Content

This is an in depth guide about all the weapons in Hunt: Showdown. Here you can find almost all the advantages and disadvantages of all the weapons in the game. Hope you find it useful 😀

Compact ammo rifles

Compact ammo is the weakest ammo type in Hunt: Showdown in my opinion. Its main advantage is that it is the most abundant. Guns that use compact ammo can be usually fired very quickly using traits.

Winfield M1873C

– Takes around 2-3 rounds at medium range and 2 rounds at close range to kill someone
– Can be fired quicker using the Levering trait

– Takes around 2-3 rounds at medium range and 2 rounds at close range to kill someone
– Can be fired quicker using the Levering trait
– Has a medium sized marksman scope – the scope is cracked when dirty

Winfield M1873C Silencer

– Takes around 2-3 rounds at medium range and 2 rounds at close range to kill someone
– Can be fired quicker using the Levering trait
– Has a silencer equipped that limits its muzzle velocity

Winfield M1873

– Takes around 2-3 rounds at medium range and 2 rounds at close range to kill someone
– Can be fired quicker using the Levering trait

Winfield M1873 Aperture

– Takes around 2-3 rounds at medium range and 2 rounds at close range to kill someone
– Can be fired quicker using the Levering trait
– Has an aperture sight equipped that can be brought up and down using the X button
– Aperture sight is a miniature scope that is best utilised at medium ranges

Winfield M1873 Talon

– Holds 16 round of ammunition – two times as much as Winfield M1873C
– Takes around 2-3 rounds at medium range and 2 rounds at close range to kill someone
– Can be fired quicker using the Levering trait
– Has a big blade on the stock that is a bit awkward to use as it drains a lot of stamina
– The melee attack can one shot hunters

Winfield M1873 Swift

– Holds 16 round of ammunition – two times as much as Winfield M1873C
– Takes around 2-3 rounds at medium range and 2 rounds at close range to kill someone
– Can be fired quicker using the Levering trait
– Can be reloaded very quickly – uses a quick loader that loads 7 bullets at a time
– This is the best Winfield to use with levering as it can be shot and reloaded very fast

Nagant officer carbine

– Holds 7 rounds in its cylinder
– Can be fired very quickly
– Can easily 2-3 shot players at close range
– Easy to headshot players with it
– Reloads at a slow speed

Medium ammo rifles

Medium ammo is a versatile but off Meta ammo type. It is pretty powerful as it takes 2 shots to kill a hunter at medium range. It is not as abundant as compact ammo. Shooting through walls mitigates its damage.

Vetterli 71 Karabiner

– Holds 7 medium ammo bullets

– Holds 7 medium ammo bullets
– Reloads quite fast – almost as fast as winfield
– Can consistently 2 shot hunters at close to medium range
– Fast rate of fire

– Takes 2-3 shots at medium range to kill a hunter
– Has a marksman scope equipped – it’s cracked when dirty
– The scope benefits from the steady aim and marksman scopesmith traits

Long ammo rifles

The long ammo is the most consistent ammo type in the game. Meta now is to use the Mosin nagant or the Lebel 1886 rifles with a Caldwell conversion uppercut pistol as a sidearm. It deals the most damage overall (besides special ammo) and is therefore the most widely used ammo type. Long ammo rifles are pretty expensive (they range from 122 to 1250 hunt dollars).

Martini-Henry IC1

– One shot rifle with high damage with a lot of spare ammo (22)

– Very fast reload speed (3 seconds)
– Takes 2 shots to kill hunters at close to long range
– The riposte is a long sabre the one shots hunters to the chest with a heavy attack
– The riposte can one shot grunts with a light attack
– The riposte variant has higher weapon sway that the normal Martini-Henry IC1

Sparks LRR

– One shot rifle with very high damage
– When shot up close, the enemy hunter is left with one HP
– Has the best ironsights in my opinion
– Has a lot of reserve ammo (20)
– Its best use is when paired up with a finishing pistol as the enemy hunter is left with minimal HP

Sparks LRR Sniper

– One shot rifle with very high damage
– When shot up close, the enemy hunter is left with one HP
– Has the best ironsights in my opinion
– Has a lot of reserve ammo (20)
– Has a long sniper scope
– Best used with steady aim trait as the sniper scopesmith trait doesnt help much because sparks
is a single shot rifle

Sparks LRR Silencer

– One shot rifle with very high damage
– When shot up close, the enemy hunter is left with one HP
– Has terrible ironsight
– Has a lot of reserve ammo (20)

– The lebel has a very slow reload speed
– It has the highest bullet velocity of all rifles in the game

– Has a big blade attached to the stock but it’s pretty clumsy
– Due to the blade attachment, the weapon sway is slightly higher than normal Lebel 1886

Lebel 1886 Marksman

– Holds 10 rounds with 5 spare rounds
– The lebel has a very slow reload speed
– It has the highest bullet velocity of all rifles in the game
– Has pretty good ironsights
– Also has a pretty slow rate of fire as it takes pretty long to cycle the bolt
– This variant has a marksman scope attached
– Benefits from the bullet grubber and iron sharpshooter traits
– The scope benefits from steady aim and marksman scopesmith traits

Mosin-Nagant M1891

– Holds 5 rounds with 10 spare rounds
– Can be reloaded quickly when it has no bullets left in the magazine
– Benefits from the bullet grubber and iron shrapshooter traits

Mosin-Nagant M1891 Bayonet

– Holds 5 rounds with 10 spare rounds
– Can be reloaded quickly when it has no bullets left in the magazine
– Benefits from the bullet grubber and iron sharpshooter traits
– The bayonet is not as strong as you think, because it is inconsistent
– Due to it having a bayonet, the weapon sway is increased
– Attacking with a bayonet uses a lot of stamina, so you can thrust it 3 times

Mosin-Nagant M1891 Sniper

– Holds 5 rounds
– Can be reloaded quickly when it has no bullets left in the magazine
– Benefits from the bullet grubber and iron sharpshooter traits
– The scope greatly benefits from the sniper scopesmith and steady aim traits

Mosin-Nagant M1891 Avtomat

– Holds 15 rounds with 0 spare rounds
– Fires in 3 round bursts
– Is fully automatic with the fastest rate of fire in the game
– Costs 1250 hunt dollars – the most expensive gun in the game
– The recoil is very hard to control
– It greatly benefits from the bullet grubber trait
– Should be paired with a Caldwell Conversion Uppercut or Mosin-Nagant M1891 Obrez and its
variants for the extra spare ammo
– Can be reloaded very quickly using 5 round stripper clips when you have fired atleast 5 bullets
– The Avtomat is very inaccurate at long ranges – best used at close to medium ranges

Large slot shotguns

Shotgun ammo is very consistent, excels at close range and is pretty abundant. Shotguns fire several pelets, so it might sometimes look like they are not working when you don’t hit the enemy hunter with all of them. Usually used by campers :D. They are great against the butcher.

Caldwell Rival 78

– Holds 2 rounds in the chambers with 8 spare rounds
– Has very high close range potential
– Pretty cheap at 100 hunt dollars

Romero 77

– Holds one round in the chamber

– A great pump action shotgun that holds 5 rounds
– You need to land consistent full body shots to effectively kill someone
– Benefits from the bullet grubber and iron devastator traits
– Has a bayonet attached to the front
– The bayonet is pretty weak against people, sometimes not able to one shot hunters
– The clunky mechanism makes it fire a bit slow

Crown & King Auto-5

– The only semiautomatic shotgun in the game
– Massive close range potential
– Has a very high recoil
– Costs 600 hunt dollars
– It holds 5 rounds but has a small number of reserve ammo
– Only chads use this gun 😀

Compact ammo medium slot guns

Compact ammo is the weakest ammo type in Hunt: Showdown in my opinion. Its main advantage is that it is the most abundant. Guns that use compact ammo can be usually fired very quickly using traits.

Bornheim No.3 Match

– Has a 6 round capacity
– Can fire pretty fast and accurately at close to medium range
– Benefits from the bullet grubber trait
– Has a pretty good sight

Nagant M1895 Precision

– Has a 7 round capacity
– Doesn’t benefit from the fanning trait
– Can’t really compete with the other guns
– Since it uses compact ammo, its damage output is pretty low
– The stock helps with weapon sway, as it has almost none

Nagant M1895 Deadeye

– Has a 7 round capacity
– Doesn’t benefit from the fanning trait
– Can’t really compete with the other guns
– Since it uses compact ammo, its damage output is pretty low

– Can be used as a pocket sniper when using the quatermaster trait

Medium ammo medium slot guns

Medium ammo is a versatile but off Meta ammo type. It is pretty powerful as it takes 2 shots to kill a hunter at medium range. It is not as abundant as compact ammo. Shooting through walls mitigates its damage.

– Has a lot of reserve ammo
– Reloads very quickly
– Has pretty bad sights and isn’t very accurate
– Comes equipped with a small deadeye scope
– Benefits from steady aim and deadeye scopesmith traits
– It is overall a pretty good pocket sniper, but has a lot more spread than a normal Springfield rifle

Long ammo medium slot guns

The long ammo is the most consistent ammo type in the game. It deals the most damage overall (besides special ammo) and is therefore the most widely used ammo type. Long ammo medium slot guns are pretty rare these days, as they have high recoil, but are basically miniature long ammo rifles.

Mosin-Nagant M1891 Obrez

– Almost a perfect copy of the Mosin-Nagant M1891
– Holds 5 rounds and can be reloaded quickly when empty
– Has very high recoil

ammo
– Has very high recoil
– Can be used with large slot guns when using the quatermaster trait
– Benefits from bullet grubber and iron sharpshooter traits

Medium slot shotguns

Shotgun ammo is very consistent, excels at close range and is pretty abundant. Shotguns fire several pelets, so it might sometimes look like they are not working when you don’t hit the enemy hunter with all of them. Usually used by campers :D. They are great against the butcher. Usually used with the quatermaster trait to serve as close range backup to large slot weapons.

Caldwell Rival 78 Handcannon

– Almost a perfect copy of the Caldwell Rival 78
– Comes with 2 rounds in the chamber and 8 spare rounds
– Makes a great close range backup weapon

– Benefits from the bullet grubber and iron devastator traits
– A pretty rare sight these days
– Although the mechanism is pretty clumsy, it can still be fired quicker that its big brother

Compact ammo pistols

Compact ammo is the weakest ammo type in Hunt: Showdown in my opinion. Its main advantage is that it is the most abundant. Guns that use compact ammo can be usually fired very quickly using traits. This includes the fanning and levering traits. There are some semi-automatic weapons.

Caldwell Conversion Chain Pistol

– A great pistol that holds 17 rounds
– Has the best pistol sights in the game
– Can be fired quickly with the fanning trait – slower than the normal Conversion pistol

Nagant M1895 Officer Brawler

– A quick firing double action revolver
– It cannot be used with fanning
– Reload speed is average
– When dirty, it has dirt in its sights
– The trigger is pretty heavy so the pistol is a bit unwielding
– Comes equipped with dusters, but they consume too much stamina when used, so you are
better off with normal dusters
– The dusters also make the weapon sway a bit worse
– Best used at close to ranges

Medium ammo pistols

Medium ammo is a versatile but off Meta ammo type. It is pretty powerful as it takes 2 shots to kill a hunter at medium range. It is not as abundant as compact ammo. Shooting through walls mitigates its damage. Medium ammo pistols cost as much as their rifle counterparts. They make for pretty good finishing pistols.

Caldwell Pax

– Holds 6 bullets, can be fired quickly when using the fanning trait

– Best used at close to medium ranges

Long ammo pistols

The long ammo is the most consistent ammo type in the game. It deals the most damage overall (besides special ammo) and is therefore the most widely used ammo type. Long ammo pistols are a very common sight these days. People usually wield them alongside Meta rifles like Mosin-Nagant and the Lebel.

Caldwell Conversion Uppercut

– Holds 6 rounds of very powerful ammo
– Can one shot headshot people at great ranges
– Makes for an excellent finishing pistol, as the bullet velocity is pretty fast
– When using fanning, it can be fired quickly, but with very high recoil
– Costs 275 hunt dollars, so it is very expensive for a pistol

Special ammo weapons

Special ammo is includes a wide variety of projectiles, from the .500 nitro rounds to exploding crossbow bolts. Guns like the Nitro Express Rifle, Dolch 96 and crossbows can be found in this category. Special ammo cannot be looted from normal ammo crates but has to be instead found in special ammo boxes. You can usually find 1 per compound, but there have been instances that 6 were found. Should be used sparingly, but don’t be afraid to use it as it has a lot of potential.

Bomb Lance

– Holds 1 explosive harpoon with 5 reserve harpoons
– When an enemy hunter is hit with this harpoon, he is dead no matter what he does
– The blade makes it super easy to kill mobs and hunters alike
– Almost everything can be kill with one heavy attack
– The harpoon can also be used on meatheads and bosses to quickly kill them
– When a meathead is hit with a harpoon, he explodes, which kills him instantly
– Can be swung very quickly
– Used by Chads 😀

Nitro Express Rifle

– Can one shot hunters up to 50 meters when hit in the torso
– Has a very limited ammo supply – only 6 rounds
– Holds 2 rounds at a time

so
they usually use it as a shotgun, hip-firing it only

– Causes rending damage
– Can easily deal with mobs
– Consumes a lot of stamina with each heavy attack, so should be used with the determination trait
