For Divided Reigns players, this is a guide that help you to navigating the pits under Kaifek, if you are lost in the pits, this guide will help you out.
What are the Kaifek pits?
Kaifek is the capital city of Hess-Erabi and is the last gateway before the castle. Kaifek was a booming trading center before the the kingdom’s defeat to the Vooresh, but it is still the leading trade capitol of Hess-Erabi nonetheless, even if it is not flourishing like before.
Kaifek was built thousands of years ago around a beautiful oasis and nested securely between protective mountains formed by the volcano at Mt. Gulag. During an eruption centuries ago, the oasis caved into a subterranean cave just under the floor where the water stood, leaving now a large and ever growing sinkhole that is slowly swallowing the city of Kaifek.
In this cavern, the water tore out numerous chambers underground thus creating an elaborate and very confusing maze of caverns under the ancient city. Most who venture into them to explore or find rumored treasures are often never seen again.
Understanding how the Pits work
The Kaifek pits begin in what is called the “Pit Hub”. This is the large chamber with the rope leading back up to Kaifek and the two very unlucky guards posted there to warn off travelers. Any time you are doing a new path you have been given either from the Wiggle Man or people from Kaifek, they ALL must start on this map, the Pit Hub
How the pits are programmed – Pit Chambers
Their are only actually FOUR Pit Chamber maps. They are programmed to repeat themselves every single time you go out any exit. That is why if you go into a pit chamber and then immediately turn around and go back the way you came, the pit you just left is now different. So because of this, this guide can’t show you the exact map you’ll be on, but understand that all Pit Chambers are shaped like a CROSS. Each Pit Chamber only has four possible exits. A North, South, East and West. This is important to know because the directions you will receive will not specifically say “North, then East”. Instead they will be telling you which way to turn in the next Pit Chamber to then go out of that chamber in whatever direction they told you to turn.
