A guide to basic, introductory team setups, exampling two play-style variations, to assist beginners in understanding and learning the team building opportunities within Super Auto Pets
Basic Introductory Combos
While it’s easy to be unsure of how best to setup your pets team in any given playthrough, here you can find a couple of simple introductory setups that can teach you the baselines of some different metas within the game and win those first few trophies.
Mob Spawner
The Mob Spawner meta is defined best as the setup of animals that summon more pets as they faint, or bring perks as new pets are summoned.
Early game mob spawner setups typically take advantage of early game pulls of the Cricket and the Horse . Keeping the horse in the back of the lineup ensures that all summoned mobs receive its health perk. Additionally it can benefit to make use of the Ant and Fish early game to level up, bringing more health to the horse, ensuring it can’t get taken out while in the back positions.
As the tiers begin to increase, it is best to make use of animals such as the Spider and the Sheep , bettering your spawned creature and amount of summons per round.
Aside from leveling up your animals, it will be important with this meta to implement the Honey Pot in all positions except for the front and the rear, in order to maximize the amount of animals you summon without exceeding the number of positions and losing animal spawns.
Hurt-to-Heal
The Hurt-to-Heal meta makes use of two key animals, and a third that can vary between play-styles. Early game it is important to focus on collecting animals that will lower shop costs, increase shop animal health, and help you more in the second and third rounds.
Once you reach the middle rounds, it is important to collect both the Elephant and the Camel , beginning a chain of damage behind the elephant to the camel, followed by health from the camel to the next animal in line. This third animal, depending on the luck of the draw, is best played as the Kangaroo or the Hippo . Using the kangaroo will hyper-increase its own health with assistance from the camel, increasing its tank quality and helping push through animals in the later rounds. With the hippo, the health increases from the camel will allow it to survive first hits, allowing it to activate its ability and gain both health and strength at an elevated rank, making it even more of a tank during each round.
As for item usage, it is important to increase these animals health as much and as quickly as possible, making heavy use of Apples and Pears . Additionally, for the camel, it is important to limit the damage it takes, ensuring it lasts long and uses its ability as much as possible, making the Garlic the best choice to apply to this animal. As for the Elephant and Kangaroo, both the garlic and the Meat Bone can help to reserve health or dish out heavier damage, both helping your animals survive and push through, setting up your tank animal in the third position.
Simple but Helpful
While these two options may not get you the full win, for beginners that are just learning the game, these may introduce the basics of animal combinations, teach simple game metas, and open more doors further on to improve these simple teams and diversify them into stronger, quickly scaling teams that will help you secure the win and explore the intricacies of successful team building. And if anyone has more metas to add, or edits to make to the above, feel free to comment and add to the thread! I too am a beginner, but these helped me begin to learn, and I hope in some way they can help someone else.
