If you are playing BattleBit Remastered and now you want to strap explosives to that flying camera and wreck havoc upon the enemy, this guide will help you out.
Secondary Gadget for Recon Class only – Unlocked at Rank 30
So now you’ve got your drone.
What do you put onto it before flying it into the enemy?
– Place mines/explosives at the front near or on top of the camera for easiest detonation.
– Dive into groups of enemies from above (Left Shift + E)
– Placing more mines on top of the drone increases the surface area and likelihood of detonation but can also negatively impact flight making your drone sluggish and harder to fly.
{Keep the amount of mines/explosives between 1-3 to avoid restricting flight capability}
Explosives
-
Anti-Personnel Mines
– (Ideal for Solo Players)
+ Detonates automatically once close enough to enemy
+ Highly effective against groups of clustered infantry– Not effective against vehicles
(Can damage light vehicles slightly) -
Anti Vehicle Mines
– (Requires an Engineer partner)
+ Highly effective against heavier vehicles like Tanks or APC’s– Will not detonate against infantry.
-
C4(EXPLOSIVES CAN OBSTRUCT CAMERA, PLACE WISELY)
+ Effective for blowing holes in tall buildings to expose enemy positions/fortifications
+ Effective against lighter vehicles like Quads, Boats, or Cars– Wont detonate automatically, leaves your drone exposed to fire while switching to the detonator
(Mitigated by having a partner to detonate the C4) -
Claymores
-Same blast radius as Anti-Personnel mines but significantly harder to detonate due to wires not deploying
– Typically requires external source of detonation
(Being shot, or setting off another type of explosive)– Don’t use these on drones.
Strengths
-
Identifying targets
(Default Middle-Mouse click to ping)
– More important than your own score is the success of the team, proper communication of targets and unsafe territory is imperative to winning.
– Call out fortified positions and/or vehicles to your squad and other teammates around you.
-
Attacking fortified positions
– Flying a drone into a window or gap between sandbags can cause havoc inside bunkers and buildings as the enemy scrambles to avoid death.
-
Attacking groups of enemies in chokepoints or isolated positions
– Is the enemy pushing through a narrow chokepoint and bunching up as they revive one another?
Send a drone to ruin their day.– Sniper squad ruining your fun?
Ping them with middle mouse and then dive into them to force them to scatter.
Weaknesses
The drone is very weak and will die to minimal fire.
This is before someone strapped explosives on top of it.
Your drone is a fat bird waiting to be shot out of the sky. Always be moving.
The drone is very loud and can easily be heard over the sound of a firefight or a vehicle.
(Though not always readily in the heat of battle)
While flying your drone you need to be in a relatively undisturbed location, this may not be inside an objective and thus you will not contribute effectively.
(Build yourself a hidey hole in the corner of a point and help prevent captures.)
Summary
- Great for clearing chokepoints
- VERY SQUISHY
- More bomb does not always equal more boom
- Place explosives near front and dive into enemies
