In this guide of After The Fall, I will be going over the few types of Snowbreader currently in the game After the Fall along with their strengths, weaknesses, where they can appear and how often they may appear.
The Basics of Snowbreaders
What is a Snowbreader?
A Snowbreader is the zombie-based antagonist hive-mind of the After the Fall game, based on the limited lore we have available we can see that after “The Fall” happened most of the world was killed off, leaving those corpses to rise once more in a more albino form.
How adapted to the cold are Snowbreaders?
Snowbreaders are covered in snow and ice, hence the name meaning they survive very well. Often they can hear gunshots from your guns and can easily see you if you venture too close to them.
If you only want to learn about 1 type of Snowbreader, you can select it on the right of the guide page.
Snow Breader Types
The order provided is the order the guide will follow:
Common Snowbreader: The standard and most found Snowbreader is the…. well Snowbreader, they are characterised by a white body with shorts on, they are usually found as sprinters. When entering a new area/room these will be the most commonly found infected.
Armoured Snowbreader: The Armoured Snowbreader does not share much characterisation with it’s less armoured predecessor, such as that it wears a full set of clothes compared to the more agile but less armoured Common Snowbreader. The easiest way to spot these Snowbreaders is that they have a cyan/light blue shade of ice acting as armour over their heads, arms and sometimes legs or fully body. They move slowly with just a shuffle but can take a full magazine to take down.
Common Crawler: The Crawler is a Snowbreader easily identifiable by their ability to move on all fours and crawl on the ceiling and walls, they share an appearance with the Common Snowbreader but travel at the speed of a brisk walk but replicated on all fours.
Armoured Crawler: Just like the Armoured Snowbreeder, the Armoured Crawler shares most of it’s characteristics with the Common Crawler except does not have an added effect of a lowered speed or attack rate.
Now we will be moving on to the stronger Snowbreaders, these can easily be seen by their weird/muscular size, this section does not include bosses.
Eater: Mutated strangely, most likely an obese person before the fall their body has mutated during the turning after the fall to have an extended stomach, when killed they will explode and cause damage to anything nearby; if a player is nearby when killed it will also blind the player for around 10 seconds with a dark misty screen.
Juggernaut: The brawn over brains of the collection. These Snowbreaders are easily identifiable by their use of Riot Armour, most likely being police officers before their turning after the fall. If you come too close to a Juggernaut they will pick you up and you will have around 5 seconds to try kill or incapacitate them with your weapons, if not they will punch you once in the face and you will be frozen instantly no matter your health. Due to their armor there is not a huge damage variation over their body and your best bet is just shoot where you can.
Brute: This brute is much the opposite of it’s friend seen above. Instead of holding you in one place to beat you this one prefers to present you it’s elbow and rush at you with force, if hit it will push you and possibly incapacitate and freeze you. This one is less armoured than it’s counterpart so can be easily to kill over the Riot Brute.
Now we will be moving on to the strongest Snowbreader, this is… the Smasher as called by the Line.
The Smasher: The Smasher is large Snowbreader who looks like they spent a bit too much time in the bedroom. They have an incredibly overgrown right arm compared to their malnourished left arm. They use this right arm in 3 different ways which will be explained in their specific section.
Common Snowbreader
The Common Snowbreader is the most found Snowbreader in the Los Angeles area. They are presented in a very frail manner with low levels of clothing and no armor. They have the ability to run and are seen as very agile due to their low-weight structure.
Appearance:
The Common Snowbreader resembles a normal human with chunks of their body removed and skin dyed an albino shade of white. Their skin is cracked with eyes white like the snow they’re named after.
Attack Types:
Lunge: This attack is the most common, when they’re done running they will lunge towards you and take a swipe, this attack wt the moment has a 100% chance to hit the intended target if the Snowbreader is not killed before the attack is executed.
Swipe: This is the only other attack presented by the common variant of the Snowbreader, instead of being after a running start, this attack is used when the target is stationary infront of the Snowbreader, usually an AFK opponent. Commonly a follow-up to the lunge attack as they no longer have the element of speed to help.
Counters: The easiest way to explain the counter to the Common Snowbreader is just shoot them in the head, if there is a large crowd train them around a post and walk backwards shooting them in the head as they spin around. If in a long corridor just open fire down the hallway, that’s about it.
Armoured Snowbreader
The Armoured Snowbreader is the second most found Snowbreader in the Los Angeles area. They are presented in a tough, muscualr manner with casual clothing and ice spikes used as armor that has to be shot off. Unlike their more agile counter-part, they are unable to run and only shuffle along.
Appearance:
The Armoured Snowbreader resembles a normal human with normal, casual LA clothing and skin dyed an albino shade of white. Their skin is cracked with eyes white like the snow they’re named after.
Attack Types, shared with the Common Snowbreader:
Lunge: This attack is the most common, when they’re done running they will lunge towards you and take a swipe, this attack wt the moment has a 100% chance to hit the intended target if the Snowbreader is not killed before the attack is executed.
Swipe: This is the only other attack presented by the armoured variant of the Snowbreader, instead of being after a running start, this attack is used when the target is stationary infront of the Snowbreader, usually an AFK opponent. Commonly a follow-up to the lunge attack as they no longer have the element of speed to help.
Counters: The easiest way to explain the counter to the Armoured Snowbreader is just shoot them in the head, if there is a large crowd train them around a post and walk backwards shooting them in the head as they spin around. If in a long corridor just open fire down the hallway, that’s about it.
Common Crawler
The Common Crawler is a type of Snowbreader found in the Los Angeles area. They are presented much like their Common Snowbreader brotherin but on all fours to move around with low levels of clothing and no armor. They have the ability to crawl and can crawl along the roof and walls of a building albeit not very fast.
Appearance:
The Common Crawler resembles the Common Snowbreader but is on it’s all fours to move around.
Attack Types:
Lunge: This attack is the most common, when they’re done running they will lunge towards you and take a swipe, this attack will at the moment has a 100% chance to hit the intended target if the Snowbreader is not killed before the attack is executed.
Swipe: This is the only other attack presented by the common crawling variant of the Snowbreader, instead of being after a running start, this attack is used when the target is stationary infront of the Snowbreader, usually an AFK opponent. Commonly a follow-up to the lunge attack as they no longer have the element of speed to help.
Counters: The easiest way to explain the counter to the Common Crawler is to try and shoot them before they come close to you, the closer they are to you the more of a pain they become so make sure to take them out while you have a bit of distance.
Armored Crawler
The Armored Crawler is a type of Snowbreader found in the Los Angeles area. They are presented much like their Common Crawler brotherin but on all fours to move around with ice armor covering their extremities.. They have the ability to crawl and can crawl along the roof and walls of a building albeit not very fast.
Appearance:
The Common Crawler resembles the Armored Snowbreader but is on it’s all fours to move around.
Attack Types:
Lunge: This attack is the most common, when they’re done running they will lunge towards you and take a swipe, this attack will at the moment has a 100% chance to hit the intended target if the Snowbreader is not killed before the attack is executed.
Swipe: This is the only other attack presented by the armoured variant of the Crawler, instead of being after a running start, this attack is used when the target is stationary infront of the Snowbreader, usually an AFK opponent. Commonly a follow-up to the lunge attack as they no longer have the element of speed to help.
Counters: The easiest way to explain the counter to the Armoured Crawler is to try and shoot them before they come close to you, the closer they are to you the more of a pain they become so make sure to take them out while you have a bit of distance.
Eater
The Eater is a type of heavy Snowbreader found in the Los Angeles area. They are characterised by resembling a large, bulbous ball that wobbles as it moves.
Appearance:
The Eater is a large Snowbreader that resembles a large skin-ball while moving around, they are very noticeable.
Attack Types:
Explode: The Eater will not attack the runner, but rather follow them and cause a nuisance to try explosde on them, when killed the Eater will crouch down with around a 3 second warning before they explode, the explosion will coat any nearby player’s view with a black mist for about 10 seconds where they can see very little. Any Snowbreaders nearby will also be eviscerated by the blast.
Counters: The easiest way to explain the counter to the Eater is to keep your distance from them and target them over others as they will damage the crowd they are in, other than that there is not much you can do to avoid the Eater.
Juggernaut
The Juggernaut is a heavy Snowbreader in the Los Angeles Area. It is characterised by being a large and muscular variant of the Snowbreader, always sporting a set of Riot Armor from the police force.
Appearance:
The Juggernaut resembles a muscular common Snowbreader with Police Riot Armor covering their body.
Attack Types:
Grab and Smash: This is the most common attack presented by the Juggernaut, they will attempt this by getting up close to a runner and raising them up by the neck, giving them around 5 to 10 seconds to inflict damage to their head before instantly freezing them.
Swipe: This is the only other attack presented by the Juggernaut, instead of picking up the runner they will swipe their arm right to left to try and catch the runner and hit them like with The Smasher.
Counters: The easiest way to counter a Juggernaut is the tactic of looping around an object and repeatedly shooting them, if you are picked up tell your team to focus all fire on it’s head and to try incapacitate it to drop you.
Brute
The Brute is a heavy Snowbreader in the Los Angeles Area. It is characterised by being a large and muscular variant of the Snowbreader, but is not sporting a set of Riot Gear like it’s companion.
Appearance:
The Brute resembles a muscular common Snowbreader.
Attack Types:
Rush: This is the most common attack presented by the Brute. They will target a runner and sprint towards them at full force with their elbow up attempted to take out the runner by throwing them down, then following with another attack of letting other Snowbreaders get into the sway.
Swipe: This is the only other attack presented by the Brute, instead of picking up the runner they will swipe their arm right to left to try and catch the runner and hit them like with The Smasher.
Counters: The easiest way to counter a Brute is the tactic of looping around an object and repeatedly shooting them, if you are hit by it just try stand up and run away as fast as you can to prevent it happening again.
The Smasher
The Smasher is the first boss to appear in the After The Fall game, they resemble an armoured Rusher Brute with around 3x the height and muscle.
Appearance:
The Smasher looks like a Rusher Brute with around 3x more muscle and height, they also have multiple types of armor such as ice armor or scrap armor that they can spawn with, each one has different stats but overall you just want to keep shooting.
Attack Types:
Grab and Smash: This is the most common attack presented by the Smasher, they will attempt this by getting up close to a runner and raising them up by the neck, immediateky slamming them back down and freezing them.
Swipe: This is one of the other attacks presented by the The Smahser, instead of picking up the runner they will swipe their arm right to left to try and catch the runner and hit them like with The Smasher.
Ground Pound: Finally, we have the ground pound, this is done by raising their arm up and slmming it down, this can crush dynamic props in the boss arena that may crush the runner.
Counters: The easiest way to counter a Smasher is to find a large area to run around and keep shooting backwards, they have large amount of health since you need to destroy all their armor and never giving them an opportunity to attack is crucial to survive.
