If you play Mass Effect 3 and you are facing the FPS issue that makes it hard to play, this guide will show you how to fix this issue, let’s check it out.
Solution
After working with another mod developer I’ve made a small dll that prevents Origin in-game overlay from loading. It works the same way reshade does to fix the issue, except my dll doesn’t actually do anything, so it should work on most systems. Mine just proxies d3d9.dll which origin seems unable to deal with when injecting the overlay. I have personally tested that this resolved my fps since at the normandy it was 22fps and afterwards it was 60.
The fix is here: https://github.com/ME3Tweaks/d3d9-blank-proxy/releases/tag/1.0
Download the zip, and extract the d3d9.dll file next to your game executable in Binaries/win32. That’s all there is to it. This WILL disable origin in-game overlay, so it may affect MP.
Let me know if this works for you and I may integrate it into mod manager. I’m also taking feedback at my modding discord, https://discord.gg/s8HA6dc.
This dll should work on other origin games too, like ME1 which also suffers from this same issue.
That’s all we are sharing today in Mass Effect 3 How to Fix FPS Problem (Disable Origin Overlay), if there are anything you want to add please feel free to leave a comment below and we’ll see you soon.
