For FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE players who want to clear certain save data. This guide will tell you how to delete locally-stored save data and the one on steam cloud
For Those Who Are Not Using Steam Cloud Save
Open File Explorer and go to
C:\Users\[Your User Name]\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\Steam\76561198264775022
(The number at the end might be different for you)
This is the folder that contains save data. Your game data are those whose names are ff7remake0** or ff7remake0**.sav (** could be 00-30). The number corresponds to the number of saving slot in game and 00 is for autosave. Carefully determine which one you want to keep and which one you want to delete. The other files are for game settings (resolution, fps, etc.) and you might not want to remote them.
For Those Who Are Using Steam Cloud Save
Specifically, we will use powershell command to wipe local save files and have them uploaded to steam cloud.
IMPORTANT: Just in case, backup your saves before performing any actions. The save files locate in
C:\Users\[Your User Name]\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\Steam\76561198264775022
(The number at the end might be different for you)
Be sure to copy the folder to somewhere safe.

This is the folder that contains save data. Your game data are those whose names are ff7remake0** or ff7remake0**.sav (** could be 00-30). This is what my folder looks like. The number corresponds to the number of saving slot in game and 00 is for autosave. Carefully determine which one you want to keep and which one you want to delete. The other files stores game settings (resolution, fps, etc.) and you might not want to remote them.
My folder looks like this.
Be sure to back it up.
Open Windows Powershell and execute this command
cd C:\Users\[Your User Name]\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\Steam\76561198264775022
This will direct powershell to your save folder. Then we are going to use clc command to wipe the save data. Execute
clc .\ff7remake0**.sav
Replace ** for the file you want to to delete. To save your time, you can copy the commands you want here.
clc .\ff7remake000.sav
clc .\ff7remake001.sav
clc .\ff7remake002.sav
clc .\ff7remake003.sav
clc .\ff7remake004.sav
clc .\ff7remake005.sav

clc .\ff7remake015.sav
clc .\ff7remake016.sav
clc .\ff7remake017.sav
clc .\ff7remake018.sav
clc .\ff7remake019.sav
clc .\ff7remake020.sav
clc .\ff7remake021.sav
clc .\ff7remake022.sav
clc .\ff7remake023.sav
clc .\ff7remake024.sav
clc .\ff7remake025.sav
clc .\ff7remake026.sav
clc .\ff7remake027.sav
clc .\ff7remake028.sav
clc .\ff7remake029.sav
clc .\ff7remake030.sav
In my case, I want to delete 02, so I executed
clc .\ff7remake002.sav
in powershell.
After executing the command, you should see the wiped files have 0KB in size.
Start the game now and you will see the wiped saves are unreadable now.
By this point we have successfully removed the data from steam cloud. Now, to change unreadable data to an empty slot, just delete the 0KB files in the save folder and restart the game. You will see your clean and tidy save list.
