Half-Life: Source – How to skip Chapter 7 “Power Up”

Doing this trick starts at the beginning of the chapter.

As you can see here, this is the start of the chapter. Through this doorway is a big scary blue alien and some HECU troops. Just ignore them the entire time and try to go fast so the B.S.B.A. doesn’t set you on fire or anything.

You need to go into the doorway on the right after going through the first doorway. Continue right, and you should see this wall of barricades. Destroying this is the player’s end goal at the end of the chapter. However, instead we’re going to just climb over it.

First thing to do is to jump onto the lower middle barricade. You’ll probably have to do a crouch jump.

Then, do another crouch jump again in the middle. You should be on the top of the wall.

Now that you’re on the top of the wall, literally all you have to do is just walk off the other side.

Congratulations, you’ve skipped the processes of getting the tram working and killing the big scary blue alien. You now continue on to the next chapter, On a Rail. The downside to doing this is that you don’t actually have the tram for this part. If you’re trying to speedrun the game though or something, this trick is very helpful.
