Basic encounters

The jungle is vast and dangerous. The first thing you might or have seen are sabertooths, snakes and boars, which are the most encountered hostile animals at first. Not forgeting the eagles if you stand too long on the top of a tree, but you can avoid those quite easily by grabing food and going back lower.

Basic Defence

At First, it will be hard to do anything and staying in the trees must have been your solution.
Defending yourself against predators is hard if you dont know how to properly do it.
So lets start by dodging. not so easy, but you’ll get the gist of it.
when you are getting attack, hold jump and a direction so the predator misses target (45 degree from the angle of attack is best). but this is not all, as the momentum must be right. too early and you’ll bleed, just a bit too late and you’ll bleed too, way too late and you’ll be dead.

After getting the trick right, you are still not out of the wood (not that you’ll ever be. xD )

Intermediate Defence

Now, maybe you dont want to keep on dodging till you finally get to safety.
And maybe it is as easy as grabing a rock.
“but how will i do anything if i can only pick one thing”
We will deal with that later on. Till then, carry a rock till you need to eat or do anything else.

Now lets get to How you can put that rock for good use.
When you get attacked, you can strike the predator with it.
When promted to dodge, hold and move toward the predator. If you learned how to properly dodge, you most likely wont miss. Good thing is, it will run away, leaving you even safer then by dodging.

it’s even better if you are moving multiple members of your clan, but keep an eye out for trouble.

Advance Defence

By now You should have learned the ability to use both hand to hold things and switch around.
if not then see you when you get there.
For those that are still here, you get to keep something to defend yourself at all time.
But careful not to drop your item after falling or misdodging.
In the case where you might have found how to make a sharpened stick,
it might be time to become #1 on the food chain.
So this time striking with a sharpened stick or two, might mean more than just safety.

And who knows, you might find more means of defence. And other sources of food.

That’s all we are sharing today in Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey Defence Guide, if there are anything you want to add please feel free to leave a comment below and we’ll see you soon.
