ELDEN RING Lichdragon Fortissax Guide for Melee

Lichdragon’s pattern is full of trick that fools old dark soul users. If you think Darkeater Midir, or the other dragons in Old soulborne series’ you have to think exactly opposite.

• – If you keep your position under the belly, he will attack AE lightning that you can’t either dodge or block. Don’t be there unless his pattern is special pettern that you need to be there.
• – If you keep your position around of his tail, he will swipe and then AE lightning. You will get hit either the tail or following lightning. Don’t be there unless his pattern is standing downward breath attack.

– You can hit his head but only few hit. Certain pattern has blindspot on under the belly and tail position not like Midir. Pattern that you have to be under the belly is

• 1. flying-bodyslamming from sky
• 2. Standing downward breath attack

Unless these pattern, keep your position on his head and keep distance a bit. Not to close, not to far.

– His melee attack has 3 chain hit. Melee – lightning – lightning. Forget about dodge his actual body hibox. You have to move outside of his hitbox of his body and think about his lightning 2 chain attack that following right after his melee attack.
If you try to dodge his actual body, iframe window is shorter than chain lightning combo. You will get hit and then his next melee attack will instantly kill you no matter how you have high vig or defense.

– After his melee attack combe you can hit 1 time his head. He is very fragile so one hit is enough.

– His lightning attack that slams the ground has 6 way direction wave. But there is always save spot. You can move sideway and if you see wave is coming to you, time to dodge TOWARD HIM ( don’t dodge backward or sideway )

– There’s fog on the ground. If you keep get stack of this debuff it will kill you. Use item to remove the debuff or try not to be there as much as you can.

– Phase 2 has few changes.

• 1. Lightning slam attack will have both hand 2 time attack. You can move side way and find the safe spot or dodge toward him, then move backward immediately for next lightning.
• 2. He flies then he will grab his lightning his hand and he will do spin swiping attack. I believe that it has 4 hits. Therefore first his attack you have to be outside of his hitbox then you have to roll 3 time 7 o`clock or 9 o`clock. Timing is when he is exactly middle that is beteen his top point and the ground. Or you can keep focus on his hand that is being raised.

3. When he roars, run toward him and attack his belly or hand.

– If you see a lightning effect on your body, it will spawn a lightning few seconds later. If you keep move, it will eventally stop and hit lightning on the last location. If you keep in same location you will get hit. And he will try to attack you if you get hit from this lightning strike.

– He has 3 type of breath attack.
1. He flies and move BACKWARD. You have to keep close as much as you can.
2. Standing – Move toward tail then hit his belly or tail.
3. Horizontal Standing – Run sideway toward his tail then attack his belly or tail.

– There is one most safest pattern. When he flies then slam his body towards ground, you can dodge his body-slamming then attack few times. This is longest dps time I could have. 2~3 hit was farily enough because he will debuff you lightning spawn debuff on location. If you don’t move you will get hit the lightning strike

I didn’t use any summon or magic or long ranged weapon like spear or ultra great sword. If you use summon and some longer range than my super-short curvedsword it will make easier your battle against the lich dragon.
