1. We are going to settings and switch “Screen Size” to “Windowed” after that change resolution from your current to 1280×720 and apply it.
2. Then switch “Screen Size” to “FullScreen” and change resolution to yours screen resolution.
3. Actually thats all) All thing is that you need to press Alt + Enter (it will change Screen Size from Fullscreen to Winodow) before your death.

I dont understand exactly: You have to turn the game to windowed mode, save changes, turn resolution to 1280×720, save again, then turn back fullscreen and resolution and save again, and if you die press alt+enter before reverting to your last save? I tryed playing at 1280×720 fullscreen and it did not worked : /
Also seen a youtube video suggesting to revert your Nvidia graphics driver back to an older version
