Here is a guide on how to unlock each character.
How to unlock each character in Brick Odyssey
Note that once you unlock each character, you do not need to finish the game to unlock it. This means once you achieve the requirements, the character is unlocked.
Ranger
The boss deals ranged attacks, and the attacks get increasingly faster until the stage is reset. It is recommended you get some bricks that are able to destroy bricks, using damage upgrade bricks or relics or increase your reset threshold.
When the stage resets, the warchief places the ball in the middle and aims the ball at a specific point. Kill the boss by damaging its health and the boss will be destroyed.
Elementalist
You can make this easier by getting the Map relic which allows you to see battles and chests. As this game is a roguelike, the position of the elementalist is random, meaning that you need a bit of luck to find them.
If you do not spot the elementalist at World 1, you must restart. This is because you have to find the elementalist in each world to unlock him. After world 1, you will be guaranteed to meet him if you go into the ? spots.
The hardest part is simply it requires luck. You can play the game normally but if you do not spot the elementalist by World 1 then you must restart.
Shade
To start off, start your game, click “Choose Relic.” then click “Skip Relics.” This will give +1 reset threshold, which will you need for this next part. Also when you finish your 1st (or 2nd) encounter, do not choose any brick upgrades that may interfere with the ball’s trajectory, such as pyroball (as that would guarantee a bounce) and potentially rocket, multiball and explosive. You may pick any other, though I recommend getting Fury brick if you can.
You should get a level layout that looks like this. It should appear on either the 2nd or 3rd encounter, and if you do not see this map layout by the 3rd encounter you should restart your run.
Now once you are in this map, you have to shoot the paddle while moving. This will make the ball move 45 degrees depending on where you’re moving (45 degrees to the right if you’re moving right and same with the left). If the ball bounces on the paddle or lands in the ball-kill zone, restart your run. You can also, for more precision, slow your ball down so that it uses a 15 degree angle.
What happens next totally depends on RNG. You are either lucky that the ball killed everyone on the screen or you have to restart. When the ball hits the blocks and stays up for long enough, it should reset the stage. This is, without a doubt, the hardest character to unlock as it requires good luck and timing.
What makes this specific map layout ideal is the higher level bricks at the bottom, giving the ball more time to stay upwards. Also, this map has a really low reset threshold, allowing the ball to stay high for longer (hence why it is recommended to skip the relics at the beginning).
Engineer
For this, you will need a lot of brick upgrades that destroy the bricks, such as Explosive, Rocket, Pyroball, or Multi-ball. Explosive and Rocket are ideal as they damage bricks simultaneously, and pyroball damages bricks without bouncing back. You may also choose relics which increase the ball’s speed or adds some modifier to the ball. Detonator may be useful in case you hit the reset threshold and the rockets haven’t been hit.
Now all you need is a level layout with a lot of bricks. There are multiple options for this in World 1. If you fail to get the Engineer in World 1, you should restart. The hard part of getting the Engineer is that you are fighting enemies, so you must destroy 25 bricks in 5 seconds before all enemies are killed.
