This guide covers how to clear all 12 rounds on every track at the highest difficulty in The Loopler — not endless runs, not leaderboard chasing. The core idea is to build a reliable engine, keep fuel flowing, and generate just enough score to cross the finish line each round.
I put this together because a perfect build isn’t required — if you don’t have a recommended card or charm unlocked, grab whatever comes closest and supports the same concept. This is a foundational guide; a more detailed breakdown with charm and card presets is coming later for players at max level. The game is barely a week old, so cut me some slack.

Core Philosophy: Reliable Engine Over Big Combos
Cards that fire constantly will outperform cards with massive effects that demand a specific setup. That’s the single most important thing to internalize before touching a single gate.
For gates, a straightforward chain carries a huge number of runs:
Fuel Gate → Multiplier Gate → Score Gate → Gold Gate
Once your cards are generating enough fuel on their own — ideally via loop or gate triggers — swap the Fuel Gate out for another scoring gate.
Upgrade individual gates rather than multiplying them or stacking multiples of the same gate at low level. Variety and scaling win here. Gate placement also matters: order things so the multiplier gate fires before whatever effect benefits from it.
Editor Warning: The most common mistake is overbuilding. Once your engine works, stop adding new pieces and pour resources into upgrades. You only need to survive 12 rounds — not go infinite. Keep it simple with a dependable engine.
Build Ideas by Car
Dura Car
Core themes: simple score, fuel, boost.
- Skip the fancy stuff. Lock in reliable fuel first, then fill remaining slots with repeatable score.
- Boost cards + fuel cards + scoring gates.
- Build money through gates or temporarily lean on gold cards.
- Stack repeated boost cards to ramp boost fast, then multiply scoring gates and/or bring in scaling gates like Chain.
When in doubt, use Dura Car’s extra durability to play greedy for gold farming and keep pushing forward.
Gold Car
Core themes: economy and scaling.
- Use the extra gold to buy aggressively at pit stops.
- Once your economy is comfortable, stop investing in gold entirely and pivot everything toward score.
- The 70% durability cap shouldn’t hold you back from playing greedy — just repair when needed.
- Same as most cars: ramp boost fast with repeated boost cards, multiply scoring gates, and/or use scaling gates like Chain.
Slot Car
Core themes: tons of gates plus lots of simple triggers. This is one of the easiest cars to make consistent because of the extra card and gate slots.
- Exploit the extra slots by stacking effects that trigger constantly.
- Chain gates are extremely useful, along with global stacks or multipliers.
- Don’t fill extra slots with niche cards just because they’re available.
- Standard approach: ramp boost fast with repeated boost cards, multiply scoring gates, and/or use scaling gates like Chain.
Ghost Car
Core themes: ghosts, easy score, global multipliers.
- Get a reliable ghost source online early using cards and charms. Use it to trigger global multipliers, fuel, or score — provided you have enough charms to make ghosts spawn faster and last longer.
- No need to go all-in on ghosts. Normal scoring strategy is sufficient alongside them.
Drift Car
Core themes: drift, boost, fuel, score.
- Take advantage of the free drift charms immediately. Build around cards that trigger from drifting and use them to generate boost and fuel.
- Drift cards + boost cards + fuel cards.
- Drifting Gate is great for sustaining the drift engine — don’t overcomplicate it. You only need enough drift to keep boost, fuel, and score flowing.
- Once the drift setup runs consistently, shift focus to score instead of stacking more drift effects.
Rocket Car
Core themes: boost and fast scoring.
- Rocket Car has very little durability, so a slow economy build is a death sentence. Get fuel and scoring online as fast as possible.
- I’ve never run a full overdrive setup — it never felt as consistent as my general strategy. That said, Overload Gate and Overdrive Gate are especially useful if you go that route.
- Slot in fuel cards the moment sustaining the run gets dicey. The goal is to score fast enough that low durability never becomes a problem.
- Don’t waste slots on gold or convoluted scaling. Get fast, get boosted, and score.
Luck Car
Core themes: lucky chance, multipliers, simple score.
- Build up lucky chance while keeping the rest of the run simple.
- Lucky cards + scoring cards + multiplier gates.
- Clover Gate is extremely useful for stacking lucky chance, while Lucky Gate and Double Gate turn lucky hits into big score.
- Once your lucky chance is rolling, stop grabbing random cards just because they interact with luck. Keep enough fuel and boost to actually finish the run.
Editor Warning: If the luck setup isn’t coming together by mid-run, fall back to a normal boost + score build rather than forcing it. A half-built luck engine will brick your run.
Tank Car
Core themes: gates, scaling, raw consistency.
- This car is all about abusing the stronger gates. Grab useful gates early and keep upgrading them rather than constantly buying new ones.
- Multiplier gates + Chain gate + score gates.
- Tank Car gets huge value from Chain because you’re already incentivized to build around multiple gates.
- Don’t fear the chance for gates to be damaged — it’s manageable.
- Avoid complicated cards. A solid fuel card and a boost card will do. The gates are the build.
Freeze Car
Core themes: freeze, scaling, reliable score.
- Get the freeze engine running as early as possible. The longer the car stays frozen, the more value you get from increased stats and no fuel drain.
- Freeze cards + Frozen Gate + simple scoring.
- Frozen Gate is one of the most important gates for this car. Drifting Gate is a strong secondary choice if you have a card that builds freeze on drift.
- Once freeze is working, return to the standard plan: build boost, maintain fuel, increase score.
- Don’t spend the entire run perfecting the freeze build. You only need enough freeze to activate the car’s bonus stats and offset fuel drain. This is one of my favorite cars.
Cards and Charms Worth Grabbing
Here’s a short list of cards and charms I pick up every single time they appear.
Priority Cards
| Card | Effect | Editor Rating |
|---|---|---|
| Efficiency | Refuel of fuel on loop | Essential |
| Fueling Gate | Refuel on gate trigger | Essential |
| Lap Surge | Boost on loop | Essential |
| Overfuel Injector | Boost when refueling more than max | Essential |
| Reckless | +2 boost on triggering a gate | Essential |
| Golden Start | Gold on start | Optional |
| Drift By Ghost | Special card | Optional |
| Punch Card | Special card | Optional |
| Keystone | Special card | Optional |
| Hey You! | Special card | Optional |
Editor Warning: I typically skip scoring cards unless I’m struggling to get gates early in a run — they just don’t scale well enough to justify a slot.
Charms
| Charm | Effect | Editor Rating |
|---|---|---|
| Boost Cell | +3 boost when gaining boost | Essential |
| Boost Chip | +10% boost gain | Essential |
| Crowned Wheels | Score type gates get +1 score when looping | Essential |
| Cycle | Looping triggers an extra time | Essential |
| Freezer | Freeze cooldown after frozen solid is halved | Optional |
| Fuel Filter | Refuel efficiency decays 20% slower | Essential |
| Gate Echo | Gates have a 10% chance to trigger twice | Essential |
| Ghostly Drift | Ghosts trigger drift ticks every 0.5 seconds | Optional |
| Golden Tooth | +1 gold when gaining gold | Optional |
| Ice Cube | When increasing pooled freeze, increase it by an extra 1 second | Optional |
| Score Chip | Score gains increased by 10% | Essential |
| Sick Drift | Drift cards require half the amount of drift ticks to trigger | Optional |
| Snake Gate | Gate cards trigger on loop as well | Essential |
| Spirit Thread | Ghost Cars last 2 seconds longer | Optional |
| Stopwatch | Gate cooldowns are halved | Essential |
You won’t collect many charms across a 12-round run, but the ones you do land can shift a run from shaky to smooth.
Conclusion
Consistency beats ambition every time in The Loopler. Build the engine, protect the fuel line, and let the score take care of itself.
