For Remnant II players, this is a guide of classes which explains how to unlock a second class, and find secret classes.
How to unlock dual archetypes
Collect ten trait points. This can be done by defeating bosses, and collecting the trait tomes scattered about the realm. Then decide which second class to purchase or collect. The ones in Ward 13 will be the easiest to collect, needing only 2500 scrap and 10 luminite.
Challenger: Purchased from Reggie (Old Metal Tool)
Handler: Purchased from Mudtooth (Broken Whistle)
Hunter: Purchased from Brabus (Rusty Medal)
Medic: Purchased from Dr. Norah (Medic Pin)
Gunslinger: Listen to all of Mudtooths stories (Worn Cylinder)
Alchemist: Losomn, Manticora’s Lair (Mysterious Stone)
Archon: Labyrinth (Strange Box)
Engineer: N’Erud, The Eon Vault (Alien Device)
Explorer: Root Earth, Blackened Citadel (Broken Compass)
Invader: Root Earth, Corrupted Harbor (Wooden Shiv)
Summoner: Yaesha, Bloodmoon Altar (Faded Grimoire)
Once you have the class item, bring it to Wallice to unlock a class. Dont forget to slot your new class on your character sheet. Also note, once you slot a second class, the EXP gained is split evenly between the classes. Gaining only 50% of the EXP when two classes are slotted. If you wish to level your second class faster, simply unslot your first.
Prime Perks: The class in your left (primary) slot will become your primary class. This unlocks the prime perk of that class.
Alchemist – Spirited: The Alchemist has 1 additional Concoction buff active.
Challenger – Die Hard: Upon taking fatal damage, the Challenger brushes off death and returns to battle.
Engineer – High Tech: Holding the Skill button will overclock a carried or deployed Heavy Weapon. Overclocking grants infinite ammo, increased fire rate, and a 25% damage increase for 15 seconds.
Explorer – Lucky: Grants a 10% chance to spawn additional items and rarer drops when dealing with strong enemies.
Gunslinger – Loaded: Activating a Gunslinger skill instantly reloads both firearms and grants infinite ammo for a short period of time.
Handler – Bonded: When the Handler is downed, their companion will attempt to revive them.
Hunter – Dead to Rights: The Hunter can extend the duration of their active skills by dealing ranged weakspot damage.
Invader – Shadow: Casting an Invader skill leave a decoy for three seconds, which draws enemy fire. Deal 5% additional damage to enemies not targeting the Invader.
Medic – Regenerator: The Medic regenerates additional relic charges by healing themselves and allies.
Summoner – Ruthless: When the Summoner deals damage to their minion, it causes them to Enrage. Minions gain 30% increased damage, attack speed, and movement speed. Lasts 20 seconds.
Secret Classes, how to unlock them
To unlock the Alchemist you will need to be in the Losomn world, and specifically, the Morrow Parish. Once you are in Morrow Parish in the Losomn world, follow these steps:
- Run around the slums until you find sewer grates (there are hundreds to find in this part of the map).
- Stand near the sewer grates until a monster grabs you. If this doesn’t happen after a few minutes of waiting, run around until you find a new sewer to stand next to.
- Let the monster take snatch you – don’t move or attack. You will be taken to its lair.
- Now you can fight the monster, the Albino Bone Collector.
- Kill it and loot the “Mysterious Stone” from its corpse.
- Take this to Wallace in Ward 13 and you can now craft the Philosopher’s Stone.
To unlock the Engineer go to the N’erud world, and then to the second region of N’erud you get (which will either be Timeless Horizon or the Eon Vault). Once you are in either the Timeless Horizon or the Eon Vault do the following:
- Walk around the edges of the map (through the poisonous fog) until you find a dead body. To avoid dying from the fog, and make sure to take Purified Salve.
- The dead body will be next to a ledge, jump down off the ledge.
- An item called the Alien Device will be at the bottom.
- Take this to Wallace in Ward 13 and you can now craft the Dryzr Caliper Engram.
This one is the easiest Remnant 2 hidden class to unlock:
- Kill the final boss.
- Receive Broken Compass.
- Take the Broken Compass to Wallace in Ward 13, and he can now craft you the Golden Compass.
If you pre-ordered the game you already have the Gunslinger unlocked, you can just pick this class as soon as you finish the prologue and talk to Wallace. But if you didn’t pre-order the game, do the following:
- Complete two worlds/biomes.
- Talk to Mudtooth in Ward 13 and completely exhaust all of his dialogue options.
- He will give you the Worn Cylinder item.
- Take the Worn Cylinder to Wallace, you can now craft the Iron Cylinder.
The Summoner is one of the easier ones. You need to get a Faded Grimoire for Wallace, and you can simply buy it from the Bloodmoon Altar in Yaesha. Here’s a more exact guide:
- Go to Yaesha.
- Wait until the Bloodmoon phase begins and shoot the pink orbs (called Wisps) that appear in the air. They drop Bloodmoon Essence when they die.
- Kill enough Wisps to get 15 Bloodmoon Essence.
- Go to the Bloodmoon Altar and buy the Faded Grimoire for Bloodmoon Essence.
- Take the Faded Grimoire to Wallace, he will now be able to craft the Tome of the Bringer Engram.
To unlock the Invader class, you need to bring the Dreamcatcher melee weapon to the Corrupted Harbor in Root Earth. After advancing through most of the area, head down to the basement level of the large, ruined building.
There you’ll find an open doorway leading to a secret corridor. Follow the corridor all the way down to a wide, open area inhabited by an elite enemy. Take it down and approach the corpse of another creature in the center of the area. Pick up the amulet that’s resting on it called the Escalation Protocol.
Equip the Dreamcatcher and melee attack the creature to interact with it. Instead of attacking, you’ll pass your weapon over it and acquire another item called the Walker’s Dream. Assign that item to a quickslot and then use. You’ll be immediately teleported to another secret area called Twilight Vale.
The Twilight Vale is very similar to the area you were just teleported from, but this version of it is inhabited by Bane, a miniboss that summons minions as you fight it. Some of the minions are elite enemies. It’s a tough fight, but if you’re having difficulty, you can retreat back to the corridor to bottleneck the enemies.
When Bane is finally down, you’ll be awarded the Wooden Shiv, which is the item you need to craft the Invader Engram. Take it back to Wallace, and he’ll craft the Engram for you so you can equip the Invader Archetype.
You must have a gear set to resemble Ford, the ancient explorer that you met at the beginning of the game. Once you have this set equipped, you may access the corrupted door in the Labyrinth. This will take you to the Backrooms, where you’ll find the Engram item you need called the Strange Box.

Challenger Class Information
The Challenger is an Archetype in Remnant 2. The Challenger in a way acts as a Spiritual Succesor of the Scrapper in the first game, Remnant: From the Ashes. He thrives in close combat situations and has an increased survivability, making him an ideal Archetype for the tank role while playing in party. By being mostly a close-combat based Class, the Challenger doesn’t rely too much on accuracy. This makes Weapons that don’t have a high accuracy stat ideal for this class. Franchise beginners, or Souls-like rookies can find the Challenger as the easiest Class to play given its durability and ability to endure damage before going down. Archetypes can be considered the different Classes available in-game. Players’ Archetype choice at the beginning of the game is important, but they can change them to another one later on by using another Archetype’s item if they so desire.
