The Bathhouse 100% Walkthrough & Achievement Guide

 Tried to make it as detailed as possible, experimented with all options to see what matters as far as getting the ending achievements. Many things that seemed like they might matter don’t- like examining the hole, and dialogue options. My guide isn’t definitive, you can do things slightly different to get the same results. I also included a few personal choices such as throwing away the creepy doll as Maina and not touching it at all as Erena.

Achievements will also be noted in the walk-through, but here’s an overview for your viewing pleasure.

Easiest to get out of the way Day 1, on your way to work at the baths. Go up the hill to the right of the main street. Go past the temple grounds and up an additional set of stairs. Fish out the bundles, and place them on the four racks on the temple grounds. Once all 13 are fished and placed, the achievement unlocks.

Follow the guide and intentionally skip or get things wrong. Easiest way in my opinion is to follow the guide but when prompted to grab the tongs, just don’t and fill the boilers with wood instead. Skip the basement hatch section, return to work and continue the game as normal from that point. Failing the matching puzzle couldn’t hurt too.

We are introduced to our main character, Maina. She monologues about quits her job to work at a bathhouse in exchange for free rent.

• Pick up all your boxes
• Head upstairs to Room 203
• Meet your new landlord, who is also your new boss
• Holding your key, enter Room 203
• Drop your boxes at the interaction spot below the hole in the wall
• Check out the hole, but either don’t click or select “…”
• Leave your new home

 

• Walk down the street towards the small town
• Near the end of the grey wall, look right
• Go up stairs to the temple grounds
• Note monk, but don’t talk to him yet
• Pass through temple grounds, go up next set of stairs
• Use fishing pole on bridge to fish out sacks from the pond
• Place them on four decorative hangers in temple courtyard downstairs
• [UNLOCK: Collector]

• Go down stairs back to the main street
• Continue walking away from home
• Baths are near the end to the right- no door, blue and red curtains
• Talk to boss/lord on men’s side, past blue curtain
• Work behind the counter, fulfilling customer requests
• Nap when done hearing/reading radio newscast
• Go check on Futa in the men’s baths
• Walk in the men’s sauna
• Check the boiler room (Skippable: Not important)
• Talk to Futa again
• Return to work in the lobby
• Woman puts on clothes and rings a bell. Enjoy a nice chat as she leaves
• Go to men’s side
• Grab a broom from the small supply closet to the right of the door
• Sweep all the black patches in both sides of the baths
• In the women’s side, select the first stool on the back of the left side.
• Take shower by activating faucet below mirror

• Look at the hole again, but do not pull
• Leave home
• Go to mourning woman in front of the baths
• Notice crow

 

• Go to work
• Help customers
• Talk to Denko
• Look for a Mysterious Girl in the women’s lobby doorway
• Nap, because nbd I guess
• Get drink from fridge on men’s side
• Go to Keichi in bath, give him his drink
• Power out
• Enter the appliance store
• Talk to Denko
• Try to take key
• Pull fire alarm
• Take the key while she’s distracted
• Go outside, to behind the building
• Open the breaker while holding the stolen key, flip switch
• Return to the baths)
• Take gear from the supply closet and clean up again. Note a spooky stain by the women’s sauna
• Shower
• Bath
• Look to your right at the lobby and wait after
• Head to the men’s side, turn off the showers

• Check hole again, do not pull still
• Leave
• Check sign by candy store
• Notice monkey outside bathhouse
• Get to work
• Help customers. Notice sign to get baking soda
• Answer phone
• Leave
• Talk to man with cart, Imojiro

 

• Enter candy shop
• Talk to Umeki
• Find Tama-Chan in the bathroom near home
• Return Tama-chan
• Get key and doll
• Use key on the chest in the back to get the baking soda
• Throw away the doll in the trash across from baths
• Return to baths
• Scrub shower heads with red cloud coming off while holding baking soda
• Shower, take a look to your right
• Enjoy the sauna
• Leave

• Continue to ignore the hole. This is fine
• Leave home
• Go to the park
• Talk to Matsuno
• Go to the temple
• Ask the monk for blessing

 

• Go to work
• Check on Shotaro in the men’s lobby
• Pick up first aid kit on the floor of the women’s baths
• Return to Shotaro holding first aid kit
• Talk to Michi
• Check on ♥♥♥♥ in the women’s bathroom
• Get toilet paper on top of supply closet
• Return to women’s bathroom
• Get supplies from closet, clean drains on both sides
• Shower
• Look into the corner bath to your left

• Talk to Maho
• Grab your bag
• Check Maina’s car
• Approach Room 203
• Talk to BossLord
• Enter Room 205
• Set down your bag at the interaction point
• Check out room

• Go to bathhouse
• Work
• Pick up dirty towels on women’s side lobby
• Talk to Sanami
• Go left, check floor next to far bath
• Pick up Room 203 keys
• Leave after speaking with Matsuno
• Go uphill to the temple, take firewood below sign
• Use 5 yen coin to pray at the altar
• Pull charm, gain newspaper piece A
• Go to apartment 203, use the key
• Pick up newspaper B, leave doll
• Move tatami, pick up newspaper c
• Use newly combined items to “read newspaper”
• Read Yoko’s Diary
• Grab sweet potato from fridge
• Leave
• Go to trash area across from the baths
• Give sweet potato to the crow
• Check the ground for a key
• Pick up, use on marked locker in the left side of bath entryway
• Take trash key
• Use key on locked door in trash area across the street
• Take drain tube

 

• Go to the boiler room
• Pick up tongs to the left of the boilers. Use them to check the bottom of each boiler
• Last one to the right has Boiler Key
• Use pipe on broken washer to drain it. Use dirty towels on it to wash them
• Wait, take washed towels
• Place them in women’s side lobby under the rubber ducky sign
• Go back to boiler room
• Use boiler room key on rear door
• Use conveniently lit basement hatch
• Crouch and walk into small dark path
• Look for two notes on the ground before the altar and read them
• Read the book on the altar
• Pick up bolt cutters to the left of the altar
• Go to the rear column with a chain wrapped around the base
• Follow the chain holding the cutters until prompted to cut, then do so
• Examine the occupant
• Leave hatch
• Return to boiler room
• Add firewood to each boiler, pick up last one from boiler room floor
• Go to women’s baths, enter the sauna
• Speak to your sister
• Take one more shower at the usual spot

The following puzzle gives you 5 minutes to take items from the women’s lobby, see where they are placed in the men’s baths, then mirror their placement in the women’s baths. Try to get an idea of the screenshot positions and bath layout before you start to help. Once correct, the puzzle auto completes and the sequence ends. This guide will show you where to put the bath items in the women’s baths from screenshots as I placed them.

Place a stool in the spot closest to the wall, front pool

Place a tub on the other side of the pool, closest to the wall

On the first shower island facing the pools, place the body wash on the last spot to the right

Place the rubber ducky in the bath at the end, straight ahead from the pool entry

At the end of the shower island row, go to the other side facing the far showers. Place the conditioner at the end, closest to the sauna

Place a stool at the far-wall shower right outside sauna

To the left of the stool Maina uses to shower all game, place the shampoo

Next to the stool, also place a tub

Put the last stool in between the first two shower islands, closer to the middle island

The following area and credits, at time of writing this, are dumb buggy. Had to replay the game several times to retest a path because it would freeze at credits, then reload me for the day at a fail state even if I should have gotten the good ending. Verify game files and all that if you have issues.

Be ready to run

• Either cut through hair, or walk into a wall of water, but either way leave the bathhouse
• Keep running, do not look back
• Prepare the red Room 205 key as you run
• Go to 205 and enter
• Proceed further into room
• At this point, one of two cutscenes will play out depending on Good or Bad ending.
