For Your Chronicle players who are collecting achievements, this guide lists all achievements and explains how to obtain them, let’s check it out.
Rank Achievements
Tip: When not performing any actions, just Pray to gain Exp, even if your destiny is full, you still gain Exp for your Rank.A lot of immediate actions, like Pray, provide exp, but also long term actions like quests and achievements provide Exp multipliers, making it easier to Rank up the further you get in the game.
The achievements concerning Rank aren’t hard to get and should unlock automatically while you progress through the game. It will be quite impossible to miss these if you aim to finish the game entirely.
The following factors influence you Rank:
- Exp gained through actions
- Upgrade actions
- Chronicles completed
- (in-game) Achievements completed
- Talent (gained through Dark Ritual)
- Pride completion bonuses
- Exp multiplier
- Equipment
- Secondary equipment
- Ally (party members) bonusses
- Sacred Ritual through Routine
- Class bonus through Chivalry spirit (Warrior)
- Envy Routine level
Rank 10 should be feasible right after you unlocked Dark Ritual very early in the game in the first area.
Rank 20 is gained somewhere after entering the Forest for the first time.
Rank 30 is likely gained during your training at academy.
Rank 50 is usually gotten before you defeat the Demon King for the first time. Don’t worry if you didn’t got it, plenty of opportunity ahead. Did you buy the Auto Sacred Ritual from the shop yet?
Rank 100 requires a few reincarnation or some long boring serious grinding. Late game it will be easy to reach Rank 100, so don’t sweat it.
Dungeon Boss Achievements
The achievements concerning the dungeon bosses are rewarding (Title and Achievement) for a task that your worked very hard for. Each boss will be challenging for the stage you are at in the game and is often required to defeat before you can advance to the next area. Most areas have boss dungeon.
To defeat any boss, make sure you have invested some Habit in your Class Routine if you are a Warrior or Sorcerer and apply the corresponding formation when attacking the boss. Invest in the Familiar Greater Demon, or Lesser Demon while the Greater isn’t available yet. On top of that, grind your Gluttony to boost your (Magical)Attack and HP.
When you fail to best a boss, analyze the bosses behaviour. A few things to check:
- What type of attack is it using? Physical or Magical? -> Increase your (Magical)Defence accordingly.
- What is the attack pattern?
- Does it take a rest?
- Does it need to prepare a powerful attack?
- Which attacks are the strongest/fastest?
- Does it have weaknesses? e.g. Wind Magic vs Earth type boss.
With this information, plan your party layout. Think of thinks like:
- Determine which member is the strongest and place that ally in such a way that it has the highest chance of defeating the boss.
- Figure out which of your skills could boost the next attack,
- Could it be worth to sacrifice some of the first party members?
- Could it help to equip your first party members with a very quick skill to win some time for the last part of the party?
This may seem like a lot of work, but a little bit of preparation could save you days of grinding Gluttony. Spending an hour should usually be more than enough to get the perfect setup to defeat or boss, or to know what you needs to work on to get there.
If you need to grind some more levels of your party members, check out my guide on Seeds and Research farming.
Note that is sometimes also just takes a little bit of luck. Try again if you were bested by that one powerful attack, maybe the boss won’t use it the next time.
The Orc is the boss of the Village area and is your first real challenge. On defeat you will also earn a Party Slot! Can’t get much better than that.
The Treant is the boss of the Forest area and shouldn’t be a big issue. You either grind Mushrooms or Pork to boost your attack. The earned title is helpful in getting Wood without grinding the dungeon.
The Purification Slime is the boss of the Academy. He can be quite tough, but luckily, the Academy offers a lot of upgrade actions to complete and loops to grind which should help.
The Elder Treant is the boss of the Spirit Spring area. His strength is to debuff your party by drunkeness. Just like the Rock Golem, the same strategy applies, either kill him quick or hold out long enough for the debuff to wear off. Fire magic seemed to help me here, but I don’t have proof it is actually a weakness. Some significant Gluttony/Research/Seeds grinding may be needed to beat him. The title it rewards is very useful for the Sorcerer path.
The Scarlet Dragon is the boss of the Ancient Ruins area and is a difficult foe that may put you to a halt for a while. Do not try to fight him with fire, that is useless. Water magic should help, but physical attacks are fine too. Follow the general strategy in the beginning of this section to best him. Grinding the other dungeons in the area may help you get sufficient levels for yourself and your allies.
The King Cobra is the boss of the Desert area after you graduate. His strength is debuffing and he consumes your Holy Water through his attack, lessening damage dealt, but it is a costly deal. Do not try to best this boss in your first reincarnation.
The Griffon is the boss of the Valley Village. The other monsters in the area are more interesting due to their passive skills so if the Griffon is too hard to beat initially, focus on the other monsters instead and simply reincarnate when it takes too long.
The Memory Eater is the boss of the Holy City. It requires some preparation considering his skills gives you a crippling debuf through ‘Oblivion’. Make sure you regeneration is up to par before facing him. The area in itself is pretty difficult due to the high requirement of Destiny and Gold. It could take a few reincarnations before you can finish the area, let alone defeat the boss.
The Corrupted Great Bird is the boss of the Evil City. If you managed to finish the area, this boss shouldn’t be too hard. Handle it like an upgrade regular enemy and you should be fine.
The Fire Drake is the boss of the Dragon Village. The monsters in this area are very powerful and you require them to even hope to survive one round against the Drake. You’ll probably need two or three reincarnations before you are able to defeat him. The title he rewards is arguably the best in the game.
Story Achievements
Story achievements unlock whenever you finished a part of one of the stories in the game. The stories altogether write the path you took in Your Chronicle.
The first achievement in the game. Defeat your father in training and receive this achievement. You have learned the basics and you are ready for the story that lies ahead.
Save the girl from the bullies. If you make the choice to fight the bullies this achievement will unlock after defeating the bullies.
This time you saved the girl from the demons! Proceed through Academy on your first playthrough and this should unlock pretty automatically.
You have to save the Smith’s village from the monsters by making the right order of choices. When you unlock ‘Arrived in a cave’ be careful with your next choice. Just go and defeat the bandits, don’t wait for reinforcements. After that, read the notes and defeat the monster at the new area ‘Smith’s village’.
It might take you a few reincarnation before you can defeat Tournament 6 in the Academy. After you did, follow the story line Iari and become her friend in the Smith’s village.
Leave Norn behind in the Village when moving on to the Forest area. This will lead to a new story line.
Can be done in the same story line as the previous achievement. Leave Norn behind and follow the story through the Academy city. After defeating the Rock Golem talk to the Receptionist and unlock ‘Go to Guild 2’. Go to the Village and try to ‘talk’ with Father to get the engagement ring you couldn’t get before. Follow the rest of the story and defeat the Demon King to get the second engagement ring.
A very tough achievement to get. I wrote a separate guide for this achievement.
Event Achievements
Events are mile stones you make during you story progression. Some require patience because you can’t get it in your current reincarnation yet. No worries, you can always try again in your next run.
This achievement is earned in your first hours of gameplay by summoning the Slime. You can’t miss this achievement, unless you simply refuse to summon him.
This achievement is earned by reading all the books in the library of the Academy. It requires some serious destiny and may not be possible in your first reincarnation. By reading the tooltip text of the upgrade action, you can actually read the story of what happened a few years before your arrival at the Academy.
This achievement is earned after completing all the actions that derive from the action ‘Enter the slums’ at the Academy. Prepare to pay quite some gold and hand out bread and other resources that you worked very hard for. This may not be possible in your first run because you simply won’t be able to reach certain amounts of resources. Upgrading your allies may help, but is not worth the grind for this achievement alone.
This achievement is earned after completing all the actions that derive from the Orphanage at the Academy. Just like the previous achievement, it may be difficult to get the right amount of resources needed here but with a bit of grinding and the right party setup you just might get this.
This achievement is earned after clearing all the actions in the Knights training area at the Academy. The Knights training area unlocks after beating Tournament 6 and talking to Iari. The actions in the Training are require a lot of Statue of Musle and maximum stamina.
This achievement is earned after learning all the recipis at the Cooking Workshop. The Cooking Workshop is unlocked after defeating Tournament 2 and talking Nali. All actions and recipes cost quite some gold and some ingredients cannot be obtained in your first reincarnation. Don’t worry too much about this achievement, after a two or three reincarnations this achievement will be a breeze.
This achievement is earned after conducting all the research at the Monster’s Laboratory. The Monster’s Laboratory is unlocked after defeating Tournament 4 and talking to Lofarr. Don’t do these upgrades unless your allies are maxed out on summons! It is not worth the sacrifice of research if you can use it for your allies. It also requires a lot of scrap metal which can take quite a while to grind and requires access to the Ancient Ruins.
This achievement is earned after completing the entire conversation with the Bishop in the Academy. You can talk to the Bishop be choosing ‘Steer clear of the slums’ instead of ‘Go deeper into the Slums’. This requires 666 Godess Statues (not all at once) so don’t do this without the necessary Queue slots and allies/titles that can generate wood and flowers.
Reincarnation Achievements
Reincarnation can be done after defeating the Demon King and picking an ending, or after giving up your current story/pride challange (after your first Reincarnation). A Reincarnation allows you to start over, but with some of the bonusses you accumilated through your gameplay, like unlocked allies and their levels, making you much more powerful and giving you a head start.
Reincarnations should be used to retell the story you already completed to gain a bonus in destiny, allowing you to explore more in your next story. You also get some nice rubies which you can spend on some very important purchases in the shop (Auto Sacred Ritual, Party Slots, Queue Slots, etc…).
This achievement is earned when you choose to reincarnate after you defeated the Demon King for the first time.
This achievement is earned after three reincarnations. It may feel it bit grindy and you may be tempted by exploring the other stories, but go for Willing Revenge at least twice. If you don’t replay the stories, the newer ones will become unbearable grindy.
This achievement is earned after five reincarnations. You might be ready to try the third story now, but it may take some effort.
This achievement is earned after ten reincarnations. Willing Revenge should be done about five times now giving you that much needed completion bonus. You are now ready for the forth story.
This achievement is earned after fifty reincarnations. By now you should have completed the first five stories at least ones and probably twenty to thirty Pride challanges.
This achievement is earned after hundred reincarnations. This achievement is difficult to get because of the sheer amount of time it take to run through a reincarnation. Fastest way if to stomp out Willing Revenge as fast as possible by skipping all the steps that are not required to Graduate and get you to the Demon King which you will kill in one hit anyway.
Chronicle Achievements
Chronicle Achievements are earned by completing a new ending of the gaming. There are in total 6 ends, each one more difficult than the previous one. Each Chronicle, except for the first, Willing Revenge, has a set of requirements that need to be met. These requirements are a minimum to be met, or you would get stuck in your playthrough. The requirements are not a recommendation on when to start the Chronicle. Although it is tempting to experience the newly available story, it is recommended to stick to the first two chronicles for your first few reincarnations to prevents days or even weeks or months of grinding because you barely met the requirements in your last playthrough of your current chronicle. Unless you like extreme grinding, take the easier path and you might enjoy the game just some more.
Gained upon clearing your first playthrough by defeating the Demon King, finishing Willing Revenge.
Gained upon clearing your first run of the second Chronicle, A Moment of Peace, by defeating the Demon King.
Gained upon clearing your first run of the third Chronicle, Hero of the Holy Sword, by defeating the Demon King with the Holy Sword.
Gained upon clearing your first run of the fourth Chronicle, The End of Revenge, by defeating the Demon King with Root Magic.
Gained upon clearing your first run of the fifth Chronicle, Each Feeling, by defeating the Demon King through any of the three choices.
Gained upon clearing your first run of the sixth Chronicle, Thirst for Victory.
Special Achievements
Special achievements mark the unlocking of a new feature of the game which will help you significantly in your progress through the story.
Gained upon unlocking the Dark Ritual feature in the Village area, allowing you get gain Talent, improving your Sacred Ritual majorly.
Gained upon unlocking Gluttony when talking with the chef in the Forest area. Gluttony is crucial in boosting your stats and is often your final straw on overcoming difficult battles.
Gained upon unlocking Sloth shortly after your first reincarnation. Sloth helps you automate Habit assignment and provides Queue slots to automate actions and upgrades. Note that you can only automate actions that you have completed before.
Gained upon unlocking Greed shortly after your first reincarnation. Greed allows you to spend research on various boosts like inspiration, exp and seed gain but also boosts other rewards. Perhaps more importantly, it also boosts your Dark Ritual with each research spend on Greed.
Gained upon unlocking Pride shortly after finishing Chronicle 4 for the first time. Pride allows you to gain permanent boosts by finishing a Chronicle with a penalty applied, weakening one or more core components of the game like your Habit or Sacred ritual.
Gained upon unlocking Envy by defeating the Mutant in the Demon Kingdom after completing the fourth ending. Envy allows you to boost your stats or rewards for the duration of the reincarnation. On top of that, you can increase the Envy level permanently, boosting the level up speed for future playthroughs. To level up the Envy levels, you need complaints which are generated by overflowing your maximum Sin.
Secret Achievements
The secret achievements require spending Sin on resource upgrades and can be divided in two categories, Stench and Anchovy Sandwich.
The easiest way is to level a bit further until the Evil City. Then unlock and max out the Gravekeeper Ghoul. The regular Ghoul from much earlier should be maxed out by now as well and both together will give you a Stench Max of 60.
The base Stench you get is 10. 10 + 60 is already 70.
Next is to invest Sin on ‘Inventory Creation: Cleaner’, which should be unlocked by after three reincarnations, this will give another +10.
After that you can upgrade it another 30 levels through ‘Inventory – Cleaner+’, which gives another 30.
At this point you have reach the maximum Stench you can get through upgrades. The only other way to collect more is by investing in the Sin Inventory expansion ‘Stench Max+’.
This gives a total of:
Base: 10
Allies: 40 + 20 = 60
Sin upgrades: 10 + 30 = 40
Total: 110
Having Smelly Satchels will help filling the max Stench because it regenerates, as well as Hell Butterfly and Sludge Slime.
Will unlock when reaching 50 Stench.
Will unlock when reaching 100 Stench.
Will unlock when reaching 200 Stench. This requires you to invest 90 Sin in Stench Max+.
Will unlock when reaching 500 Stench. This requires you to invest 390 Sin in Stench Max+.
Will unlock when reaching 1000 Stench. This requires you to invest 890 Sin in Stench Max+.
After 5 reincarnations, ‘Inventory Creation: Hunter’ should unlock in the Akashic Records and purchasing the upgrade should increase your Anchovy Sandwich Max with 5, each upgrade after that will increase the max with 1, up to 30 times.
This gives a total of:
Base: 10 (After Anchovy related action upgrades in the Coastal City.)
Sin upgrades: 5 + 30 = 35
Total: 45
When you reach the maximum of 100 you can do Farmwork in the village after a reincarnation to save up the Anchovy Sandwiches, helping you out a lot further down the line.
Will unlock when reaching 10 Anchoy Sandwiches.
Will unlock when reaching 50 Anchoy Sandwiches. This requires you to invest 5 Sin in Anchovy Sandwich Max+.
Will unlock when reaching 100 Anchoy Sandwiches. This requires you to invest 55 Sin in Anchovy Sandwich Max+.
