Just a basic achievement guide, nothing more, nothing less! I hope you had as much fun with the game as I did!
All Achievements with a Hint of Walkthrough
About Time: The clock puzzle is located in the left tower once you go up the stairs to the second floor in the foyer. You’ll need to have collected all the coins to open the door. To get the missing hand, grab the key from the back of the coffin to the right of the clock and use it to unlock the second tower door. The second tower is opposite of the first tower. The “darkest hour” to turn the clock hands to was mentioned in one of the letters, but if you missed it, it’s “4:20 PM” – the moment of sacrifice!
Door Breaker: Get this one by opening the first tower door after collecting all the coins. The order is Soldier – Sword – Monster – Immortality.
Easy Prey: Go on, let Dracula have a little nibble.
Coin Finder: You’ll need to have collected all the canvasses found throughout the castle and bring them to the fountain. Interact with the silver sign to learn the hint poem. The trick to the order of the canvases is to look at the arrows on the ground attached to the canvas frames: the frames closest to you have arrows pointing down, the one furthest has an arrow pointing up. The canvas placement order is: Valley – Dark Clouds – Dark Clouds – Moon.
Beethoven’s Disciple: The room with the piano will be unveiled when you solve the library puzzle (see: Sherlock) and the piano can be played after collecting the sheet music from the music stand on the second floor. To solve the puzzle, all you need to do is follow the button/key press prompts when they line up with the red circle. You’ll need to perform the piece twice to solve the puzzle – the first round is the practice round!
Castle Cleaner: Kill all the ghosts and the bats (Lilith is not necessary for this achievement, but you should murder her anyway). Every room in the castle except the foyer, towers, and basement have at least one bat and/or ghost. The ghosts will moan and the bats flap and squeak for their audio cues, so if you hear something, be looking around.
Good Eyes: On the second floor you’ll encounter a room with six bat statues and two moon paintings. Turn the bat statues to face the moon paintings. The bats closest to a moon painting should face that particular painting and there should be three bat statues per painting.
Excellent Reader: There are three letters in the game, all of which are right next to save points in the servant’s storage rooms. You should read them all! They might have clues to other puzzles…
Vandal: To solve this, first you’ll need to collect the dead bat from the first floor pantry and the thermal bottle from a chest in the servant’s sleeping quarters. Take both to the garden and feed the dead bat to the meat-eating plant we’ll call Audrey. After Audrey has been well-fed, she’ll start spitting up some acid. Fill the thermal bottle with the acid, then return to the foyer. You’ll find Dracula’s portrait on one of the first floor walls. Pour the acid on the portrait to finish this puzzle – everyone’s an art critic!
Fireman: A dining room in the castle has a fireplace with a cheery, warm fire that needs to be put out to obtain one of the canvas puzzle pieces. On the first floor there are two servant bathrooms: one has an empty bucket, the other has a broken pipe dripping water. I trust you’ll know what to do.
Hungry: Find the dead bat in the pantry and feed it to the meat-eating plant in the garden – Feeeed me, Seymore!
Giving Up: As soon as you enter the castle, Dracula will tell you to leave. Take his advice, turn right back around, and nope out that front door.
Vampire King: You got all the achievements! Hooray!
What? At the start of the game, you talk to your boss and he gives you an ultimatum: get the scoop or get fired. Keep talking to him repeatedly until he gives in and lets you keep your job without having to do a dang thing.
The End: Complete the game up until the point where you’re prompted to go into the basement catacombs to collect the crystals and activate the portal. Instead of doing that, just leave! Saving the world sounds like someone else’s problem (Note: I’m not 100% sure if you have to complete the game all the way to that particular point or not, but that is what triggered the achievement for me; you can also trigger the No Job achievement at the same time if you haven’t picked up the jacket yet).
No Job: Bram’s jacket is on one of the bunk bed’s in the guest room, but you’re going to ignore it. DO NOT pick it up, just finish the game without it in your inventory.
Fallen Wife: Kill Dracula’s lady love by taking pictures of her until she dies. Five or six photos should do it. The easiest time to do this is when she’s in the garden and there’s plenty of room for you to maneuver around her.
No Eyes: You know what, let Lilith have a nibble of you, too!
Employed: Bram’s jacket is on one of the bunk beds in the second tower’s guest room. Collect it then take the game to completion.
