This is a basic walkthrough of the Bloons Adventure Time TD along with a guide to getting 100% of the achievements for it.
Gameplay
This Adventure Time mash-up changes things up a bit, with dozens of characters from the show helping out.
The game is set in the Land Of Ooo, where Bloons have begun to take over. You will be fighting them with a variety of characters in a number of locations over the map.
This is your experience. You’ll earn it by completing maps and you’ll get a little bit of extra starting gold every time you level up. The amount is pretty small though and is quickly eclipsed by a variety of trinkets.
This is your gold. Again, you’ll earn it by completing maps. You can use it to buy powers from the shop.
These are your gems. You’ll earn these by completing maps and can spend them on items from the Choose Goose, as well as speeding various cool-downs up. These are the most important resource you’ll have, so I advise saving them until you find something good that you can buy with them, or using them to speed up maps when you’re grinding the last few achievements.
These are your shards, once again, obtainable by completing maps. The only real use for these is to save them up in order to craft Epic level Wish Orbs with.
Each location on the world map will have a number of characters hanging about. Each of these characters has their own group of maps that you must complete. In the above example is Tree Trunks’ maps, the very first group of maps you will be able to play.
The medals below each map are unlocked once you have completed them on each difficulty; Normal, Hard, Extreme and Impoppable. The higher the difficulty, the more waves you will have to face, but the higher the reward will be.
At the bottom of each map selection page are four extra reward chests. Once you complete all of the maps on a specific difficulty, you will be given an extra chest as a way of a reward.
There are a number of characters available for you to use, but you may only have 10 of them in your party at any one time.
On this screen, you can see the characters Star Level, you can also level them up using their unique items. You will also be able to equip them with a number of weapons, allies and trinkets. The best load-outs for characters are a much discussed topic, but figure out what works for you.
You’ll also be able to see their abilities, skill tree and statistics from this page.
There are a number of powers available for you to buy. These are items that you can use on a level to help you complete it. This might range from Hot Dog Knights who guard your track, to an extra boost of money.
Every day you will be given a number of quests to choose from, which will give you a reward when completed. The higher the difficulty of the chest that is shown, the better the reward will be.
The Bloon Beacon will be present on a random map. Completing it will give you a number of unique items, depending on the difficulty, used to upgrade your character’s Star Levels. There is a 4 hour timer for the Beacon to cool-down once completed, but this can be sped up through the use of gems.
The last thing we will look at in this basic guide, is the Double Reward system. Every 24 hours, after the completion of a map, you will be given the chance to double your rewards for a certain number of gems. Timing this with an Impoppable victory on a Bloon Beacon map will yield up to 8 of a unique item and will make the road to Star Level 10 that little bit quicker.
Achievements
Open 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 150 and 200 Wish Orbs.
Every time you complete a map, or a quest, you will be given a Wish Orb. Just keep opening them and you’ll get these achievements.
Promote A Character To 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 And 10 Stars.
Each character has a Star Level, which can be upgraded using unique items found from chests. This is by far the hardest achievement and took me at least 400 hours of gameplay.
Complete 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 And 20 Adventures.
Keep finishing maps and you’ll unlock these achievements in no time.
Fully Equip A Character.
Fill all of a character’s slots with allies and equipment. Unfortunately you will need to be Star Level 10 in order to do this.
Buy 20, 50 And 100 Upgrades That Require Another Character.
Some characters will have skills that require another character to be in their range. Simply keep playing maps and buying these skills and you’ll unlock these achievements.
Pop 50,000, 250,000 And 1,000,000 Lead Bloons.
