For Galaxy Life players, this guide will teach you the basics of building a strategic Base in Galaxy Life.
How to build a solid Base
Some Buildings are more valuable than others.
There are 3 main aspects to consider first:
- Can things be stolen/be gone when it is destroyed?
- In an attack, can the Building defend you?
- Is the placement of the building overall beneficial for the whole Base?
To answer these questions we have to rank all Buildings by these aspects and sort them from normal building to core building.
First: Mines/Houses/Banks/Silos/Star Base
All these building contain valuable loot that can be stolen from you.
In Houses/Mines only the max amount of Coins/Minerals currently collected can be stolen.
In Banks/Silos it is the same depending on its storage Coins/Minerals can be stolen.
Exception only in Warp Gates/Bunkers,
troops currently in a Warp Gate/Bunker will be lost, when the Warp Gate/Bunker is destroyed.
Second: Defensive Towers/Bunkers
These Buildings will help you defend against an attack.
There are 6 Types of Towers and 2 Types of Bunkers.
Third: How to place a Building
It is not recommended clustering each type of building together.
All your Base needs some kind of strategic placement.
More often than not, a wrongly placed building can cause you to lose.
What about the Walls?
It is the same as with every castle, standing in first row to grant protection.
In this case Galaxy Life is a bit different.
Walls are often used to protect your Defensive Towers.
Standing in front row are Houses and Mines, the reason being is that they tank alot of damage, due to its high health.
This can buy you some time in a battle.
Tip: When you are about to log off you can collect all Houses and Mines, so they will not give away too many resources.
FAQ
It’s just for visuals, when leveling buildings they will get bigger and may block the view behind them.
Also there is no point in upgraded Mines/Houses/etc. in a base building showcase. Why are some pictures of Colony’s and not Main Base?
There is not much difference between the Main Base and Colony bases, however there are 3 buildings that are only available to your Main Base.
These are currently: Observatory, Refinery, Alliance Building
And most of your Bases will be Colony’s due to only having one Main Base.
Why not protect Bunkers with walls?
All units move in this game and why should you protect moving targets by stationery walls.
Also more often than not the enemy will come into the range of the Bunker at the edge of its detection, so the battle will happen far away.
After all troops are gone, you protect an empty/useless building.
My Base does not use Warp Gates, it is only for Saving and Farming Coins/Minerals?
I tried to have some Bases in the Pictures for these strategies.
As you can see there are still Bunkers in these Bases.
It is easy to recycle and build up the Warp Gate and the Factory of your choice.
Ez, why not nuke it?
Well sure thing, but it depends on the Star Base.
All Bases up to Star Base level 7 are not worth to nuke them.
So for that reason you can see a change in Bunker placements for the higher level bases.
Tip: Place them 12 spaces vertical or/and 20 spaces diagonal from each other so only one can be nuked at a time.
Why no-walled Cannon Towers before level 7?
Due to their low range and ground only targeting it is not worth it to wall them, when you are limited on your walls.
Also, you can’t place them behind a house/mine because the range will not go as far as a bazooka attack range.
This will change on your Star Base 7 and after.
Why have some bases decorations and some don’t?
First to say, for visual it is better to have a clean map – at least for the showcase
In decorations and Plants/Obstacles you can place units, so it is recommended to only
place them in a 2×2 square within the base.
Why are some pictures in a different quality?
Steam is limiting me to a max. 2mb upload of each picture.
So I have to scale them down in size, for this reason I have to use a filter.
Where can I find more info about Buildings?
There are alot of different ways to get more information on these topics.
The best way is to use the Galaxy Life Wiki, I personally thank them for this archive of important information.
