Chasing the “A Pocket Full of Fish” achievement means tracking down 22 fish scattered across Otterly Lost, and the game does not exactly hand you a tidy checklist. Some of them sit right out in the open, while a handful are tucked behind sealed caves, waterfall walls, and even an optional area you may not have unlocked yet. I put this together so you can knock out the whole collection without the aimless swimming I did early on.
Below you’ll find a numbered map reference first, then a breakdown of exactly where each fish hides. A few of these gave me real trouble — the ones gated behind shells, ore, and the Floating Isle — so I’ve called those out so you know what to prepare before you go hunting.

Open-Water and Easy-to-Miss Fish
These are the ones you’ll mostly stumble across while exploring. The Black Halibut sits at the bottom of the sea in the north of the map, so you’ll need to dive deep for it. The Chinook Salmon hides inside an open cave in the sea to the north-west, and the Arctic Cod is right next to some coral in the north-western part of the sea.
For the Arctic Char, look inside a hut near Marve and Mella. Meanwhile the Arctic Grayling is found under the frozen lake, next to a waterfall. Over in the western sea, the Tinca Tinca sits in an open cave next to some jellyfish.
The Common Bream is one worth flagging — it’s in a box on top of an island in the west of the map. If you haven’t picked up any movement upgrades yet, don’t force the direct climb; there’s an easier route to the top around the back of the island. I wish I’d known that sooner instead of repeatedly sliding off the front.
Near the surface of the sea, the Common Barbel is tucked inside some large seaweed to the south-west of the middle of the map. The Thymallus Thymallus is also in seaweed, this time in the south-east. And the Common Roach sits next to some coral in the eastern sea.
Caves, Sealed Entrances, and Tight Openings
This batch is where the game starts testing you. The Moon Jelly took me longer than I expected: you first have to enter the tide cave entrance, then travel fairly deep through that cave until you reach the fish. The fish itself lives in the southern part of the map, just south of a small island, underneath the beach.
The Common Carp is at the top of the shipwreck in the south of the map. Fair warning, that fish icon is genuinely hard to spot on the map unless you’re fully zoomed in, so don’t assume it’s missing.
Two of these are gated behind resources, so it pays to stock up first:
- The Common Perch is inside a sealed cave in the north-eastern sea and needs 40 shells to open.
- The Sockeye Salmon is in a sealed cave at the bottom of a waterfall in the north of the map. It costs 20 ore to open, and once unlocked you’ll also need a fully upgraded rock to break the wall behind it.
For the rest of this group, the Northern Pike is in a sea cave with a very small entrance near the middle of the map — you may swim right past the opening if you’re not looking closely. The Lake Trout is also near the middle of the map, inside a cave behind a waterfall.
The Floating Isle Koi
All four koi share the same unlock requirement: you need access to the Floating Isle. That means saving the owl’s egg from the lake and returning it to the top of the nearby tree, just to the west of Thalor the Turtle. If you haven’t done that yet, none of these four are reachable, so knock the egg quest out first.
Once you’re in, here’s where each one sits:
- Ki Sanke Koi — in the water, hidden in a bush on the southern side of the Floating Isle.
- Benigoi Koi — between some bamboo in the eastern water of the Floating Isle.
- Kigoi Koi — above some coral in the water near the middle of the Floating Isle.
- Sanke Koi — in some seaweed, in the northern water of the Floating Isle.
Conclusion
That’s the full set of 22, and once you’ve bagged the koi on the Floating Isle the achievement “A Pocket Full of Fish” should pop without much trouble. Take the sealed caves and the Moon Jelly cave at a steady pace — those are the spots most likely to send you backtracking. Good luck out there.
