For RuneScape players, this is an introduction to Taskman Mode – what it is, how it works and why play it! Let a task generator guide you through everything the game has to offer, for new players and veterans alike.
What is Taskman?
If you’ve just started playing RuneScape and you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed, you’ve come to the right place. Taskman Mode is the critically acclaimed anti-bankstanding tool that helps you explore new content, old content and everything in between, and ensures you always have something to do.
Your account can follow the tasks that are randomly generated on our website. The tasks range from fighting the mild-tempered Telos, going insane in the Mage Training Arena, or if you dare, go against the odds to catch the gruesome and infamous Big Bass. The tasks are separated into tiers based on difficulty.
By default you start in the Beginner tier – where you’ll be asked to complete some easy achievements around the world to help give you a feel for where things are and how things work – and progress to the next tier upon fully completing the last, but if you would prefer having tasks randomly generated across any tier, that is also available! The goal is to complete everything, have fun along the way, and put yourself to the test.
We offer two ways to play:
Taskman: In which you create a fresh ironman account and begin rolling tasks, using our ruleset (includes joining the leaderboards!).
Taskmain: In which you can use an already existing account or make one fresh, but you may roll tasks from any tier, reroll at will and are not bound by our rules.
Do I have your attention? Head to the website[taskman.rs] to get started!
Setting up your account
On the site’s landing page, you can scroll down to the bottom of the page for a link to our Discord[discord.gg], where there are hundreds of similarly minded taskies ready to give you tips and advice on your journey (we were all new once!).
Clicking the register button in the top right corner will bring you to this page, where you will enter your basic account information:
PLEASE NOTE: Our site has no access to any of your RuneScape account information, it’s all safe!
You will then be sent to the Dashboard where you’ll be able to generate your first task! Before we do that, though, let’s take a quick detour to the Settings to take a look at something important.
We’re interested in what’s on the right there. That big red button. If you’ve just made a fresh RuneScape account and you’re willing to play by our rules[taskman.rs], don’t touch the button! All new accounts on our site are Taskmen by default. That button is for a player who wishes to become a Taskmain, which means you will be much less restricted (but you’ll also not appear on the leaderboards). Be warned: there is no going back from becoming a Taskmain, but you may downgrade at any time. Once you’ve decided what kind of taskie you want to be, head back to the dashboard and hit that big, juicy “GENERATE TASK”!
Taskman vs Taskmain
We should also note that playing Taskman mode tends to be a lot more of a grind than normal RuneScape – the nature of rolling a task and not being allowed to do anything else until it’s done means that if you get unlucky it can be a little disheartening. Taskman isn’t for everyone, remember you can always switch to Taskmain if you’re not enjoying your grind!
And that’s all there is to it! You’re now ready to embark on your own totally unique RuneScape adventure (seriously, we have almost 3,000 tasks with more arriving all the time). Join us on Discord and in our in-game clan chat, Taskmaniacs and we’ll be able to answer any questions you might have.
That’s all we are sharing today in RuneScape Taskman Mode – Let RNG Decide Your Fate, if there are anything you want to add please feel free to leave a comment below and we’ll see you soon.
