X. Effective ST-Operator in Practice
As a walkthrough, and also my practice, here are the tips on how to be an effective ST-Operator.
- Always transmit the total scraps in the area at the start of the day.
- Always check the time of the day and broadcast it so your co-workers will have an idea of how much longer should they stay inside.
- Ask your co-workers to make use of spray cans as a marking tool to help them find their back to the exits and entrances.
- Always have a shovel and or stun grenade in your inventory, Mimic got close to the ship and is after you, transmit code RED whenever you are starting to fight a Mimic.
XI. Author’s Notes
All screenshots in this guide are from recent live gameplay testing these signal transmissions with 12 active people.
There is no shorthand for giving directions in this because the signal translator is so slow at delivering transmission, and everyone is constantly moving without a pause to get rid of threats or immediately find scraps. CONFUSES A LOT OF FOLKS TO. For hardcore Signal Translator Operators that wants more detailed shorthand please refer to the guide made by Voidpuddle here. This is why I recommended investing in spray cans because it is more helpful than giving directions over the walkies or signal translator.
This worked well for my friends with a total of 8 to 15 playing together, this is easier for them to absorb and simpler, so only share what’s working best for us.
