For new players of Heads Will Roll: Downfall who are looking for a basic guide, this will help you to have a better start.
Make sure you play on HWR difficulty so you can abuse the manual character creator.
I recommend bags and craftsmanship for the guide but the goals are still possible without said things.
– Power Leveling with canteens and waterskins
– Make a good character
1. Make money with crafting
Canteen – 2x leather (15 – 8 coins)
– 7 coin profit
Waterskin – 4x leather (40 – 16 coins)
– 34 coin profit
Potent Medicine – 4x leather (waterskin) + 1x medicine plant (90 – 23 (57) coins)
– 67 coin profit
– 33 coin profit (waterskin used)
Any arrows – 1x head + 1x arrow
– Small but guaranteed profit
Theres more than only these recepies to make money.
Start out crafting arrows and work towards making potent medicine. If you get a lucky shop that you get Craftsman gloves, use that to make potent medicine on the first screen. Later, the tavern opens up with infinite waterskins which is more reliable than the small stock of leather.
2. Power Leveling with canteens and waterskins
Although steroids are in limited supply in crafting, buying from the tavern will be your main supplier.
With steroids, you can go to 0 fatigue with 75 coins (1 waterskin + 1 canteen). This combo will get you at least 3 levels in any skill. Although, you want to make sure your endurance/fatigue is not too low to make yourself waste steroids.
A note about leveling weapon skill:
Solo training uses the entire fatigue bar for 1 skill
Training with Soldiers uses half of the fatigue bar for 1 skill
Training with a trainer uses a third of the fatigue bar for 1 skill
Training with trainer will be the most efficent while only costing 95 coin per 3 levels
Use steroids scarcely in the beginning due to low cash flow, but later make sure to use the leather in the shop before the round ends or you’ll end up wasting the leather. Once you get the tavern, watch your coin count closely or it’ll be too late once you realized you spend all your money on steroids.
3. Make a good character
Wooden club – Agility + Coordination + Weapon skill
Use damage boosting trinkets
Use fatigue reducing trinkets (not lute due to 1 time reduce)
