Birthdays the Beginning: All Creatures – The Cube is Born

This episode is a tutorial for the game itself, and is quite easy to complete. However, getting all the organisms can be a bit frustrating.

This is Part 1 of a 4 part series that aims to get all creatures in the game. The methods have been written and tested to get all organisms before the time limit. It has been further split into groups based on temperature.

One thing to remember, the only item you can NOT use is the evolution seed. To complete the tree quickly, Mutation seeds will need to be used. There is also a lot of overlap, so do not worry if you get some organisms out of order.

Stromatolite and Cyclomedusa are trivial, in that the in-game walk-through will guarantee you to get these. However, this is also where you begin building your oceans and land for future growth.

Add water to bring the world temperature to 48 degrees. You want to make sure you have an area of sea at -5T at least 4 squares wide. The 9 star organism for this episode will need it.

Once you reach the target temperature, Callunia and Elrathia should form quite quickly once you have Stromatolite and Cyclomedusa given to you through the game instructions.

Bring your world temperature down to 44 degrees. Baragwanathia, Pikaia, and Dinorthis should appear quite quickly.

When Baragwanathia appears, do NOT capture it! it will end the episode. Instead, use a seed of mutation on it, then let time run slowly with ‘x’. The moment Asteroxylon appears, stop time and capture that one. Use a seed of mutation on Pikaia as well to force Velopikaia to appear.

Now, you need to drop the temperature down to 39 degrees to get these. Astraspis and Ophiuroid will appear, with the latter requiring a large population of Dinorthis. When they do, use a seed of mutation on both of them to get the other two.

You may have to do a lot of temperature manipulation to keep the range you need, especially for Ophiuroid. As the plants spread across, the temperature will drop. Use Water of Life to boost the growth rate of organisms, and add more shallows if needed to boost the production of Dinorthis.

All the work you did cooling your cube is about to get reversed. Anomalocaris can be hard to get, but as long as you got a decent sized area of -5T, it should appear as you raise the temperature up to 51 degrees.

Once you collect Anomalocaris, collect Baragwanathia as well, and pat yourself on the back for a job well done. You have completed Episode 1.

This is the easiest episode to complete, but the tricks you learned here will help with other episodes. You will find that to get every creature, you have to manipulate your world from a hot savanna, to cold mountainsides, and back again.
