Risk of Rain 2: Multiplayer for Four Players

So you’ve just queued up, got into a nice lobby with two other lovely people! The timer ticks down as you wait expectantly for a fourth to join you. They do not.

So what went wrong? What awful curse of eternal third wheeling have you brought upon yourself?
Fear not traveler, you may rest easy with the knowledge that your daily sacrifices to the blood gods have not tainted your reputation, instead, the game itself reserves the fourth and final slot for invites, unless of course, two people join the lobby at practically the same time.

However, there is a way to bypass this…. interesting… design choice.

In your lovely three man lobby, quickly click the copy lobby ID button above the player list.

After you have copied the lobbies ID, hit leave Quickplay.

Wait 1-3 seconds, this will allow the matchmaking system to find a new third player.

Finally, click join clipboard lobby.

Congratulations. You have become the fourth player.

The only drawbacks to this method is a potential host switch.
