Placing your town
1) You will want to expand one side with 2 lanes to give abundant room for residential and decorations. Houses are influenced by a number of stats and tags required for them to grow. This also applies to buildings and fields.
2) A single lane expanding outwards towards a bunch of trees will be great for your gathering buildings such as Lumbermill/Quarry/Mine/Soulstone Hut as a lot of these buildings cause negative stats on buildings such as houses, making it harder to upgrade. While these 4 do not have any building tier bonuses to expand on, certain ones such as Fields and Tailor DO have tags.
You’ll want to make a large field for wheat at the start, use the organize resources card to clear out land for this. The reason being is that you’ll use 2 villagers/farmers to plant and harvest the crops, then depending on the weather, it will automate growing (except during winter). if you add in Tier bonuses, at max tier of T3, that giant field will have a 60% production bonus, meaning it will beat 3 small farms with no bonuses, at only 1/3 of the manpower needed.
For example, T3 Farming give 30% more food/cotton/incense. and T3 Irrigation increases the growth speed by 30%!
Starting Cards [important]
1) This card will instantly make one of your people a believer. Believers are the bread and butter of your god powers. They generate faith which will fill up that bar shown, until it maxes out and you can draw 1 card from a hand of 5 cards. Use this at the start of the game to unlock the 2nd tier of tech.
2) This is a soulstone hut spawn card, that will instantly spawn a soulstone hut. This building is important in gathering resources for you to develop technology. Your villagers will then look for soulstone clusters and gather from there, and then bring it back to the soulstone hut.
3)This is the “Organize Resource” card, that will gather all resources(except soulstone) and package them into a tidy box for your villagers to grab from. You will use this to clear out land for expansion for making buildings and fields especially.
4)The game starts you off with only 10 villagers. As you rush to make a field, a soulstone hut, a quarry, and a mine. That will use up 9/10 of your villagers, leaving you with 1 idle villager. This card will spawn in 5 villagers, and has 2 charges, meaning you can spawn in 10 villagers. While tempting to instantly spawn in at the start, make sure you make enough housing first for the first batch of villagers before using the card. More villagers means more resources used, so only start with the +5.
