For Warhammer 40,000: Darktide players, this guide will show you a basic guide on tagging, let’s check it out.
Tagging
I’ll outline some basic rules and common mistakes to make your tagging much more useful to the teamA Tag implies action
When you tag an enemy, it signalling to your team that you need someone to do something about it. I commonly see the advice to “tag everything” and I think this is outdated advice from VT2. There are far far more taggable things in Darktide and its simply not useful to spam it at everything, because if everything gets tagged then its hard to know when something is a priority. For example if someone tags the giant Ogryn crusher in the horde it can only be understood that someone needs it killed ASAP for some reason, if you’ve just randomly Tagged it you’ve created a distraction as people will focus resources into it when it may have been better to focus on clearing the horde first. we can all see the Ogryn, you dont need to show us!Dont tag things that you are handling yourself
Since tagging implies action, don’t tag things moments before you blast their heads off- its simply distracting as players will attempt to help you when you dont need it. Its far better to tag targets that you know your allies have better gear to deal with. When your team knows they can trust each other, you can tag one target and simply switch your attention to clearing out others.
Tag obscured specials
Sometimes in a mass of poxwalkers it can be easy to miss a Rager in the mix, or a dog thats doing zoomies. Tagging these helps your allies read their animations, making dodging their moves far far easier.
Use the “go here” ping
Use it all the damn time. Often when a huge group of elites, or a boss spawns, you will have cohesion broken as players are forced to be mobile to survive; its very easy to get split and end up in un-rescuable situations. Use the “go here” ping to signal a rally point that players will do their best to stay near.
Remember that if an ally places this ping, you can tag it which will make your character vocally confirm that they agree with the order.
