery. Then set the Beacon Bar – Red & Blue as your beacon option.
The moment both are equipped on the same vehicle, the Law of the Land achievement pops.
Which Cars Work (and Which Don’t)
Not every vehicle plays nice with this achievement, and I’ve seen enough confusion in the comments to know it’s worth spelling out. The Polyana with its blue livery is confirmed working, though it does require unlocking. The Brick has a blue livery and needs no unlock, but it does not trigger the achievement — so don’t waste your time there.
A whole list of others — Das Lynx, The Tinny, Das Wombat, The Cumbre, The Grand Woodman, The Roamer, The Woodman, The Boar, and The Marshall — remain unverified. Some have blue liveries, most require unlocking, but none are confirmed either way. If you happen to test one, the community benefits from knowing the result. For a broader breakdown of what each vehicle offers, my Vehicles guide is a good companion read while you’re planning your garage lineup.
Unlocking The Polyana
Since The Polyana is the reliable path, here’s how to get it. The vehicle is found at Gimli Ridge, along the Elvis Ridge route in the upper portion of the map. Complete that route and access to The Polyana opens up for you. It’s a fair bit of driving, but once it’s done, the car is yours for this achievement and plenty else besides.
That’s the whole thing — grab the beacon bar east of Rock Cradle Cabin, unlock The Polyana at Gimli Ridge, and pair the blue livery with your new beacon. One hidden achievement down.
