Every color in Marvel Token: Fighting Souls hides behind a different kind of grind. Some demand full campaign clears, others require you to sit through online matchmaking, and one is locked behind a paywall. The fifth color, Color 7, is still missing in action — no one has confirmed the trigger yet, and the community is still digging. This guide breaks down every known unlock path, plus what we know about the one color that has everyone stumped.

Color Unlock Overview

There are five colors to unlock in total: Color 5, Color 6, Color 7, Color 8, and Color 9. Most of them tie into core game modes — campaign completion, online play, and Trials — so you’ll naturally hit some of them just by playing through the main content. Color 9 is the outlier, locked exclusively behind the Ultimate Edition purchase.  

Color Unlock Requirements

Here are the known unlock conditions for each color:

Color 5 — Full Campaign Clear

Beat all five episodes. That’s the entire requirement. No difficulty setting checks, no hidden side objectives — just finish the story. If you’ve been playing through the campaign naturally, this one will likely pop on its own. If you’re rushing it, expect a few hours of straight mission grinding.

Color 6 — 10 Online Matches

Play 10 online matches. The game counts any online mode, so you can jump into the open lobby system or use standard matchmaking. Wins and losses both count, so there’s no pressure to perform. If you’re struggling with connection stability, the open lobby system tends to be more forgiving than ranked matchmaking.

Color 7 — The Unsolved Mystery

No confirmed unlock method exists yet. The community has tried various combinations of game modes, replaying episodes, and stacking online matches, but nothing has been verified. Color 8 — Trials Completion

Complete the Trials, but only the first two modes. The third mode is not required, so you can skip it entirely. This is the most straightforward of the unlockable colors — just work through the first two Trial modes and it’s yours.

Color 9 — Ultimate Edition Purchase

This one is simple: buy the Ultimate Edition. Color 9 is exclusive to that edition and cannot be unlocked through gameplay. If you already own the standard edition, you’ll need to upgrade to access it. There’s no in-game workaround for this one. For the other four colors, the methods above are confirmed and reliable. Color 5 and Color 8 are pure PvE grinds, Color 6 requires a bit of online play, and Color 9 is a purchase decision. Color 7 remains the only open question, and it’s a matter of time before someone cracks it.
