Culdcept BEGINS: Fast Gold Farming Guide

Posted on November 1, 2026

I’ve been playing Culdcept since the older titles, and if there’s one thing I wish someone had told me earlier, it’s how to make gold stop feeling like a grind. This guide is exactly that conversation — me sitting down with newer players (and returning veterans who want a faster loop) to walk through the single-player setup I use to farm coins quickly.

Gold farming works best in single-player matches, and it beats both the story mode and online battles on efficiency. The reason is simple: you can force the AI to run a deck you built yourself. That single freedom is the whole engine of this method.

The Core Idea: A Defanged AI and a Greedy You

The logic is straightforward once it clicks. Build a deck with zero creature cards and no combat capability whatsoever — anything that poses a genuine threat has no place in it. Hand that pile to the computer and let it pilot the sorry thing. Then you build your own deck around one goal: accumulating mana as easily as possible. Your deck doesn’t need item cards at all.

What you do want are cards that multiply toll rates. Earth-element Goblins, wind-element Wisps, and the spell card Greed all serve this purpose. Drop creatures on a small map, park yourself at the castle, and collect tolls from the AI as it stumbles around your territory.

Match Settings That Actually Change Your Payout

A few room settings shift both speed and reward, and you should know the trade-offs before you start.

Turning on Sudden Death in the room setup makes wins come faster, but it shaves a bit off your gold take. More enemy summoners on the field means more gold — that one scales in your favor. The target mana value also influences your final payout, though from what I can tell the relationship isn’t linear. Don’t set it too low, and don’t set it too high either — an inflated target just wastes your time. Find a middle ground and settle there.

If you’re a newer player without a deep card pool, none of this is a problem. You can even run a completely different approach. The heart of the strategy is giving yourself room to stockpile a huge amount of mana, hit the target quickly, and return to the castle. Once the AI is saddled with a combat-free deck, you’ve already solved most of the puzzle. Adjust the match settings to fit what you actually own.

The “Powerless Deck” I Hand to the AI

Every AI opponent in my setup is Jeton, because of Shield Only, Shield Toss, and All Shields — after all, the deck contains nothing but shield-type armor. Laugh all you want; it works.

My Personal Mana-Farming Deck (For Reference Only)

Here’s the deck and reasoning I use for quickly building mana. Deck code:

wUBA QgAG eaEm /CJC
JUE6 KA==

Card roles, one by one:

Fire-element Ancient Willow — the old willow needs no introduction. It’s the absolute core of the tactic: it intercepts passing summoners and forces toll collection. Because of this, I set every map tile to level-2 fire territory.

Earth Goblins, wind Wisps, and the spell Greed — all of these raise toll multipliers. Wisps will usually pull in the higher payout. Greed also draws cards, so it never costs you card advantage.

The spell Return — it does two jobs. First, after placing the old willow you can get back to the castle fast, then immediately develop and upgrade the willow’s territory across the map. Second, once you’ve hit the mana target you can return to the castle quickly to end the match. If you’ve enabled Sudden Death you don’t need that second use, so swap it for Clairvoyance or Apocalypse.

Foresight — at the opening you’re racing to grab either the old willow or Greed. When your starting hand has no creature cards, Foresight lets you dig toward the top of the deck for creatures that don’t depend on territory costs.

The Improved Version

Deck code:

wFBA JAB5 oSb8 By&o
FUE@ RA==

From what I’ve tested, at 2x speed with an 8000 mana target, a full match takes roughly five to six minutes — sometimes even less — and pays out around 2400 gold. That’s a genuinely strong rate. Leave it on auto and let the system take over and the results may go either way: possibly better, possibly worse.
