This is a detailed guide to finding the four artifacts in The Little Devil folklore, as well as some of the items you’ll need to obtain them and the ritual items you’ll need to cleanse them.
Finding the Map
1. The first piece is in the waiting room on the foyer table on the right side of the archway.
2. The second piece is in the grandfather’s study on the main floor. It will be in the second drawer on the left-hand side of the desk.
3. The third piece is on a foyer table in the right hallway leading to the grandfather’s bedroom. It will have a congklak on top.
4. The fourth piece is on the second floor on the other side of the stairs, sitting on top of a table behind a lamp underneath a photograph or painting of an elderly woman.
Finding the Ritual Notebook & Puzzle Key
There are 2 ways you can gain access to the hidden office:
1. The short way is to find Key #7 in the mailbox outside. It might not be in there at first, but I was able to make it appear by continually opening and closing the mailbox door until something triggers it to appear in the mailbox. Use the key on the doors to the green bedroom upstairs (it’s behind the room divider), and go to the shelf on the right. Move it, and you’ll find the hidden office. Take the ritual notebook from the desk.
2. The other way is to use the puzzle key, which you will absolutely need as well to find most of the artifacts. The puzzle key is in a hidden compartment on the right underside of the desk in the grandfather’s study. You’ll have to move the desk chair out of the way in order to get a prompt to go under the desk.
To open the compartment, move the desk lamp to find a metal handle that opens to reveal two wheels. Turn the wheel closest to the bookshelves, and that will open the compartment that holds the puzzle key (remember to remove the compartment lock before turning the wheel, otherwise it will get stuck).
Next, go the middle of the bookshelves and pull the table away from the shelves. Then turn the other wheel in the desk – this will open a hidden room behind the bookshelves. Inside will be stairs that will lead to a trap door with a peculiar keyhole. Use the puzzle key on it, open the trapdoor, and you’ll end up in the hidden office. Take the ritual notebook from the desk.
Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s finally talk about where to find the artifacts and the items you’ll need to perform their rituals.
1. Dhuwung Blade
Before heading into the antiques room, you’ll need a screwdriver and a wrench. Both will be found on the main floor, in the hallway leading to the kitchen. They’ll be in a toolbox beside a shoe shelf.
Head over to the grandfather clock, unscrew the screws on the right side of the panel, and open the panel door. Tucked in the corner of the panel door is a note, which holds a clue to what time you have to set the clock at.
The time is Putri’s birthday. To find it, go to the mother’s old room beside the antiques room and inspect the baby photo on the desk. If you’re feeling lazy though, the time you need to enter on the clock is 11:02 – the short hand on the 11th hour and the long hand on the 2nd hour.
While you’re in the mother’s room, go to the big glass panel on the wall holding a wayang figure piece. On the right side of the panel, remove the bolts with the wrench, open the panel, and take the wayang piece.
Inside the room behind the clock is an board with five wayang figurine pieces, with the dhuwung secured in the centre. Place the wayang piece you found earlier in the empty space on the right side of the board.
To unlock the dhuwung, you’ll need to rotate the heads of the wayang pieces in the correct position. The clue for this can be found on a sheet of paper on one of the foyer tables in the hallway leading to the grandfather’s bedroom. Inspect the sheet and you’ll find the clue to the wayang puzzle. If you’re feeling lazy though, the three wayang pieces on the left must be facing upwards, while the three on the right must face downwards.
- Be careful not to rotate the head too many times. Otherwise they’ll fall off and you won’t be able to solve the puzzle!
You can now take the dhuwung and performing its cleansing ritual, which you’ll find the steps for in the ritual notebook. The ritual itself is pretty straightforward, so I don’t think I have to explain what to do.
The following items needed for the dhuwung’s ritual are:
- Ritual Flowers: They will be on the table beside the wooden bathtub in the antiques room.
- Zafaron oil: It’s in the grandfather’s bedroom (main floor) on the TV stand.
- Lime: Found on the deck outside in the backyard. There will a line of potted plants, and you will be able to pick a lime from one of them.
- Shroud Cloth: This is on the same table as the ritual flowers.
2. Ali-ali Ring
In the hidden room, there will be numerous picture frames that you can rotate. The ones you’ll need to rotate are the ones depicting beaches, which are right in front of you when you walk into the room. You will need to rotate them so that the beach pictures form a circle around the photo of a cave entrance in the centre, like so:
Once you’ve solved that, you’ll be able to move the cave entrance photo to reveal a safe with a puzzle lock. Use the puzzle key to unlock the safe, and take the Ali-ali ring.
Follow the steps from the ritual notebook to clease the Ali-ali ring.
The following items for the ritual are:
- Black Sticky Rice: The rice will be in a bowl on the table beside the wooden bathtub in the antique room, the same table where the flowers and shroud are.
- Lime: Found on the deck outside in the backyard. There will a line of potted plants, and you will be able to pick a lime from one of them.
3. Lembing Spear
Go to the living room. On the right side of the TV, you’ll notice the corner of the carpet folded over a bit. Inspect that, then roll the carpet. This will reveal a big, metal trapdoor that has two different puzzle keyholes.
Go into your inventory and view the puzzle key. The puzzle key can be reshaped, so reshape it so that it will match the keyholes of the trapdoor.
- Before you go down into the basement, you might want to go the antique room upstairs and grab the sheet music on the small table. You’ll need it for later.
Once you’ve opened the trapdoor, go down into the basement. There’s a glass case that holds a sheet of paper containing the Ramayana Story. You’ll need this for what’s coming next, so take the sheet (or just take a screenshot of it. Whatever).
- Alternatively you can also find the same sheet in the bunker outside the house in the backyard.
Head over to the narrow tunnel in the basement which will lead you to the underground maze.
Now, the **bad news** is that I haven’t memorized the layout of the maze, so unfortunately I cannot give you directions on where to find the room where the Lembing is being guarded. If anyone can give directions on how to reach the room, let me know and I’ll update the guide. For now, you’re just going to have to wander around a bit until you find the room.
To top it off, there are a number of gates with padlocks you’ll have to unlock. Each padlock will have a passage from The Ramayana story, the codes being symbols representing each character from the story. Refer to the Ramayana Story in order to enter the correct code for the padlocks.
Once you find the room guarding the Lembing, there’s a gambang (xylophone) on the right side wall. You will need to play the correct melody notes on the bars in order to unlock the door and obtain Lembing. The melody can be found on the music sheet you found earlier, but if you’re feeling a little lazy, the solution is 1 3 1 3 4 5. Once you’ve solved the music puzzle, take the Lembing.
Leave the maze and just follow the steps from the ritual notebook to cleanse the Lembing.
The following items you’ll need for this ritual are:
- Ritual Flowers: They will be on the table beside the wooden bathtub in the antique room.
- Zafaron oil: It’s in the grandfather’s bedroom (main floor) on the TV stand.
- Shroud Cloth: This is on the same table as the ritual flowers.
4. Reca Figurine
Open the armoire and move the clothes to the side. You’ll see a wooden compartment at the far back. Move the wooden lid out of the way to reveal a puzzle keyhole. Reshape the puzzle key to match the keyhole and unlock the door to the hidden room.
Inside there’s a strange little contraption securing the Reca figurine with rope and a mechanism that needs a code, which you enter via rotating the numbers.
Use the wrench to remove the bolts holding the ropes down.
The code is the year the grandfather’s factory first opened. To find the year, go to the study room and read the newspaper on the desk. If you don’t feel like doing that, the year is 1980. Enter the year in the mechanism, and push the button above.
Take the Reca figurine and follow the ritual steps to cleanse it.
The following items for the Reca’s ritual are:
Ritual Flowers: They will be on the table beside the wooden bathtub in the antique room.
Lime: Can be found on the deck outside in the backyard. There will a line of potted plants, and you will be able to pick a lime from one of them.
Bilimbi: It’s in the kitchen with the bananas on top the centre counter.
