Hello, I’m Axon, and welcome to my Like a Dragon Gaiden 100% Achievement Guide.
This guide provides a comprehensive overview of all the achievements in the game and explains how to unlock them. Thankfully, this game is by far the easiest game in the series to unlock the achievements for, for quite a few reasons. Mainly, the game is not as long as the previous games (took me around 35 hours), it doesn’t require you to 100% the completion list, and you don’t need to complete the game on Legend. In fact, this game does not have a Legend difficulty, so you could do this on Beginner if you prefer and you won’t miss any achievements. (and no mahjong required for achievements)
Also, this game does not have any missable achievements. During your playthrough, play however you want, completing as many or as little side activities as you like. You’ll unlock a good amount of achievements playing through the story, and the rest you’ll get during Premium Adventure.
Tips to consider before starting:
1. Purchase increased Akame Points (Investment available at Network Level 5) and discount to points used (Investment available at Network Level 7) as soon as possible.
2. Complete all Akame Requests before working on the Coliseum. A lot of the requests unlock Joryu Clan Members which you can utilize during the Team Battles.

Akame Network
Completed 10 Stroll n’ Patrol missions.Neighborhood Defender
Completed 30 Stroll n’ Patrol missions.
Neighborhood Hero
Completed 50 Stroll n’ Patrol missions.
Stroll n’ Patrol missions are short side jobs that are given to you by Akame. They’re pretty simple, and completing them rewards you with Akame Points and money. Some are a little longer than the others, but they’re all quite easy. They’re marked on the map with an exclamation point and you can track them from the Support Map in the Akame Network tab in the pause menu. For the three achievements mentioned, you need to complete 50 Stroll n’ Patrol missions.
Refer to this guide for the missions and how to complete them: Stroll n’ Patrol[gamefaqs.gamespot.com]
Taking Requests
Completed 5 requests for Akame.
Completed 10 requests for Akame.
Go-To Guy
Completed 15 requests for Akame.
Similar to Stroll n’ Patrol missions, these requests are also given by Akame, however they take a little longer and give better rewards. Akame Requests are basically substories, just under a different name.
Refer to this guide for the requests and how to complete them: Akame Requests
Drinkin’ and Linkin’
Bonded completely with Akame.
As the description suggests, you unlock this achievement by fully bonding with Akame. To do this, you need to complete all 4 Drink Link events. The first one automatically happens after achieving Gold rank in the Coliseum, then the next 3 occur after reaching Akame Network levels 13, 16, and 19 respectively.
During the bonding events, you’ll be able to choose different dialogue options for the conversation, choose whatever you like as the results will always be the same. For the final bonding event, you’ll fight a group of enemies, after which you’ll complete the final bonding event and unlock the achievement.
Abilities
Obtained 10 abilities through Upgrade Abilities.Respectable Dragon
Obtained 20 abilities through Upgrade Abilities.
Ferocious Dragon
Obtained 30 abilities through Upgrade Abilities.
Legendary Dragon
Obtained 50 abilities through Upgrade Abilities.
Self explanatory. There are a total of 119 upgrades, and you only need 50 to unlock the achievement, however you’ll need almost all of them for the coliseum and the fight against Amon. At the beginning, upgrades will only cost money, however down the line they’ll cost money and Akame Points, which you earn by completing Stroll n’ Patrol missions and Akame Requests. If you can, try to spend as little Akame Points as possible on your upgrades until you purchase the discount investment which unlocks at Akame Network level 7. You don’t necessarily need the investment, but it just makes things a little easier.
Combat
Used Ultimate Counter 5 times. To unlock this achievement, you need to use the Ultimate Counter 5 times. This move is explained early on in the game and is done when an enemy charges up an attack with a red aura appearing around them, before typically lunging at you. If you dodge/quickstep right as they’re gonna attack, you’ll do an Ultimate Counter, which allows you to then hit the enemy back by pressing the grab button (Circle on PS, B on Xbox). You’re most likely gonna get this without trying as this move is very useful and you’re probably gonna utilize it a lot during combat.
Like a Spider
Activated the Spider gadget during battle 50 times.
To unlock this achievement, you need to use the Spider gadget 50 times. The Spider gadget is available from the start of the game, and it used by holding the grab button and it pulls enemies towards you. You need to use the gadget 50 times for this achievement. The gadget achievements might seem a little daunting as 50 times seems a little excessive but it really isn’t, as I got each of them in around 2 minutes each.
Like a Bee
Activated the Hornet gadget during battle 100 times.
To unlock this achievement, you need to use the Hornet gadget 100 times. The Hornet gadget is unlocked in Chapter 2 when you’re prompted to visit the weaponsmith Mizorogi, and it summons drones by holding the heavy attack button (Triangle on PS, Y on Xbox). You need to use the gadget 50 times for this achievement.
Like a Firefly
Detonated the Firefly gadget during battle 50 times.
To unlock this achievement, you need to use the Firefly gadget 50 times. The Firefly gadget is unlocked in chapter 2 when you’re prompted to visit the smokeshop, immediately after meeting Mizorogi and obtaining the Hornet gadget, and it throws an explosive cigarette by holding the light attack button (Square on PS, X on Xbox). You need to use the gadget 50 times for this achievement.
Like a Snake
Activated the Serpent gadget during battle 50 times.
To unlock this achievement, you need to use the Serpent gadget 50 times. The Serpent gadget is unlocked near the end of Chapter 2 when you’re prompted to go back to Mizorogi’s before your return to the Coliseum, and it allows you to hover around in combat by holding the quickstep button (X on PS, A on Xbox). You need to use the gadget 50 times for this achievement. The game counts activation by just moving using the gadget regardless of distance, or whether you hit someone or not, so you can just keep spamming the activation button and doing it in bursts to unlock it very quickly.
Extremely Heated
Used Extreme Heat 30 times.
To unlock this achievement, you need to use Extreme Heat 30 times. Extreme Heat is activated by pressing the Heat Mode button (R2 on PS, RT on Xbox) when you have at least one heat bar. It increases the damage that you deal and also changes some of the basic attacks. You’re most likely gonna get this without trying as Extreme Heat is very useful and you’re probably gonna utilize it a lot during combat.
Whip-Splash
Threw an enemy into the river with the Spider gadget.
Like the description says, you need to throw an enemy into the river in Sotenbori with Spider gadget for this achievement to unlock. First, you need to go to either the north or south side, then to a spot with one of the short staircases. Stand at around the top with your back facing the river, then activate the Spider gadget and pull the left joystick back. For some reason this achievement only unlocked after I threw 3 guys into the river, so if it doesn’t unlock the first time, keep trying until it does.
Castle Ranks
Earned a Silver rank at the Castle.Gold Tier
Earned a Gold rank at the Castle.
Both this and the previous achievement cannot be missed as they are required to advance in the story. To earn Gold rank, you need to raise the Akame Network level to 10, and complete any 3 Silver rank coliseum matches.
Platinum Tier
Earned a Platinum rank at the Castle.
Unlike Silver and Gold rank, Platinum rank isn’t required for the story, but you still do need it for this achievement and also to enter parts of the Castle and to unlock the Platinum fights. To earn Platinum rank, you need to raise the Akame Network level to 20, and complete any 3 Gold rank coliseum matches.
Coliseum
Completed all matches with a Silver rank.Self explanatory. For this achievement, you need to complete all Silver rank matches. Honestly the Silver matches really aren’t difficult, the only ones that are a little annoying are the Mr. Try and Hit Me matches, but even then they didn’t take me longer than 15 seconds each.
Refer to this guide for information on the Silver rank fights: Silver Ranked Fights
Hell’s Patron
Completed all matches with a Gold rank.
Self explanatory. For this achievement, you need to complete all Gold rank matches. Gold rank is where it started to get a little more challenging. One of the Hell Team Rumble matches was pretty annoying (I think the 3rd one? can’t remember), but they aren’t anything you shouldn’t be able to complete if you have a good amount of upgrades and have a decent team. Also, for the gambling match, always bet the highest amount as even at the highest wager, the fight is not that difficult.
Refer to this guide for information on the Gold rank fights: Gold Ranked Fights
Hell’s Champion
Completed all matches with a Platinum rank.
Self explanatory. For this achievement, you need to complete all Platinum rank matches. Platinum rank has a few more matches than the previous ranks. I recommend having a good amount of upgrades and some good gear, and a good clan for the team matches. For the gambling match, you can now bet up to 10 million yen, which I suggest you do as it isn’t too difficult, but make sure to save right before just in case you mess up. For the final two Special Event Matches, you need to complete the Four Kings storyline to unlock them.
Refer to this guide for information on the Platinum rank fights: Platinum Ranked Fights
Here’s my clan for reference: Sugiura, Chicken Man, Sheep Man, Kamiyama, Gary Buster Holmes, Mr. Masochist, Munan Akamatsu, Higashi, Kaito, and Excellent Sujiya. (Try to get all members of your team to Level 20 and Friendship Level 3)
Refer to this guide on how to recruit all the fighters for the Coliseum: All Recruitable Fighters
Welcome to the Family
Recruited 10 members to the Joryu Clan.
Strength in Numbers
Recruited 20 members to the Joryu Clan.
They Can’t Stop Us All
Recruited 30 members to the Joryu Clan.
Self explanatory. For this achievement to unlock, you need to recruit 30 members to the Joryu Clan. You can recruit members either by completing the Akame Requests, or paying recruiters around the Castle. There are 37 different characters you can recruit, so you need to get most of them for this achievement. I’m also pretty sure the DLC characters do count toward the achievement as well. You’ll probably already have a lot of members if you completed all the requests and recruited fighters for your team, so if you still haven’t unlocked this achievement by the end of the Coliseum storyline, then just recruit as many as you need until you unlock it.
Rookie Fighter
Reached 1,000 fans.
Up-and-Coming Fighter
Reached 3,000 fans.
Favored Fighter
Reached 10,000 fans.
Prizefighter
Reached 30,000 fans.
Self explanatory. For this achievement to unlock, you need to reach 30,000 fans. As far as I’m aware, the amount of fans you have serves no purpose other than being something that the clan recruiters require you to have before working with you. For example, the highest level recruiter in the upper level of the Casino requires you to have 5,000 fans before he’ll work with you. For me personally I unlocked this without trying, so you shouldn’t face too much trouble. If you finish everything and still haven’t reached 30,000 fans, just keep replaying any of the Platinum tier matcches until you reach the amount of fans needed.
First King Dethroned
Defeated the first of the Four Kings.
To unlock this, you need to defeat Dan Brody, the first of the Four Kings. You can initiate the fight by speaking to him. He stands to the right of the Coliseum recception desk. The fight is a clan match, so you’ll want to have a good clan set up. He’s a little annoying, but the fight is really not that bad.
Second King Dethroned
Defeated the second of the Four Kings.
To unlock this, you need to defeat Kunimitsu Samejima, the second of the Four Kings. Unlike the first fight, this fight is a solo match, which makes it quite easier, and Samejima only has 4 health bars. Though I will admit, his fighting style is very annoying to play against because most of the time he’ll be hovering around and shooting you from afar, but as long as you chase him down quickly, this fight is doable.
Third King Dethroned.
Defeated the third of the Four Kings.
To unlock this, you need to defeat JUSTICE, the third of the Four Kings. ♥♥♥♥ this fight. Seriously, ♥♥♥♥ this fight. This is probably the hardest fight I have experienced in this game. Amon is legit nothing compared to this. It’s a team fight, where he has a few goons and has the previous two kings with him. What makes this fight so bad is two things. His attacks, and his healing/order. He has a weird moveset where he constantly blocks, or he’ll either do a kick combo or use this weird laser beam from this hand that has a pretty wide range. On the other hand, he’ll frequently heal himself and his allies, and he uses his order (greatly recovers health for him and his allies) more than once. The two other kings also have a ton of health. The only way I was able to defeat this fight was by fully leveling all my members to level 20 and even then I was barely able to win. I have read about a strategy where you use Chicken Man instead of Joryu, and use his Heat Mode (the Submachine Gun) on JUSTICE which deals an insane amount of damage. Either way, prepare yourself for this torture.
Fourth King Dethroned
Defeated the fourth of the Four Kings.
To unlock this, you need to defeat Kiyoshi Ugajin, the fourth and final king of the Four Kings. This is a solo fight just like the second king, and despite this guy being the final king, he’s actually the easiest. I managed to defeat him in less than a minute and took no damage without trying. He’s really easy to defeat especially if you were able to defeat all the previous kings.
Coliseum (continued)
Bonded completely with a Joryu Clan member. To Train in Death
Bonded completely with 5 Joryu Clan members.
To Train Beyond
Bonded completely with 10 Joryu Clan members.
To unlock this achievement, you need to bond completely with 10 Joryu Clan members. You’re most likely gonna have this done by the end of the Coliseum storyline. Bonding with clan members refers to both their level from XP and from the Bond Gauge, and to bond completely you need the Clan member to reach Level 20 and be at Bond Level 3. These are both raised by either completing matches with the Clan members, or by gifting them items.
Amon
Defeated Amon.Self explanatory. For this achievement, you need to defeat Amon. With every Yakuza/LaD game, there must be some sort of Amon character as a final substory, and this game is no exception. To unlock the Amon fight, you first need to complete the entire Coliseum storyline by defeating the Four Kings. Once you complete, you’ll receive a new request called “Operation Family Welfare” where you deal with the scum who stole the gadgets from Mizorogi. Completing this request will give you access to the two last Special Event Matches in the Coliseum, followed by the final fight which you unlock after completing all other matches. After this fight, you will receive the substory “Path to the Strongest”. The first part of this substory is the fight against Tetsu Amon. To initiate the fight, you need to speak to Tetsu who is located to the left of the Coliseum reception. The fight against Tetsu Amon is a team fight, and frankly it isn’t too difficult if you know what you’re doing. I made sure to utilize different combos, use Heat Mode, and Joryu’s order. I completed the fight on my first try. After this fight, you’ll then be challenged by Gai Amon. To initiate the fight, you need to speak to Gai by the entrance of the Castle. Before anything, make sure you have the best gear you could get. For me, I like using these items:
Great Fortune Gold Undies: +950 attack +100 defense/blade+bullet defense all effect resistance – bought from the shop in the back of Boutique at the Castle (you need to reach gold or platinum in the coliseum, don’t remember exactly) for 50 million yen
Blesswood Armor Replica +600 defense – J1 locker in the corner of Kiss Shot Billiards & Bar, or could be bought from Mizorogi
Dragon’s Binding +240 attack +600 defense – secret backdoor Boutique shop for 2 million or Akame’s shop for 16k points
Dragon God Amulet +600 attack+defense – bought from Akame’s lv4 shop (obtained by investing in its merchandise) for 60k points
The fight is a normal fight and not a Coliseum fight, so it’s a traditional Amon fight. This is in my opinion the easiest Amon in the series. He doesn’t have any crazy gadgets at his disposal like the previous entries other than the gadgets you have for your Agent style. The only issue you might have trouble with is that he constantly heals himself whenever he has drones above his head. He also does have some irritating moves with the gadgets. You’ll eventually be able to read his moves after a while so it just feels more like a chore than anything hard.
Collectibles
Obtained 10 types of equipment items.Self explanatory. Equipment items can be purchased from different places, they can be found as hidden items, and you can get them from coin lockers, so you’ll naturally unlock this achievement just by playing the game and doing different side activities.
Fashion Scrub
Obtained 15 types of outfit items.
Fashionista
Obtained 30 types of outfit items.
Trendsetter
Obtained 50 types of outfit items.
Self explanatory. Outfit items are the items you could have Kiryu wear through the Boutique. Most outfit items are found in the Boutique, and a handful are found in Akame’s shop. There are 70 outfit items not counting the starting outfit items so you need to get most of them for the achievement. Note that the higher your Castle rank is, the more outfit items you can purchase, with Platinum having every outfit item at the Boutique available for sale. Just keep purchasing items until the achievement pops up.
Locked Up
Obtained 30 items from coin lockers.
Self explanatory. There are 50 coin lockers, so you need to open a little more than half of them for the achievement. I suggest using the Contact Lenses gear as it shows the locations of the coin locker keys on your map. You can obtain it by either opening Locker D2 or purchasing it from Mizorogi for 14,000 yen.
Refer to this guide for the locations of all locker keys: Locker Keys[www.powerpyx.com]
Gotta Catch Some Balls!
Obtained some Balls.
To unlock this trophy, you need to collect any one of the 7 Gold Balls. The Akame Request “Gotta Catch ’em Balls!” requires you to collect all 7.
Refer to this guide for the locations of all gold balls: Gold Balls[www.powerpyx.com]
Minigames
Won a game of darts.Self explanatory. You can play darts at either Stijl Bar in Sotenbori, or in the Coliseum lobby. Any game mode will count, but I suggest playing 301 as it’s the quickest. Also, you need to play against another player for the achievement to unlock, so you can either do this against the guy in Stijl Bar who wants to play a game for a Stroll n’ Patrol mission, or one of the available partners you can choose when you interact with the dart board.
Rising Superstar
Went to karaoke with Akame and sang a duet.
To unlock this achievement, you need to sing a karaoke duet with Akame. You can do this after you complete the first Drink Link event, which will automatically happen when you reach Gold rank in the Castle. Once you do this you can go to Bar New Momoko to sing karaoke, then choose to sing a duet with Akame. The only song you can duet in this game is “Like a Butterfly”, with Akame singing and Kiryu providing backup. Complete the song and you’ll earn the achievement.
Pocket Circuit Pro
Unlocked the Masters Circuit in Pocket Circuit.
To unlock this achievement, you need to unlock the Masters Circuit race in Pocket Circuit. This race is unlocked about halfway through the progression of Pocket Circuit, and is when you’re shown the back room.
Refer to this guide for all the necessary information on Pocket Circuit: Pocket Circuit[www.powerpyx.com]
Left in the Dust
Won 3 Rival Matches in Pocket Circuit.
To unlock this achievement, you need to win 3 Rival Matches in Pocket Circuit. Rival Matches are different from normal races as you only race one opponent, and you need to first find them through Stroll n’ Patrol missions. The courses you race them on are the exact same as the normal races, so you can use the same recommended builds for the courses mentioned in the guide above to beat them.
The Man Who Had Too Many Hobbies
Played 10 minigames.
To unlock this achievement, you need to play 10 different minigames. This game includes many minigames that are available in the previous entries, so you have a lot of options to choose from for this achievement. For minigames to count, you can start them and then immediately quit if you wanna save time. These are the minigames that count toward this achievement:
Shogi
Mahjong
Pool
Blackjack
Poker
Golf
Darts
Oicho-kabu
Koi-Koi
Master System
Pocket Circuit
Karaoke
UFO Catcher
Virtua Fighter 2.1
Sonic the Fighters
Fighting Vipers 2
Motor Raid
Sega Racing Classic 2
Surgical Precision
Completed a 1-Shot Challenge on normal difficulty.
To unlock this achievement, you need to complete the 1-Shot Challenge on Normal difficulty. 1-Shot Challenge is a pool minigame where you need to sink a red ball with one shot while avoiding different obstacles. You need to complete the Easy difficulty first to unlock the Normal difficulty.
Refer to this video for instructions on how to beat all 1-Shot Challenges: 1-Shot Challenges (Credit to DanteDevil12)
Royal Gambler
Played at the casino and gambling hall in the Castle.
To unlock this achievement, you need to play a game at both the Casino and Gambling Hall in the Castle. You can choose any game you’d like in either location, and just like the earlier minigames achievement, you can just start then immediately quit if you wanna save time.
Heavenly VIP
Completed all hostess missions at Club Heavenly.
To unlock this achievement, you need to reach 3 hearts with both of the hostesses at Club Heavenly in Sotenbori. For this achievement and the “Castle VIP” achievement, I suggest equipping the “mini-more Perfume” that can be purchased from Ebisu Pawn Sotenbori. This increases the amount of affection you gain through interactions, which can make this a little quicker.
Castle VIP
Completed all hostess missions at Castle Cabaret.
To unlock this achievement, you need to reach 3 hearts with all 3 hostesses at the Castle Cabaret. The steps for this achievement are pretty much the same as the previous achievement.
Retro Gamer
Played 5 different games on the SEGA Master System.
To unlock this achievement, you need to play any 5 different games on the SEGA Master System. You can find it in the Daidoji Hideout, which you’ll be able to access from Chapter 3. By default it starts with 4 games, so you need to collect at least 1 more game for this. Like some of the previous achievements, you can start and then immediately quit for the games to count.
Arcade Dweller
Played 6 different games at the arcade.
To unlock this achievement, you need to play all 6 different games available at either arcade in Ijincho or Sotenbori. Like some of the previous achievements, you can start and then immediately quit for the games to count. These are the arcade games that count:
UFO Catcher
Virtua Fighter 2.1
Sonic the Fighters
Fighting Vipers 2
Motor Raid
Sega Racing Classic 2
The Dragon of Dojima
Obtained all achievements.
