For Olija players, if you are trying to achieve complete achievement of the game, here I will tell you how to get 100% steam achievements in Olija.
Intro
This guide will show you how to get all the achievements. Sadly, I could not find every single ship in a bottle. I thought I had explored every area, but I only ended up finding 27 of 40. Either way, they aren’t needed for 100% achievements. So following this guide exactly should give you every achievement.
Major spoilers ahead, but you could have guessed that.
Start of the game
The first and easiest achievement will be Lord Gardener. Simply put, you need to attack 30 total grass patches/bushes. There are some in every area in the game (except for the home base), so getting this will be a breeze..After getting the compass and escaping the giant sludge monster, you are taken to the home base where you get your first map. Return to the boatman and head to the dock left of base, Shadow Creek, so you can get the harpoon as soon as you can.
Shadow Creek
Likely to be the first achievement you get is Oni ha sotto. Just blow the horn that calls the boatman a few times. Once he throws rocks at you, the achievement should pop!

Throughout the game as you explore, you will find chests. Heading directly left after arriving at Shadow Creek, you will find your first chest.
You will have to do a downward attack after jumping to break the floor here. Finding and getting to chests throughout the game is easy once you get ahold of the controls, and there are more than enough chests to get the achievement for them. In total, you will need to open 10 chests.

Throughout the game, in order to get keys you must enter doors that have black tentacles slightly coming out of them. Once they are exited, they cannot be re-entered, so be careful to explore them thoroughly before you are done.
Inside the dark door, after going left and falling, head directly left. You will find a man hanging by a rope inside a cage. Go up from there to get your first real weapon, which is your first side-weapon. With it, you can cut ropes. Free the caged man and he will go back to home base. You can purchase hats from him using money and resources you find while exploring.
You will the n go directly right. When you come to a ladder up, you will want to instead fall down and go all the way left, not going up any. Enter creature mouth thing and it will bring you to a room with not only a chest, but also the collectible of the game, ship in a bottle. There are __ total, and this should be the first one you come across.
Go back to where you initially fell down and instead go up. There is a bunch of money and another chest, and continuing left there is the key! That is it for this area.
There is another ship in a bottle all the way left of the dark door. You will have to fall down and then take a ladder back up slightly left of that in order to get to the bottle.
Now that you have a key, you can open the gate that leads to the harpoon! (Directly below the dark door)
Heading left, you will see a hanging platform. Cut that and the cage down and head down with them. To the right is another chest. Careful of the spikes on the floor.
All the way to the left down there is a hole. This area in inaccessible until you have the harpoon, so keep this in mind.
Also, going up and then continuing left you will find the door out. If you listen carefully, you will hear the first music box. It is above you, through the hole in the ceiling. Again, inaccessible until you have the harpoon. So go ahead and continue through the door.
Continue left and you’ll come across some enemies and then another chest behind a locked door. Go up and around to open it and get the chest.
Further left is another door. Go through and immediately, draw your attention to the top of the screen where there is a little eyeball. Again, inaccessible until you have the harpoon.
Continue further left, past the man playing the flute and you will come across the harpoon’s resting place. Ignore that and go even further left and you will be able to get your first music box (1/8). I first thought I needed something else because it was behind a waterfall, but the waterfall does nothing other than slightly hide the fact it is there.
Go back to the right and enter the temple.
If you look carefully, you can see trip wires and crossbows. Just react to where the arrow comes from and you should have an easy time.
Go down the elevator and head right to find a chest. This has a lot of crossbow-tripwire traps, so be careful.
Now continue to the left. Before you enter the next door, you can see spikes over a weird looking ground. Mid-air down-attack in the middle to find the next ship in a bottle!
Now go through the door, head right, and get the harpoon!
Follow the tutorial, but once you fall down, head left until you find the next ship in a bottle.
That is Shadow Creek “completed”. The game will take you back to Oaktide, the home base, but you should go back to get to those places previously inaccessible without the harpoon. For now, just go along with the story.
In order to get the achievement Backslash, I recommend you try it throwing the harpoon at an already air-borne enemy, attack it, then harpoon dash into it. I got this achievement without trying to get it, as in by just playing through the combat.
Oaktide part 1
At Oaktide, you will appear in your room, where you got the first map. Left, you can purchase a shop where you can then purchase health upgrades. Further left is a cook where you can fill your health to max if you were missing any. In the same area as the cook, there are beds that you can jump onto and get onto the roof where there sits a chest.
Even further left you can purchase a store that you can send out to bring back resources. I recommend using it when you have extra money because there is a certain resource that is fairly difficult to acquire.
Last time, further left is the boatman and the hat seller/maker that you freed. This is the only place the resources you gather will come in use (except for one of the resources). Head to the right and in the corner, throw your harpoon up to get a music box (2/8).
If you were attacking skeletons throughout the first level, you should have enough resources in order to craft the first hat, getting you the achievement Along the Nile.

Before heading back to Shadow Creek, make sure, if you have the money, to send out the Explorator in order to get some more resources.
Return to Shadow Creek
Up from there and to the left, before the next door, remember the hole in the ceiling? Throw your harpoon up there and teleport up to get the next music box (3/8).That should be everything in Shadow Creek. You can go back and kill more enemies for money, but it isn’t entirely necessary. You can either return to Oaktide or continue to Shadow Gate.
Shadow Gate part 1
Right away, you will see one of the dark doors. Before going in it, just head right and into the much larger door. Head all the way to the right to trigger a cutscene. After it is done, head back out and into the dark door.
Going right, you get trapped and imprisoned. No big deal because you can get out to the right and get your harpoon back. Continue exploring to the left. Eventually you’ll come to a door. Before going through it, go to the platform above the door and go right. There is a spot in the wall you can go through. Here you will find another ship in a bottle!
Go through the door and then left, down a pit that breaks away after walking over the platform above it.
Once down here, head all the way right and use the bouncy platform to get to the lever.
Go back up and through the now open path. Continue on right. Fall down at the next point you can and head left to talk to a man. Afterwards, go back up and continue right and through the locked door.
Along the way right, keep your focus on the top of the screen to spot a ship in a bottle. Go below it and throw your harpoon up to get it!
Continue right and through the next door. Further right and a cutscene will play. Continue right and you will acquire your second side-weapon, the Rottenwood Repeater, and also the next map.
Continue right until you find a door. Sadly, you get ambushed and have to do a bunch of fighting. Afterwards, continue right and through the next door. Before going right, past the orange-leafed tree, draw your attention to the bottom left of the screen. Down-attack there and fall down to find a ship in a bottle! Go back and continue on.
Get ready for the first boss fight.
Defeating the boss gets you the first of 3 blue keys.
Go right and release Olija from her confines.
Back to Oaktide.
Oaktide part 2
A boat full of Olija’s worshippers come to take her back. You’ll be meeting her a few times later on.
Not much to do. At this point, you should be able to have purchased at least 2 hats.
Make sure to get health upgrades and send out the Explorator for more resources.
Now, sail to Waterfall, where Olija currently is. I found it best to go to where she is before the other area(s).
Waterfall – Meet Olija part 1
Here, there are plants you can cut down in order to get the Reeds resource.
Head right and into the door. Follow Olija all the way to the right, and at the end of the cutscene, you can interact with the box on the edge of the land to get a key.
That is it for this island. Yeah, that’s it. Now it is time to head to The Forest. This area is large so we will spend a while exploring it all.
The Forest
Upon landing, head right. You will see the first castaway in a cage! Head right, up, and the back left to cut him down. Interact with him to rescue him (1/10). There is also a chest up there.
On the ground level, head all the way right and into the next dark door.
As soon as you enter, you are on top of a breakable platform. Again, the downward attack to break it. This reveals a ship in a bottle.
Continue right through the little puzzles. Note: you can throw your harpoon through the moth creatures. Continue right and through the hole in the wall.
All the way right, beware of a mini-boss. Keep an eye on the creature at the top as it can attack you while you focus on the other enemies.
Use your harpoon to attack the creature once it reveals itself.
Once defeated, you can continue through the door where you will find the musket. It works like any ol’ shotgun. More dmg at short range. Further right is the key and the exit. Go on and get outta there.
I suggest returning to Oaktide to use the money you got, but you can always stay there and continue on.
Go back up to where you cut down the castaway and head to the right and into the door.
Once inside, head right. You can hear a music box in the distance. In the room with the little altar, throw your harpoon up while standing at the altar. Continuing that way leads to the next music box (4/8).
Once in a room with platforms, drop down below them and go left, behind the dark patch on the screen to find a chest.
To the right of the chest is a gambler trader guy. 5 money to either get a resource or less money back. In my experience, it is not worth it. Continue right and leave the dark cave.
To the right, you come across a campfire. At campfires, you can make musket shells. However, above that is a ship in a bottle. You can harpoon teleport to boxes, so do that and get the bottle.
Continue right and enter the next cave.
Going right, drop down when you can and head right. Go into the creature mouth to pop out on top a castaway cage (2/10). Free him and go left into another cave opening.
On the other side, there are some reeds. Directly above them is a room you can harpoon to. In that room is a ship in a bottle!
Go back down and the left. There is a broken horn that you can fix. Once fixed, this is a dock you can go to using the boatman. You can go back to Oaktide if you want, but I will continue from this dock. Go back through the door on the right and past where you freed the castaway.
One room to the right of the mouth creature that got you to the castaway, there is a ship in a bottle at the top of the screen. Jump over the spikey vine and throw your harpoon at the bottle to get it.
Continue right. Before the mass of spikey vines, throw your harpoon up. Here is an enemy that stops you from throwing your harpoon. Kill him and you can now get across the pit of spikey vines.
Past the pit of spikey vines, head down to open a gate, then from there go right and through the door. In here, there are flying bugs that will drop green feathers. You will need one for a specific hat that makes one of the achievements easier to get.
Going right, you will come across the next caged castaway. Free him and interact with him (3/10).
Go back up to the where the rope was and go right. Using the dashing ability (right trigger on a controller) you can get to the next rope cage easier. Cut it down and then go open the gate on the left of the screen.
Make your way to the next dark door and enter it.
Go right and then find your way to the lever at the top of your screen. It will lower the water level, revealing 2 ship in a bottles that you can now get and also allow you to progress further to the right. Go through the door there.
Get ready for a fight. Be fast!
Once defeated, go the the right and through the door.
As soon as you arrive on the other side of the door, throw your harpoon up through the opening to find another ship in a bottle.
Go back down to find the next key and a chest. Exit through the portal gate thingy.
Return to Oaktide, otherwise return to the most recently found dock (the one that was fixed by you).
Back at Oaktide, you can now purchase the green feathered hat. With this hat, getting the achievement Lime Sour will be a piece of cake. I got it though regular gameplay, attacking enemies.

Now that we have 3 golden keys, we can go get the next blue key.
From The Grove dock (most recently discovered one), head right and through the door. Continue right until you can go up, then continue going right. Enter the path towards the giant tree in the background. Continue right and open the gate with your golden keys. Further right and into the cave.
After entering the cave, head left to get a ship in a bottle, then continue going right. Get ready for a fight!
After you defeat the boss, you get the second blue key. Head left through a door, further left there is a pillar in a room where the exit of a mouth creature is. Down attack on the ground where the pillar is to find a ship in a bottle. Continue left for the next map piece and a weapon upgrade.
Further left is a caged castaway (4/10). Free him!
Go left through the door to exit and you’ll be brought back to Oaktide.
Oaktide part 3
You barely touched your food, my Lord…
With the other item you got from the previous boss and reeds you have collected, you should be able to purchase another hat. At this point, 5 of the hats should be available. It is ok if not, for the only achievement regarding the hats is the first one.
Hop back aboard your boat and sail to The Royal Domain.
The Royal Domain – Meet Olija part 2
Upon arrival, before you go through the door to the right, you may notice a harpoon-able eye in the top right. Go up there for a ship in a bottle! Go back down and through the door now.
Time for a weapon to surpass metal gear or something. What I mean is time for sneaking! The distance you have to be from a guard to be seen is unclear, but no downside in testing the range. Either way, go around their line of sight to get to the end.
Along the way, you will come across a room with a lever and a few harpoon eyes. Triger the lever and use the harpoon as shown in the image in order to get to the top left of the room.
Continue left from there to find a ship in a bottle!
Go back to the room mentioned above and go right this time.
At the end, Olija gives you a key and you are then kicked out of the area. Time to either return to Oaktide, if you want, or continue to Fallen Town.
Fallen Town
You arrive at a ship wreak looking area. Head left and through the door.
Head further left, past the camp fire. Before going into the dark door, let’s explore. Go up from the room where the dark door is.
You will immediately notice a music box. Don’t mind that for now. Go all the way right and you will find a caged castaway (5/10). Free him! Now to the left of the cage is a timed lever. It opens the way to the music box. One the lever is pulled, you need to get to the music box using the harpoon and the yes along the way. Keep doing it until you get it (5/8).
Now we are free to enter the dark door.
To the left you will need electricity to open the gate. Go up from this room. Before going right along the path of the yes, you can go left where a couple enemies are. There you will find a chest and a ship in a bottle that you cannot get to yet. Go back and go right this time.
Careful with electricity and water!
With the gate open, go through it. Behind a couple crates is a door. Before going through it, go up, we want that ship in a bottle! Once you get it, go back down and through the door.
To the left a gate blocks the way, so the only way is up in the room one to the right. To the right of that room is a few skeletons and dialogue from the boatman. Nothing useful. Go to the left and a gate will close behind you. You will have a re-fight against the puppet controller monster, but with some water this time. Kill the monster to continue.
Back down to the previously closed gate, go through the door behind it.
Go up and to the left to fight a bunch of enemies. Further left and then down is a room with gates and things that need electricity. Before solving that puzzle, head right and you’ll be in a room with a couple caged people. To the right is a chest, but the caged man room has something more. Use the following image to get to a ship in a bottle!
Following the arrow here leads you to the ship in a bottle.
Go back and solve the electricity gates puzzle then enter the door they blocked.
Further left and through another door.
Go all the way left, then up the ladder, and then back all the way right. Escape sequence time! No point in continuing to kill the little men that come out to attack you. They never stop coming. Just get to the exit, which you passed along the way.
Return the the boatman to head to be taken back to Oaktide. Nothing to do there, so just do whatever you want there and head to The Old Archives.
The Old Archives
Upon landing, go all the way right and talk with the flute guy. I don’t think talking to him is required for anything, but might as well, eh?
Go back left and then enter the doorway.
Go all the way right until you find another doorway. Don’t go in, but go up through an opening in the celing to find a caged castaway (6/10). Free him!
Go left from here and you will come across eyes floating above nothing. Follow them to the next screen over and you will find a ship in a bottle behind a few crates.
You can now head into the doorway all the way to the right.
Open the 2-key gate and continue on right.
Go to the right once and then up to find another caged castaway (7/10) and a chest.
Back down, go further right. and then up again. Further right from there and then down. Here there is the lever to open the next gate. From the lever, go back up and to the right for a music box (6/8) and another chest.
Go through the now open gate and continue right and into the dark door.
Go right and then up the ladder. There is nothing here so continue through the little puzzles to the next door and head through.
Get ready for a triple threat! I recommend abusing the power of ranged side-weapons against the melee user and also taking out the healer first and musketeer second.
Once defeated, head left through the door. Next head right and acquire the final map and exit the area. No reason to stay here longer, so return to Oaktide. There is nothing important to do in Oaktide, so continue onto Wind Shrine.
Wind Shrine – Meet Olija part 3
Go left and then follow Olija.
After following her, you are presented with the final side-weapon, the Moonblade. It works like the harpoon, but you can stab it into the ground then teleport to it whenever.
Go back to following Olija and then exit the Wind Shrine and head to the next destination, Filap Islands.
Don’t worry, you’ll see her once more.
Filap Islands
Upon arriving, go right and unlock the door with the Moonblade. Recall it once on the other side.
Continue right and go into the door at the end of the path.
Once inside, go right. Below you is a platform. You may have guessed you can do a downward attack to break the floor and you would be wrong lol. Continue right.
Above the sideways facing blasting geyser thing, throw your harpoon up and you will come across a ship in a bottle!
Continue right. Go down the ladder attached to the platform that sits before the door out and then head right to find a chest. From here, go all the way left and you will find a doorway. Enter it.
In here there is a caged castaway (8/10). Maneuver the rooms to come out in the top left and free him! You’ll find a couple chests along the way. Also along the way you’ll come across another music box (7/8).
Exit this area and go right, up, then right into the door. From here, go right until you come across the next golden key gate. Go up and to the right and enter the doorway that is by the ??? guy that you can gamble at.
To the right, you will find the next to last caged castaway (9/10). FREE HIM! Continue up, left, up, and to the right and enter the next dark door.
In here, head down and there will be an elevator in the middle of the room. BEFORE taking the elevator, use the harpoon on the eye to the left and do not retrieve it. If you mess up, just die. It will reset you at the entrance. Activate the elevator and then use the harpoon teleport to get off the elevator. Once the elevator breaks, jump down the hole. This should kill you, giving you the achievement Icarus. After this, just go down normally, riding the elevator.

Once you skillfully and perfectly avoid death, follow the path and through the doorway. Following the path up, you come into a room with something throwing electric balls at you. Make the machine throw an electric ball into the mechanism that will open the gate and then go that way.
Below there is a puzzle. Solve it and follow the path right. At the end, blow up the machine. It will make it quite dark. The Moonblade will light the way back. head back up and now to the right. Flip the lever, open the gate, get the key, and then continue going right, not to the exit portal. You will find a ship in a bottle. Now you can exit.
Go back to Oaktide if you like, I will continue going to the next key.
Head right and back down all the way to the entrance to this area.
From here, go up and up through the spiked path. Before going into the dark door, right below it is the path to the final music box (8/8). It is down a ladder, an easy path back down instead of going through all those spikes.

To the right of the dark door is the flute man. Above him is an eye you can harpoon to. Up here is a ship in a bottle and a lovely view. Go back down and into the dark door.
Head down from here to get a chest, then go back up and to the right. Get through and in the room with the waterfall, go down and cut the rope you can get to. If you’re having trouble crossing the water, remember you can just the right trigger on controller to do a dash dodge like move to give you a lot of extra jump distance. To the right here is the final caged castaway (10/10).

Go back up and to the right past the waterfall. Go into the door.
Go down and to the right. This is a large room and also where the key and a ship in a bottle is. The ship in a bottle is at the top of the screen, right of center. When you go up there, just throw the harpoon at it. To the top left is some reeds.
Get the bottle, chest, and key then get out.
From here, venture forth. Head directly down and then to the right back to the golden key gate and go through now that you have the needed keys.
After going through the opened key gate, head left for health, then go back and up for a boss fight.
While fighting, you’ll end up chasing him upwards. In the room with the waterfall, behind it at the top of the screen is the next ship in a bottle.
Defeat him and he surrenders.
Now you go visit Olija for the last time in the Velvet Islands.
Velvet Islands – Meet Olija part 4
Once you arrive, head all the way right and enter the door at the end.
Once inside, continue going right. You’ll see Olija kill an enemy. Follow her to the right and then outside. Follow her further to the right. Here you will have a good time and also get the final blue key.
Once the cutscenes are over, exit the Velvet Islands.
You will be back at Oaktide, ready with your crew to head back home, through the Shadow Gate. You must row yourself there.
Shadow Gate part 2 – Endgame
There is nothing left to collect. There should just be the one achievement left to get at this point. Go ahead and kill the final boss and open the gate to get the final achievement!
