I put this together because a couple of these puzzles cost me real time — one of them two full hours I’ll never get back — and I’d rather you didn’t repeat my mistakes. Below I’ve laid out every puzzle answer, every ending trigger, the hidden room, plus the achievement shortcuts and the bugs that can bite you mid-run. If you’re going for full completion in Mahou Shoujo Escape, this should cover the whole path.
I’m writing this as a completion-focused player, so I’ve prioritized the exact inputs that unlock achievements and endings over general commentary. One honest caveat up front: the game has a few nasty bugs that can wipe progress if you don’t know the workarounds, and I’ll flag those as we go so you don’t lose a save over something stupid.
The Phone Password: 2481
The phone code is 2481. I got stuck reasoning about this one until I realized the clue sits on the calendar — the last entry has four yellow color blocks, and those four colors map to the number of flowers of that color on the wall. The trap here is that there are two shades of blue, and the dark blue flowers don’t count toward the total. If your numbers are off by one, that’s almost certainly why.
The Bookshelf and the Reversal Card
The reversal card is on the third bookshelf, second row, the tenth book. The hint comes from a drawing plus three objects in a box — I’ll be honest, I couldn’t reconstruct the exact logic chain after the fact, so I’m giving you the solution directly rather than a derivation I can’t stand behind.
The Big Lock by the Bed
Once you have the reversal card from the section above, keep clicking the last drawer below the calendar until you pull out the magic wand. Worth knowing: if you do this before unlocking the phone, you’ll pick up an achievement for it, so sequence accordingly if you’re hunting. Drag the reversal card onto the magic wand to get a key. That key opens the big lock, and what’s inside is a note and the deodorant.
The Deodorant Code: 5123
The deodorant code is 5123. Here’s the part that ate two hours of my life. Open your phone, go to the images, and drag the note onto the phone screen — but you have to align the star pattern on the note with the star button on the phone before the answer reveals itself. I didn’t line them up correctly, ran in circles, and eventually went and asked the author. Don’t be me.
Once the overlap is right, the red line tells you the code reads from the tip of the line. Combined with the “I really want to hug you” line from the love letter, the blue line spells out 5123.
All Endings
There are four endings to collect, and the order below is the one I’d follow if you’re clearing everything. Note that the key you craft can be pointed at several different targets, and each one leads somewhere different — so don’t assume the door is the only option.
| Ending | How to Trigger | My Rating |
|---|---|---|
| End 0 | Die repeatedly — you’ll cycle through several different death outcomes. | Optional |
| End 1 | Take the magic wand from behind the third drawer under the calendar, click the ceiling arrow above, and use the wand on the protagonist to reach “Eternal Little Home.” | Essential |
| End 2 (Giant) | After crafting the key, use it on the door. You can also use it on the window for an achievement, and using it on the lock sets up the prerequisite for End 3. | Essential |
| End 3 (Body Temperature) | After crafting the key, use it on the big lock, collect the paper scrap and deodorant, enter the deodorant code 5123, click the upper viewpoint arrow, and use the deodorant on the protagonist. | Essential |
As for that flavor text at the end of End 3 — the “fresh sweet scent” — yes, it’s exactly as yuri as it reads. Not complaining.
The Hidden Room
The hidden room appears to require all endings collected first. Once you’ve done that, click the square at the bottom of the sticker screen, then on the final page click the red door. You’ll get a spot as (supposedly) one of the first 100 players — repeat the same steps and you’ll be logged as the 101st. Further content past that point hasn’t been updated yet, so there’s nothing more to chase there right now.
Achievement Shortcuts and a Hidden Easter Egg
Two of the achievements are tied to time. Click the small red dot at the very bottom of the time bar to flush and speed up the time flow. Applying the reversal card to the time bar fills it up and freezes the countdown — handy, but be aware that using the reversal card has a chance to soft-lock the game. If that happens, quit out and reload and you’ll be fine.
As for the easter egg: I don’t know the exact trigger condition, but it may require completing End 2. Every so often when you switch rooms, a pair of the other girl’s large eyes will spawn on the ceiling and watch you. First time it happened I genuinely jumped.
Bugs I Ran Into (and How to Fix Them)
These are the ones worth memorizing, because a couple of them can cost you items permanently if you don’t act fast.
- If you die after opening the big lock, the items inside vanish for good. Quit the game to fix it before that sticks.
- Sometimes the time bar freezes and won’t move. Quit and reopen the game to reset it.
- Using the reversal card on the time bar can hard-lock you. Same fix — quit and re-enter.
Closing Thoughts
Honestly, this one’s a fun little game. The art is gorgeous, there’s a huge variety of death CGs, and the animated CGs are a nice touch. If the few game-breaking bugs get patched, it’d be close to flawless for me. I’m holding out hope for the hidden room content to get finished — I want to actually play it.
