OCTOPATH TRAVELER II Battle Tested Weapons Farming & Resource Spreadsheet

You can find 1 of each Battle Tested Item by just progressing the game and looting them off of NPC’s, however this guide provides a way to farm multiple copies of those weapons… and will be your preferred method of getting them early as well.

You need to farm NPC’s in certain towns and hope the item drops off of them after the fight.

There’s a 2% chance it’s going to drop and the only way to continually fight these NPC’s is with Characters like Hikari or Ochette so make sure to over level them to make the grind easier on yourself.

Ochette is probably going to be your go to if you started on the Eastern Continent but be warned she can only summon monsters during her NPC fights which makes farming with her much more difficult than Hikari. You’ll have near instant access to 5 of the 7 Battle Tested fights just by exploring the Eastern Continent.

The Battle Tested Staff is only a jump across the river in Canalbrine as well so ideally you’ll want to start as Osvald and start scouring the Eastern Continent for other characters ASAP.

The only missing weapon so far is the Spear, it’s NPC’s location is currently unknown but it’s speculation is a Judge NPC in front of the court house in Timberian.

Farm / Buy Bottled Nightmares. You can get them in New Delsta Flats off of black market sellers for 3000 leaves each. Just stand in front of the tables and keep cycling Day / Night time until the proper NPC’s show up, it’s a Nun on the right hand table that sells them.

Save before fighting the special NPC’s so you don’t waste resources.

Spam Bottled Nightmares in battle against these NPC’s to blind / poison / confuse and put them to sleep.
