This guide is going to be about the items, perks and playstyle I chose to complete the big quests for MOST of the characters.
Character’s playstyle
These are my 3 playstyles:
Pretty simple : Shoot first, loot later.
Avoid combat, going straight for the objective and get the bonus exp of ”Alerted/Killed no one”
Thieving tools, vents and rowdy Slum dwellers will be your best friends
Similar to stealth, you will be counting on the bonus exp. However, you’re mostly going to be buying your way to victory and interacting with the NPCs. Buy or trade the Objective Items you need or hire muscles to Increase your threat success chances or just doing the dirty work for you.
Obviously your run won’t be 100% sticking to the playstyle recommended, you will inevitably get rough ‘n’ tough. Perks and item drops might not be suited for you at all, make the best of what get!
Leveling Up
- Kills. Rival kills are worth much more
- Chests and safes
- Polluting air vents
- Freeing prisonners
- Stealing from fridges
- Completing a mission Alerting/Killing no one
- Class exclusive. (Pickpocket with thief, destruction with Jock, etc)
End of floor Bonus
This is where the bulk of your exp will be. These can reward you greatly but can also make your run MUCH harder than it should.
I try get as much as i can in the early levels since completing them later can become harder.
- No guns used
- Used only fists
- Wanton destruction
- No destruction (including windows, doors and even trash cans!)
- Finished fast
- Increased electability
- Completing Big Quest
Cash in as much as you can of these in the slums. With some luck you can reach level 5 by the time you get in the Industrial zone. Focus most of your perks on ways to help you on your playstyle but don’t forget to add some combat perks.
Items and Perks
These are all suggestions and ways I play the game in order to complete the Big Quests. Hopefully this guide will help you find and do your own thing!
Slum Dweller
Playstyle : At the mercy of RNGesus
Really this is one up to you, the slum dweller can choose from 5 perks and gains stats every 2 level up. He starts with the perk ”Studious” wich gives bonus exp AND is upgradable. He’s pretty much a blank slate as long as you can come up with 50$ every floor.
If you missed a payment, don’t worry! Rogue’s banker are much more relax than in real life.
As long as you pay a total of 150 per zone you’re good. If you want as much exp as you can, i’d advise doing regular payments as the ”completing Big Quest” will only activate once per floor.
- Rob every damn chest on a floor.
- Hack Sell-O-Matic before selling.
- Sell weapons. Be mindfull of durabilty, sell them once they hit 100 durability
- Hack ATM.
- Kill and loot poor innocents.
- Trust Funder.
- Friend Of The Family. (Prevents you from being mugged.)
- Super Studious
Soldier
Playstyle : Action hero (duh)
This one is pretty straight forward. Shoot everything and blow up everything! This works in the early levels but soon you will find yourself against an army of supercops. Hold the testosterone when you reach Downtown. EMP grenades will detonate generators similarly to the wrench. This works through walls without getting aggro.
- Ammo Scavenger
- Blaster Master
- Big Bullets
- Bullet Breaker
- Clumsiness Forgiven.
- Shop Drops (many shops have generators!)
- EMP Grenades
- Wrench
- Time bomb
Gangsters
Playstyle : Action Hero
This is a cool one, You can grind exp at the start of the game! It’s a simple Big Quest and you get alot of exp by killing rivals. Recruit gang members with the best weapons, arm the ones you spawn with your phone (or else they might walk away with your guns!) and order them to complete your objectives.
You will get as much exp as you can from tasks : some for your friend killing a guy, some for completing the objective unoticed if no related to the objective saw you (It doesn’t matter if they see your friends!) Keep this up and you can finish the floor with the bonus of : no guns used, used only fists and completing Big Quest. This works real well in the first floors. Take advantage of this to level up fast!
- Class Solidarity
- Confident In Crowds
- Homesickness Killer
- Infectious Spirit
- Loneliness Killer
Don’t forget to pick some perks for yourslef too!
- Shotgun, Uzi, whatever you want to start with.
- Ammo Processor
- Bulletproof Vest
Thief
Playstyle : Stealth Boy
This is a fun one, classic thief but not rogue! (haha i know) What i mean is you are terrible a combat, but you run fast! Use this to your advantage. Get people out of the building where your objective is (vents, slum dweller wtv.) and run in to the objective or lift it off the person holding it. This is when the cardboard box is not working.
The thief is gonna make alot of money. Pickpocket drug dealers for syringes, any chump for whatever scraps they got, safety helmets off of workers and other bunch of cool stuff to sell at the Sell-O-Matic. Downside is, you’re also going to have to spend alot of money. Bribing cops, removing the trait suspicious, constantly buying thieving tools(stack them early! the price rises as you progress!)
- Blend In Nicely
- I’m Outtie
- Intrusion Artist
- Sneaky/Nimble Fingers (IMO both is too much!)
- Shrewd Negociator.
- Earwarp Whistle
- EMP Grenade
- Hologram Bigfoot
Shopkeeper
Playstyle : Social Animal
The AAA games experience, this is all about micro transactions. Sell everything, buy everything! Bank clerks will allow you access to the safe for 50$. Might seem pricy but soon will be peanut change for you. Every floor has a HOT item. This item will always sell for more than what you pay for. Run around harassing every citizen for whatever item it is, or take it by force. Be carefull of your attachement on your guns. Drop your modded gun, pick up the gun you need to sell, sell it, then pick back up your peashooter. Long process but trust me, you don’t want to lose that sight on your shotgun.
Violence should be your last option.
- Trust Funder
- Shrewd Negociator+
- On The House
- Ammo Stealer
- Hypnotizer
- Kill Profiter
Bartender
Playstyle : Social Animal
This is a tough one! You don’t have a direct way to make money to keep buying ingredients for your drinks. Take advantage of your charismatic trait by doing the ”Jehovah fridge”. Knock on every residence’s door. The occupant will open the door and stand in the doorway for 1 or 2 seconds leaving you time to go straight for the fridge without being seen (unless you have ”Promise i’ll return it”, they will get angry). This is a good way to get some beers and whiskey in the early game Stack up cigarettes from vending machines and trash cans to finely blend them into a sludge and serve it to some poor devil out there. Alternatively, you can hire some muscles, mix a potent strengh, fast or any buff cocktail to serve to your muscle and send him on the job. Cash in on your Big Quest and the objectives. Serving cocktails will leave you a 5 sec of delay before the drinker feels the effects. if you’re fast enough, you can poison any threat in the room and leave their sight without being noticed.
Cool little thing you can do : Get the trait Loneliness killer, and buy out all the cheap booze your co-worker has to sell. This is a great way to save money and keep a steady supply of drinks for your Big Quest
- Lock And Load
- On The House
- Loniless Killer
- Trust Funder
- Shop Drops
- Cyanide Pills (excellent served with lemon)
- Friend’s Phone
- Free item Voucher (For Cyanide)
Hacker
Playstyle : Stealth Boy
Everyone’s favorite. I’m pretty sure you already got this one done but if not, here ya go. Install malware should be the last thing you do on the floor unless there’s a riot or bombs dropping. Hack everything, from Sell-O-Matics, ATM, Fridge, TV, slave collar to killer bot, everything is hackable!
Create distractions and Avoid combat or at least give yourslef an advantage. Use the computer of any building to release gas and send people on their way out. This is your chance to convert the Security system on your side or sneak in to grab what you need.
- Blend in Nicely
- Slippery Target
- Teleporter-Happy
- Sneaky Fingers
- Gas Mask
- Silencer
- Time Bomb
- Four-Leaf Clover (reduces chances of causing alarm when hacking)
Doctor
Playstyle : Stealth Boy
Tranquilizer Gun. People will not aggro you unless they see you shooting them with it, and it shoots through broken windows. Unfortunatly you can’t use many other weapons. Sneak around and take out guards one by one. Be patient! Find blind spots and hiding spot waiting for the tranquilizer gun to work if chloroform is too risky!
You can also make use of the starting trait ”Medical professional”. Unless you have ”Homesickness killer”, escaped prisonners are the only one who will follow you next floor. Hire one as a bodyguard to use the weapons you can’t use and make the killing for you.
- Blend in Nicely+
- Disturbing Facial Expressions
- Infectious Spirit
- Secret Vandalizer
- Shop Drops
- Dizzy Grenades
- EarWarp Whistle
- Hypnotizer
- Freeze Ray
Scientist
Playstyle : Stealth Boy
Semi-Hard. 3rd floor elements can make your task really difficult but for the most part it’s easy. Use the Water-Gun to apply desired effects on required ”subject” and use your research gun on it. The Freeze Ray can help you with low participation from your guinea pigs. Going ghost hunting for extra funds can help you re-up on your loadout items.
Avoid fights unless you have a back up plan (Giant pill, cyanide Water-Gun or a fully loaded freeze gun). The vents are good friends for the scientist.
WATCH OUT IN UPTOWN!! The robot with the Purple sight is the one asking for your drugs and (precious) alcohol.
- Trust Funder
- On The House
- Knockback king (leafblower)
- Hologram Bigfoot
- Ammo Processor
- Ammo Stealer
- Free Item Voucher
Gorilla
Playstyle : Action Hero
Hope you like to bash things! You’re all about melee and bananas! If you can get a ”Killer Thrower” pill in your loadout at the home base, stack up the banana peels! The gorilla is pretty versatile in terms of combat. Affirm dominance by either choosing perks that will make you an ultimate killing machine or focus more on keeping your pack of gorillas alive and go ”Planet of the Apes”.
You choose the way the Gorilla revolution happens, the important things are : Show those damn specist scientists who won the darwin lottery!. Shopkeepers are worth the detour if you’re short on funds.
- Loneliness Killer
- Infectious Spirit
- Medical Professional
- Float Like Butterfly
- No In-Fighting
Pretty much perks that will boost your team and your melee combat.
- Killer Thrower
- Muscly Pill
- Critter Upper
- Friend Phone

05/28/2016
R.I.P. Harambe
Cop
Playstyle : Action Hero
Keep the scum off the streets and lock away dirt bags! Similar to the slum dweller, you can fail a floor and make it up on the next one. Just reach your quota of arrests for the zone. (never hurts to do more, uphold the law!) Holding space bar while patrolling the streets will allow you to see who’s guilty.
Anybody related to the objective will be guilty. Drug dealers are also always guilty. Kills of criminal will only count for 1 point, throw a dizzy grenade on those who resist arrest and slap the cuffs on them. If this fails, hide behind the person you’re arresting. His friends will wait to get a clear shot, leaving you time to complete your arrest.
- Nimble Fingers
- No in Fighting
- Kneecaper
- Rage Poison (Cause big fights, lots of arrests)
- Shotgun/Uzi
- Ammo Stealer
- Taser
Vampire
Playstyle : Stealth Boy
Roam around waiting for your 6th sense to find him. This can be tedious. Unless you’re tresspassing, take your time making SURE you know wich one it is. You want to avoid direct combat with him, he will mess you up! Damage yourself enough so you can just suck all or most of his blood to prevent him from turning into a werewolf.
I can’t prove it, but i think the werewolf will still be aligned to who he was when he was human. I’m not sure but i once had a werewolf, 1 shopkeeper and a 1 goon gang up on me. Didn’t end well. Be carefull and be sneaky.
- Remove Jugularious
- They’re Just Kissing
- Laser Ignore You
- Earwarp Whistle
- Blindenizer
- Cyanide Pill
Wrestler
Playstyle : Action Hero
Choose your opponents carefully. Melee weapons are allowed when you challenge them but not guns. Challenge people with guns rather than melee weapons, they will put their piece away. You however, can throw furniture at your opponent . Fridge to freeze, trash cans and toilets to poison but no fire barrels or explosive barrels! The fire or explosion damage will count as ranged and the challenged will be called off. Don’t cheap out on Muscly Pills.
Upgrade your traits to be better equiped for dealing with out of reach ranged enemies. Try to beat the slums and possibly industrial with your bare hands to grab as much exp as you can. You’re strong enough to take on these zones.
- Durabilitacious
- Butterfinger-er
- Knuckley
- Tank-Like
- Hard-Hat
- Armor Durability Spray
- Bracelet of Strength
The wresler starts with the trait ”Sucker”. Unless you want to get rid of it, visit the Loadout-O-Matic often.
Assassin
Comedian
Playstyle : Social Animal
This is a tough one. Try this ONLY when you have Chicken nuggets to spare. With luck or time, the perk ” Egg-Shell Walker” will come up. You want this! This perk allows you to tell jokes without anyone going hostile. This perk might take its time to come up or never be suggested at all in your run! So spend your chicken nuggets to buy the Four-Leaf Clover as a safety net. This is not a guanrantee but it sure will help!
If the bank tellers or bartenters like your jokes, you can simply ask for the key, objective item or ask them to leave. This is a big IF. You can also cause riots if you’re not carefull. Another thing you have to be carefull about your joke’s reach. Example: The bank teller likes your joke and grants you access with the safe combination, him and the goons let you pass no problem. If one goon in the back didn’t hear the joke, he will treat you as a threat and so will the goons who liked your joke 30 seconds ago. This occurs mostly in Biiig buildings. Get everyone out by polluting the vents and tell your joke outside.
- Egg-Shell Walker/Feature Act
- Infectious Spirit
- Homesickness Killer
- Friend of the Family
- Medical Professional
- Four-Leaf Clover
- Mini-Fridge
- Hypnotizer
Jock
Playstyle : Action Hero
Just smash everything. The Jock has a 2 exp gain for each wall/furniture/objects. Add that to the ”Wanton Destruction” Bonus and the kills of the owners of the things you smashed, thats alot of exp. This guy is litteraly a Bull in China Shop. Watch out for generators! It does a big 50 damage. You can upgrade your special ability but i choose not to. As you progress, the cops will be better equipped. Being public enemy n1 is not the greatest idea.
He also start with ”Sucker” so Loadout-O-Matics a favored over shops. Pick fights with gangster to collect their drugs and shoot up dope in a bathroom. Any undesirable effect can be.. Evacuated.
Syringes and other drugs will be of massive help for the Jock since his gunplay is terrible but he’s an excellent melee fighter, play with that.
- Clumsiness Forgiven
- Blaster Survivor
- Blaster Master
- Drug-A-Lug
- Durabilitacious
- Giant pill (Carefull with that!)
- Bulletproof Vest
- Time Bomb
Shapeshifter
Playstyle : Stealth Boy/Social Animal
I gave him 2 playstyle but really is just about who you assimilate. His quest ask that you kill specific classes so make the best of what you got. Poison the vents or hack if you are weaker than your target or just go take him out with a baseball bat if you’re stronger. Shrink ray will make this quest so much easier.
I suggest clearing as much objectives as you can as a Slum dweller to take advantage of his ”Studious” perk. Any effect applied on a host is on him, not you (unfortunatly ”Above the Law” will only apply to the person you bribed the cops with). Bright side is, you can test all the syringes on your host and abandon him before death to keep your health intact. Ride the yellow wave: Flush yourself to come out some other toilet! Usefull to get around the city unoticed and infiltrate whatever place you need.
- Any uprade of your Special Ability
- I’m Outtie
- Teleport-Happy
- Kneecaper
- Carboard Box
- Time Bomb
- Blindenizer
- First Aid Kit
Investement Banker
Playstyle : Action Hero/Social Animal
This guy start with 300$ and has the stats to get good threatning success chance.Buy your way to the mayor’s village or get there by force, you choose what is best. Make the best use of ”Shrewd Negociator” and visit Drug dealers before Loadout-O-Matics. Complete floor as fast you can and stack up coke bags for the 5th zone.
Your Big Quest allow you 60 seconds between each hits or 80 if you have ”Longer Status Effect+”. This timer can be put on hold if you smoke some cigarettes, keep a lighter close! Bartender’s cocktail will count as a drug and reset your ”Feelin’ good” timer. But watch out! There is a 5sec delay between you drinking it and receiving the bonus. If stuck with only negative syringes, use a toilet to purge the effects.
- Longer Status Effect+
- Shrewd Negociator+
- Trust Funder
- On The House
- Giant Pill
- Critter Upper
- Muscly Pill
Werewolf
Playstyle : Action Hero
Don’t get too zealous! The Crazy-Dizziness following your transformation will leave you defenseless. Until you can get rid of it, spend the last seconds of your transformation to run away from fights if you can’t finish them in werewolf form. Unless you’ve been seen turning back into human form, people will be looking for a werewolf. Your Big Quest is pretty easy to complete :Find 5 people in close proximity to each other and keep doing your special ability. Use regular melee attacks only when you want to disarm enemies.
Avoid the perks ”Long-Lunge” and ”Butterfinger-er”. You already have them in werewolf form and will be wasted perk choice. It’s easy to get carried away and feel unstoppable. This might lead to situations where you bit off more than you can chew (sorry). Start fights in human form with weapons (Ranged or Melee) and finish them in werewolf form. This will make sure you make the best use of bloodlust and make sure you recompose yourself safely.
- Clumsiness Forgiven
- Don’t Make Me Angry
- Increased Crit Chance
- Kneecaper
- Knuckley
- Kill Profiter/Healthenizer
- Muscly pill
- Bulletproof Vest
Cannibal
Playstyle : Action Hero
Try to avoid soldiers and being seing when you have your victory feast. People will warn you only once if they see you munching on elbow grease before trying to take you down. Your ability can be upgraded to not offend people or eat faster. Usefull to quickly eat your objective while cops fumble in your bear traps.
If you can, place some traps before the fights starts. Traps help you catch up with enemies faster than you or make an escape. You will anger alot of people with the Cannibal, always be ready for a fight.
- Blends In Nicely
- Durabilitatious
- Friend of the Common Folk
- Shop Drops
- Kill Healthenizer
- Sword
- Flamethrower (Burnt bodies will heal you for 2x the regular health value)
Slavemaster
Playstyle : Action Hero
*DISCLAMER*
I have not completed this run yet but failed many times in the 5th zone.
Yeah.. This is a tough one for me. Random NPCs will attack you and your slaves, once your slaves die they blow up, causing MORE people (and often the cops) to join in what is now a massive brawl. I bribe cops to make sure they look away when I enslave random pedestrians. Things can quickly turn into a riot just because 1 upper-cruster disagrees with your profession.
Lay low, take the backstreets and let your slaves work for you. They make for Kamikaze, door breachers or muscles. Avoid ”Infectious Spirit”! Once enslaved, the target’s health will lower to a certain amount no matter what.
- Blaster Survivor
- Clumsiness Forgiven
- No In-Fighting
- Nimble Fingers OR remove Poor Hand-Eye Coordination
- Safe In Crowds
- Ammo Stealer
- Dizzy Grenades
Zombie
Playstyle : Action
Keep the momentum going. Clean out the whole floor and grow your horde before you go for objectives. You want to overwhelm the city, random zombies might complete mission for you and empty the guns of humans.
Keep a few bodyguards around. They make for great meatshield or volonteers when your objective is destroying slime barrels. Spend your perks 50/50 between yourself and your followers. Send them in first as bullet sponges and then come in, spitting on everyone like a Llama.
- Butterfinger-er
- Confident in Crowds
- Durabilitacious
- Infectious spirit
- Loniless Killer
- Kill Healthenizer
- Melee Durabilty
- Necronomicon
Firefighter
Playstyle : Action Hero/Stealth Boy
This is a weird one for me. He’s got good stats with good starting weapons and the ability to be allowed in any building without being attacked by usually hostile occupants. Start a fire in a building and take what you need while everybody runs out. If things go sour, a fire will call your fireman friends.
You’re going to want to hurry up on this on. Arsonists can be anyone in the streets. Focus on extinguinshing fires before taking them out. They only carry 3 molotovs. Getting a taser to lock them in place and let the cops or propriety owner take them out is the way i go about to prevent me from failing my Big Quest. Wait around too long and the arsonists will overwhelm you, Go fast!
- Burning Bullets
- I’m Outtie
- Secret Vandalizer
- Stats Upgrade
- Taser
- Sugar
- Safe Buster
End note.
I’d love to hear what you think of this guide. If you have more questions or need help for your Big Quest feel free to add me!
